Yeah right. I can afford it no problem, but I won't because I pay things that I think are worth it. 10$ i would have paid or 20$ for better quality, replays and maybe more than a month, some behind the scene or shit. In its state no way... and I don't care about them not having foreigners money I would not be surprised that with Korean TV audience, peripheral sells, increase of general audience to the channel, and foreigners tickets they should really get enoug money to make some profit now or in an early tournament.
Simply don't pay them money. Strategically making users pay for HD streams without demonstrating robustness first was a massive mistake. I'm not sure how many people paid the 20 but they were taking a leap of faith tthere. Then having a capacity cap on their LQ stream was an equally big mistake pretty much suggesting that they wouldn't have the capacity reliability on their HQ streams. I'm probably only going to catch 6 games of the GSL because of GOM's unsavvy business sense.
I'm not telling anyone to pay $20. I'm just saying that the TL community should show some integrity. If we think that their product sucks, we should boycott the entire thing and not watch it at all.

that .cn site is amazing, now we just need reposted english vods. lols.

I've noticed today's game's VODs were a bit better in quality, I can MOSTLY read numbers now, its a lot less pixelated and blurry in general. Anyone else notice this, or am I crazy? lol
+ Show Spoiler +Sad to see Artosis didn't make it through, but you played well bro! Also, that Tester wall after that would have really sucked, but hey. props <3

I missed tester's games in the morning, just watched the vods... Oh my CHRIST that guy is a beast.
For some reason I didn't particularly enjoy watching Game 1, although it was truly incredible play from both players. I guess I just felt that if I was in tester's position I'd be banging my head against the desk from the start of the drops til the end. Amazing play though, just keeping calm and composed, and god, having HTs at the destructible rock-pathway. That was brilliant, as he could literally carpet storm the path with no place for the T to run.
Game 2 was just sick... Insane forcefields, as everyone noted, and the push was just unstoppable. Anyone else notice how tester warped in zealots in front of the stalkers to soak damage? Amazing once more.
<3 Tester, I want to see him vs Cool in the final, as we all know the PvZ is the SHIZ.
Excited for day 6!
Edit: If any of you are looking for the vods, http://www.youtube.com/user/maxijazzeee#p/u has the VODs in high quality, pretty damn good. They also have the english commentary, but with the Korean commentator's view (or so I think) so you can't always see what tasteless/artosis are talking about, but you get to the big battles right on time

To be fair, Day9 Daily is exactly at 4 a.m. CET, and quite a lot of Europeans still stay up to watch it live, even though there are vods, and even though it's educational, instead of competitive.
But yeah, we need vods. I hope GSL gets major sponsors soon, so they can get rid of those limitations asap. From their statements, it seems their goal is to make it all free asap.

Are VODs not working for anyone else?

Clicking the "Set 1" button again (or whichever one your on) seems to help.

I think the problem is/was: They though "We will let them pay 50$. Probably X people will buy this, so our hardwaresetup should be able to deal with this". Then they changed their policy to "20$ AND a free stream". Suddenly much much more people than X want to watch - thus the hardware isnt capable of managing all the load. And you just cannot just improve the total bandwidth / hardware on the fly in like 3-4 days. Just not possible.
Their livestream product would've been better if they just didnt offer the freestream & lowered the price.
So I am kinda torn - on one side I am glad they wanted to show their good will. On the other side I am "raging" a little whenever my HQ streams lags and then returns to good quality when the "I have been kicked from the SQ stream and now it tells me limit has been reached" posts start to show up.
The VODs on the other hand should be in a way better quality.
And I am frightened of the finals. Sooo many people will try to watch. I honestly doubt their hardware will be good enough until then

Honestly, why can't they?
They're serving the stream via CDNetworks's servers at a datacenter in the California Bay Area (think San Francisco area, although the datacenter is South). CDNetworks is one of the biggest CDNs in the world, and is a SK company IIRC which is probably why they're using it. They already have the infrastructure and hardware in place. GOM just needs more servers fielding the stream. On day 1 they had 12~ up; on day 2 or 3 I saw 15. They could easily add more (of course, it would cost them more, but that's that).

Just saw the artosis games. They were painful. What the hell was he doing? Unusual... wierd play from the protoss countered by even wierder play by artosis. (Banelings?) wataf.
