Atleast offer a free low-quality stream, I mean come on. You really expect people to pay for a low qual stream? Not even MLG or ESL does this. Why does GOM have to be so greedy?

Do you guys have any idea how much a pay per view cost for an UFC-event? And that's only a couple of hours. I happily paid 10 dollar for the MLG stream (Which was really good) and will pay for this one if the quality is good! If I can be assured that the quality will be good, then i'm sold. Last time I ordered a UFC fight it was in 1080i I also payed for the MLG stream, but Gom is asking for $50 for both live and vods and its gonna be in 500k HAHAHA are you kidding me? the MLG free stream was 600k.

But there never was a organization that didnt start as a non-profi one. As i and many people wrote before. They need to offer free streams at the beginning to hook people in and then gradually incorporate the paid options. off topic.. How many people think its Blizzard decision? Cause its basically like a wow monthly fee ;P

Secondly, why on earth not make 20 or 30 dollars for entire package. Streaming is unreliable, and my speedtest to their server showed really poor results, so I dont feel confident at all, that the stream will be HQ and run smoothly. So, this leaves watching vods, and missing the wonders of watching the event live. This also means dodging teamliquid for a few days, waiting for them to upload vods and avoid getting spoiled. Most people here seems to think that having free streams is some sort of "right" they have to provide, which is something I have to disagree a bit on, but the prices they are charging are horrendeous, especially seeing how its split up the live and vod, and its only the first season. Guess im going to have to wait and see what they are doing before I make up my mind. I wouldnt mind paying 20 bucks or so to watch a months worth of content, live AND vods, but if they keep the current regime going, I might as well wait for others to restream or upload vods.

I do understand that they ought to provide free streams to a certain extent, but what's wrong with e.g. charging tickets for actually going to the event or something?

Back when Kespa first tried charging for seating for their live events no one came and there were protests. This is no different. Gretech is killing BW e-sports and making SC2 even more of a failure in Korea. Just look at their philosophy of pro-teams: they basically want to take Boxer's dream and shove it up his ass.

My opinion is this is the wrong way to go about attracting a larger audience. I can't see new players been eager to throw their money at this. Starting with lower prices or offering discounts for first purchases would be a better avenue to explore.
