don't get me wrong, these delays and errors are inexcusable. but if you really think MLG has consistently been ill-prepared, you are seriously mistaken. other then some minor hiccups every once in a while, this is the first time I've seen things go this wrong with MLG in years. literally.
Its not even the first time in the same city...
what are you referring to exactly? i'm speaking moreso from a halo players perspective. they have been running this tournament for years and it's been reliable, efficient, and has done a TON for that community. i love SC as well, but i don't like how the organization is being bashed to a pulp when it has definitely earned its credibility if you have tried watching more than a few events.
and maybe i should've edited my quote; i guess MLG has been pretty bad for the PC tourneys. but really, as an organization, it has done a ton for e-sports, namely halo. don't dismiss the company entirely. they've done years of great work for consoles.
"As you may have noticed, we are experiencing additional internet problems in the venue. The match between Grubby and DDE has been moved off of the Main Stage in order to better monitor the internet connection. We will be bringing you updates from the match as it happens. DDE currently holds a 1-0 lead in the series, and the winner will take on Sixjax Mihai in a battle for the final spot in Pool Play."
Soo... any reason we can't see other games as well? I would've liked to see Haypro, Huk or some of the others play... I mean at this point they could just use Justin.tv or some free streaming service heh.

I see what you wrote, man ! I might make a new thread about your post. So everybody will know what you think. I'll even do a music video with your post as lyrics, just to embarrass you.

I shall quote this post so that the world will not miss it

^ Agreed.
Six Reasons Why NASL Will Trump MLG Dallas
1) It's pre-recorded. (Nothing wrong with live events but live should mean "live" ala GSL. This also means VOD's should be uploaded sooner.)
2) It's on Justin.tv (NASL isn't claiming to have all technical issues worked out, but damn it, they're smart enough to run on servers that can handle massive viewership.)
3) It won't use Octoshape.
4) The format is painfully easy to follow.
5) We'll actually know what time what player is playing and can tune in accordingly.
6) Artosis Fighting!
I love this post so much
NASL are entirely smart to understand that if you don't have the competency for a live event, then don't do it... pre-production makes everything much better.

After that I went clubbing and I slept for a few hours. What happened since I left ?
I think I can top that. After dde and Grubby paused during game 1, I decided to take a nice stroll outside, seeing as how it was a nice sunny day. I was walking down the street when suddenly a bus manned by terrorists full of hostages veered around the corner, in hot pursuit by 13 cop cars. I acted fast and wrapped my ethernet cables around signposts on either side of the road (who would've thought leaving my house that I wouldn't even need those cables anymore to watch MLG). The force of the cables on the bus caused the driver to lose control, forcing the bus to a stop, with the rescue of 317 hostages shortly commencing thereafter. After receiving 7 medals of honor from President Obama and Day9 himself, I decided to head back home. So what's happened since I left?

I'm sorry, but if the TSL can cast epic games via uStream with over 50,000 users... for free. Then the argument of "Sorry guys, you just didn't buy enough shirts" seems to be less valuable.
Well the TSL doesn't have 100s of people all playing from the same place of the same internet connection. And ustream definitely was working close with tl.net to make sure everything ran smoothly.
Not sure what you guys are all talking about... MLG has been great so far! I got the dishes done, laundry folded, read a couple chapters in my book, and started playing Final Fantasy 2 again in between the downtime. Name me another tournament that you would have the time to do all that in?
Wow Jesus Christ I can't even even keep up with the "Next page" button i start getting 3-5 pages behind on this thread.
I really don't think the mods should be upset about people whining, I agree with a lot of posts saying it's making it easier to not go insane. This thread keeps people sane by complaining, and it's not like their complaining is invalid.
And for other people I shall post this to keep you entertained =) Call it an intermission.

Wow, I just feel bad for MLG. I feel bad for the players who have practiced so many hours preparing for this, I feel bad for the people having bought the HQ tickets, I feel bad for the casters who have had to talk about nothing for 2-3 hours at a time, and I even feel bad for the organizers who thought they could pull this off.
It's a really terrible situation for everyone, not just us viewers. I'd suggest everyone to resist posting rage posts about MLG's failure, step away from the stream and find other ways to make use of your time. If anything, this continues to prove that the demand for NA esports is still high and there are other upcoming tournaments to take advantage of that! (gogogo NASL)
