I'm kind of worried about Idras status in EG or as a pro player in general to be honest, I would not be surprised if he just takes a extended break from the game really soon.
Idra is still miles ahead of the other EG players. No disrespect towards IC who took 4th in MLG Dallas, but that was kind of an upset. What good would it have been if he had won it? Old shakuras is for PvZ what steppes of war was for TvZ. Yea Idra throwing away games still is by far the best player on EG. Knowing EGs team, he really has no one to practice against to even have a chance at beating Koreans (in these "foreign" tournaments) (not counting balance discussion)

I missed the IdrA games, what was the song played?

Please ban the balance trolls who manage to screw up every LR thread. And team liquid should stop registration from spoof accounts too (gmail, hotmail etc..) real ISPs only so they don't come back.

I like how when someone cheeses IdrA it's "noob who can't beat him in a real game". And when IdrA cheeses somebody it instantly turns into a balance discussion since the last hope of zerg has given up.

a shame and terrible image. if i had pulled something like that, i would regret it almost immediately, and for a long time coming.

Idra did no harass despite MC having defenseless bases and an immobile ball that couldn't be in two places at once.
I think Idra is just too scared to harass since it opens you up to a big army engagement where you don't really have your whole force to deal with the "deathball". It's a frustrating thing to play. People keep going on about "multiple flanks" etc. That works sometimes and sometimes it doesn't. It's just extremely frustrating to play. The difference between any BW comparison is that Zerg has defenders advantage and units to control space. SC2 doesn't have that so it becomes a very fragile time where you either pull something off brilliantly and get ahead or you look like a fool and get crushed.
People are far too quick to draw judgement on what they see. Idra beat himself yes, he gave up yes. No one can deny that. I wonder if it's more that it's just incredibly frustrating to play or that he feels there is no way to win. Judging from what I've seen as an outside man it feels more like the former. Like why try so hard only to be disappointed in the end.
Overall these discussions are rather annoying in a LR thread. I'm not quite sure why I'm engaging in here. Maybe it's just my fading Zerg heart that calls me to come forward. I doubt anyone thinks ZvP is totally not winnable. Merely completely and utterly frustrating

He threw away game 2 by thinking 6-pool would somehow work against MC. No let's be honest he didn't actually believe it would work.

But he does...he has the skill and decision making to win when his judgement is not clouded by rage. You know how many games morrow took off MC? 1 more than idra. It's not like MC is invulnerable, hes just really good. idra was totally in a position to win on game 1, if he hadnt mispositioned his Broodlords that fight would have gone very differently, there were also other points in the game where he could have been more aggressive (granted MC made mistakes too, not pushing in the beginning while idra droned up to 50+ drones)
If idra had stopped, sat back, accepted that his own mistakes cost him the game and tried again he could have taken a game or won, but instead he gave up in typical idra fashion and 6 pools..

Is there a chance for getting replays?
|
really sad to see idra act like this, he is an amazing player and usually have the games won but then he throws them away just to prove a point and blame imbalance.
i dont know if he is actually doing it on purpose or not but he really have to sort this shit out

@ game : im really disappointed with idra. not because he lost to MC ( in a tenser game1 when it looked like in the final fight, just horrible micro by idra ), but because he is so faithless. he repeatingly throws away games with stupid cheese, just to send stupid messages around, like : "omg see how imba Terran / Protoss is".
really really bad attitude. i liked the dude besides all his BM, but slowly he is turning me off. you cant be pissed because of losing a single game vs the momentary best player in the world.
Dreamhack is still being played.
VOD:s will be up tomorrow, at the latest.

I don't think he gave up... That doesn't make much sense, he ought to know he fucked up the last engagement, getting his BL's sniped by blink stalkers while trying to put pressure on the natural. And if he hadn't, he might've had a chance.
Maybe made a stupid decision. 6pool'ing on a map that people don't often go forge first. But who would expect it, it's IdrA. He also may've thought XNC would be too hard to to fend off a 4gate vs MC, it's not a great ZvP map.... Easy to hatch block and a wide open natural.
I don't see the argument for imbalance, why are people bringing that up?

Only the protoss are arguing against it, he isn't a martyr, he literally can not win. Like I said before, MC said he will never lose to a zerg, unless they nerf. When the best protoss player literally says I like the nerfs because I want to win fairly, you have to believe it. if you cant see how idra could have won game 1, you are lost You analysis a game with complete map vision and knowing the outcome, and you usually analyize from the loser perspective to see what he could have done. MC made tons of mistakes (which you can't punish protoss for if they have sentries) The way MC put up his defense, you can not crack it. Blink/Collosus can defend any drops, and sentries can COMPLETELY STOP any attacks with the chokes at watchtowers I know you dislike MC playstyle etc etc, but when the BEST protoss says its impossible to lose to Zerg, it is a bit silly when another protoss comes out and says silly things. Agree with Huko, MC is like the Master player posting on TL forums and Tylers is like the Bronze player shuting him down now.
What does that make you?

And we take a quick pause until PvP finals where everyone will yawn and talk about imbalance instead of LR.
.. $5 says this is happening

This is actually a great post.
I've been a huge IdrA fan for so long, today just made me sad

If I was the organizer of a major invitational event I would surely know who NOT to invite now. Throwing games away like that because you are pissed for fucking up? he really needs to go take a break and get his mindset right otherwise he's gonna destroy himself
