Foxer credited mvp for helping him tackle that matchup. He's good, heck, he's my favorite player, but gotta give credit where credit is due.

For example PvT - Protoss winner Average game length - 15 minutes. PvT - Terran winner Average game length - 10 minutes. that was an excellent idea actually, i uploaded the new file with separated times for wins/losses (might need to press F5 to refresh picture if old one is still in browser cache) and its pretty interesting how short especially pvts were if the t won :o also, longer games tend to be won by the zerg (could also say zerg needs longer to win...) new full file here

Terran - 8 Zerg - 4 Protoss - 4 - Rd of 65 - Terran - 24 Zerg - 27 protoss - 12 random - 1 # of ZvZ in rd64 & 32 - 3 # of TvT in rd 64 & 32 - 4 # of PvP in rd 64 & 32 - 0 The rd of 16 brackets are so weird. lining up a possibility of 7/8 Terrans in the next round. TvT in rd of 8 would be so boring. hope the z & p fight back and even the tally.

You could see it both in his play and face that he knew what to do and what to expect. Such smooth long-term terran play... I recall jinro not liking TvT so GL in ro16 doesn't necessarily mean he's weak at it I hope. I find polt to be a boring player so jinro knocking polt out would be double +

Moon's games in the round of 64 was full of holes. I am not sure if it is because of WC3 or something else, it just looked like a better player will win against him no problemo. As for Idra losing, again, not surprised at all. I expected this. Last GSL, MVP was a bit unlucky to go out, he had sick unit control, solid play. Idra is a decent zerg, but not one of those, who can be considered a favorite against MVP. In fact, I don't know if any Zerg will be considered as such against MVP. He is one of THE favorites for me.

I was surprised how nervous MvP looked before first match even though he was considered a huge favorite to win that. It's not like it would have been easy if he didn't get close spawns on metal :/

At any rate, my point is people seem to conflate macro & defense when they are separate and distinct. Jinro plays macro/defense, a style that is unlikely to win consistently, IMHO. He simply is going to have to be more aggressive to win it all.

For the sake of simplicity, say there are two divergent and non-competing styles of play, and term them (1) macro/one-base; and (2) offensive/defensive. That is, one can be macro/offense, macro/defense, one-base/defense, and one-base/offense. To me, the absolute best style is one that combines macro with offense. The absolute worst is one-base defense (so bad that it doesn't really even exist at pro level). But between the two middle choices, macro/defense and one-base/offense, I still feel one-base/offense is superior.
