MC played extremely well that game. IdrA built a ball and attacked in one position the entire game, never hitting in multiple spots. His best attack was when he got a good spread, but late game he has no drops or anything? Really, you WILL lose if you slam head on into a 200 P army with that composition. Not to mention he got caught out of position. :/ No your right, drops are the ideal response to your opponent controlling the sky with phoenixes. Then when you win it back and have an inferior force due to useless corruptors and have to make slow hydras you are totally capable of pulling off a ton of multi-pronged harassment.... vs someone on 2-3 bases.... I dunno it didn't really look to me like IdrA ever had enough oomph to actually finish off the game so the result wasn't unexpected to me.
Did you even watch the game? He made 6, lost 4 and was on 2 forever. You get drops when you are that late into the game. Honestly, watch the game before you make ignorant statements.
They were "useless" because he didn't attack. They were "useless" because he decided to attack before infestors.

Only the protoss are arguing against it, he isn't a martyr, he literally can not win. Like I said before, MC said he will never lose to a zerg, unless they nerf. When the best protoss player literally says I like the nerfs because I want to win fairly, you have to believe it.
He could have won it easily, he was ahead and could have done a million things to put a major dent into MC. Then he made a MASSIVE mistake as Idra is known for in many matches and lost his army.
He didnt just throw away his expensive Brood Lords for no reason other than to kill 4-5 probes but he also threw his Hydras into a blender of Storms. 2 major mistakes.
Infact before this fight, i could not see how Idra would lose at all, then he goes and proves me wrong yet again. His own fault, lost to a much better player, MC is a tier above most other players

No, he probably planned to win 2-0 and not let it come to shakuras, Im pretty sure he thinks he can never win on shakuras vP

Well to be fair to IdrA, his worst match up would probably be Z v P? right?.. and he's play Vs MC.. what did you expect him to do? he knew on Xel'naga he would have a really tough time.. so he went for the quick win..or quick loss... Good games played by both.. MC's army was stronger in game 1 and he is just a ridiculous player. gg

IdrA throws away 3-4 queens a few ovies and some drones vs a phoenix opening... has MC on the ropes but then stops attacking...
IdrA gets 7 bl's and sticks his army in a choke spot and dies easily "PVZ IMBALANCED!"
MC had 0 defenses at both his 3rd/4th. IdrA took a late 4th / never corrupted after killing the Collo in the first fight and didn't scout expansions. Late on infesters as well. Had he waited for infesters and massed some bl's while harrassing the expos with lings or something he'd be fine and that is ONLY after him NOT throwing 4 base of production into 2 collo (idra had corruptors out) and 5 stalkers...
The thing that pisses me off the most though is that OK so you make a mistake at the end and it costs you the game.. why give up on game 2? You had him on the ropes like 3 separate times EVEN IF you want to argue "I can't win!" you at least came REALLY REALLY close vs the best fucking protoss on the planet... what more do you want? Give game 2 a try jesus
this, oh so much this! Why dont at least try? Nerves/rage/whatever, give it your best shot - dont just give up, it could have been his greatest sc2 moment

Indeed, very good prodcution .. I'm really enjoying Dreamhack a lot more then MLG and IEM. I'm also liking the guy who takes the interviews, forgot he's name atm but he's really funny and he keeps it all in English, unlike IEM where they would jump from English to German all the time.
Also respect for IdrA, for trying to cheese MC. That must take a lot of balls.

Do people not remember the Protoss death ball in Broodwar? It's the same deal here. Harass and starve the Protoss, don't go for a 200/200 engagement. Idra did no harass despite MC having defenseless bases and an immobile ball that couldn't be in two places at once.

Idra definately had a chance of taking that series, but he's so convinced he cant beat protoss he has defeated himself before the game even begins.

Gutted I've missed the majority of this due to being held on a Tuesday during working hours.
Is it a public holiday in Sweden?

how did morrow win a game against MC if ZvP is impossible?

It can actually work really well if toss scouts after gate, like a lot of them do on 2 player maps This not this it is map dependent. July 6 pooled on Scrap because it's very common for Protoss to try to open forge expand. Idra 6 pools on Xel'Naga where the nat is wide open so it's standard for toss to stay on 1 base longer. Idra gave up.
It is that. When you 6 pool you are playing blind. July blindly 6 pooled. IdrA blindly 6 pooled. It doesn't matter if "forge FE is the norm" you are still doing it blindly.

No way Idra actually has the plan to 6pool before a series starts. Especially on XelNaga. He planned to 6pool Jinro in gsl

Protoss is favored in Xel'Naga Caverns btw. Idra would have taken an early third to be a base up on MC. MC would have responded by rushing his third. If/not he would have defended would have decided the game, if MC didn't 4/5/6 WP rush before that. I think that's how it played out in Idra's head.

Feel kinda dissapointed that idra decided to just throw the set, after all being one of only 8 people invited its a sign of respect to the tourney organisers/entire community to give atleast a good effort..
I feel that the fragility of zerg can give the player the illusion of being ahead sometimes, although those BL's were in such a bad spot, he shouldnt of been so reckless
Toss is winning everything atm
