Cannon rush song? Are they implying Idra should have off-raced a cannon rush against MC
Seriously though, Idra could have won game 1 he just needed to hit a timing with Hydras before the storm came up and right after clearing the Collosus. A quicker transition to Broodlords timed to the defeat of the Collosus would have also been deadly, same thing with some ling harrass, or drops.
I don't think a 6 pool was the right idea on Xel. I could see it being the right decision on a 4 player map, but with one scout position, a small ramp, MC 9 pylon scouting often... I just don't agree with it no matter how frustrated you are... Do a roach rush or baneling build or some other 1 base cheese, but the 6 pool = yuck in that situation.

MC had 0 defenses at both his 3rd/4th. IdrA took a late 4th / never corrupted after killing the Collo in the first fight and didn't scout expansions. Late on infesters as well. The thing that pisses me off the most though is that OK so you make a mistake at the end and it costs you the game.. why give up on game 2? You had him on the ropes like 3 separate times EVEN IF you want to argue "I can't win!" you at least came REALLY REALLY close vs the best fucking protoss on the planet... what more do you want? Give game 2 a try jesus
qft. thanks for taking the time and putting into words what sensible people were thinking(and adding some ofc^^). btw nasl coming up tonight... wouldn't want to follow this show:D but seriously this day was made for sc2 fans.

MC won the game fair and square. What did he abuse?

I agree and disagree, 6 pooling in that map is giving up, IdrA knew it, any zerg knows it. IdrA probably knew it was most likely 3gate expand with pressure or straight up 4gate, since that's what MC does in that map and still chose to 6pool in a map where MC always sends his probe after pylon. MC, is a better player overall (2 GSL to prove that) but to deny IdrA played better than MC on game one of Metal and still got raped by the blink stalker late game without actually making much damage, is like saying ZvP is completely balanced. Haters go "he didn't drop, or nydus, boooooo" Dropping or nydus'ing against blink stalkers, really? Maybe at a platinum level your opponent won't have a fast reaction time, but this is a pro-gaming level tournament, no chance in hell a drop would have worked, not to mention how all-in-ish they are at that point of the game.

Only the protoss are arguing against it, he isn't a martyr, he literally can not win. Like I said before, MC said he will never lose to a zerg, unless they nerf. When the best protoss player literally says I like the nerfs because I want to win fairly, you have to believe it. if you cant see how idra could have won game 1, you are lost You analysis a game with complete map vision and knowing the outcome, and you usually analyize from the loser perspective to see what he could have done. MC made tons of mistakes (which you can't punish protoss for if they have sentries) The way MC put up his defense, you can not crack it. Blink/Collosus can defend any drops, and sentries can COMPLETELY STOP any attacks with the chokes at watchtowers
I know you dislike MC playstyle etc etc, but when the BEST protoss says its impossible to lose to Zerg, it is a bit silly when another protoss comes out and says silly things.

Im kind of curious as to what the EG managment thinks of one of their player purposely throwing a game away because he's "fed up" with the game balance.
I'm kind of worried about Idras status in EG or as a pro player in general to be honest, I would not be surprised if he just takes a extended break from the game really soon.

Though partially it may have been he just giving up, I think he proved a point. Not participating in something that you consider unfair is encouraged in society (e.g: most democracies have a blank vote), why is this any different? I don't know for certain if Idra is right in thinking that Protoss is broken because I'm not a progamer (though I suspect he's right), but if he really thinks it is, dropping a game like that is a smart way to get the point across. I'd do it. Not even trying when there's so much money on the line shows that he seriously believes what he says.

Ironically that iNcontroL's offrace Zerg is better than most high Masters. Please, do some research before you bash a player.

i cannot understand the logic of live report threads, the 6 pool no matter who is doing it comes down to when it is scouted, people always say how idra should throw some cheese or 6 pool into his style and when it does people complain.
-MC pylon scouts 2 player maps -If pylon scouted, 6 pool fails 110% of the time -The map they played on was a 2 player map
I'm not sure what July game you're talking about, but I don't think IdrA's decision was a good one even if his opponent was a diamond player. He did very well in a macro game. Just needed some faith in himself and he could have came back imo.
MC had 0 defenses at both his 3rd/4th. IdrA took a late 4th / never corrupted after killing the Collo in the first fight and didn't scout expansions
He actually did use corruption. The commentators missed a LOT of what was going on due to the sound issue, but I'm used to playing with no sound so i missed nothing. If you watch it again you'll see that every immortal was corrupted.

No, he gave up. Threw in the towel after getting caught with his pants down in game 1. 6pool, on Caverns, against the best crisis management player who always scouts after 9 pylon, is giving up.

IdrA was indeed in a great position in game 1. Lot of broods, good army, but he made one small mistake and let his Broods get caught ALONE by blink stalkers. That's not "literally can't win", that's getting into an advantageous position and throwing it away with poor management. We've all done it, and it feels horrible, but IdrA has no one else to blame for always giving up prematurely. IdrA doesn't bend, he just snaps.

A series like that makes me think he just sees all the bad things about game 1 and gives up in game 2.
the confidence he has doesnt revolve around who he plays, but what race he plays. he would be just as confident vs any NA protoss.

1. Fly to Sweden 2. Lose your 40+ supply lead by letting the Protoss take the gold base and sit back and let him max out with more efficient mining. 3. Make tier 3 units and position them so your opponent can blink right underneath them while your units are trapped and eat Psi Storms to the face. 4. 6 pool next game and immediately quit when MC kills his own pylon and pulls probes and skipped the Cyber Core. 5. Do not Profit
That's my story and I'm sticking to it.

brolords in the front of your army is like putting colossus in the front... you just dont.

Thats is one of his weakness beside the fact the prefer the macro game too much and sometime let chances slip by right over his head.
