all he done was been semi afk when tanks demolishing protoss pointless adempts to break the line. tlo used like 3-4 marines and 2 steam marauders and took down the nexus in 5 seconds whereas 12+ blink stalkers wherent able to kill a single barracks in an empty base before reinforces came After that was defence , defence and more defence till protoss lost all the units to siege tanks and only took a push to win. Ill be voting for idra tommorow for the first time in my sc2 experience , simply cause enough is enough with uber defencive terran eaz mode..

And he's not even mentioning it in game, but in pre-show, and people still complain.

Do you think they will just give him 3000 dollars for free without getting something back in return? Day9 isn't getting hundreds of thousands of viewers, he's getting a little less than 10k viewers so he needs to pimp the sponsor to make it worthwhile for the sponsor. no, no, just fucking no. No to the new breed of marketing. You know when i was a child companies tried to get customers by coming up with exciting commercials, making their campaigns accessible and exciting. But these days companies realized that the best well to sell you crap is to give you a mental disorder by jamming same commercial 10 times in a row. JUST NO. The fact that they're profiting off of a marketing campaign is no reason for me to think theyre untouchable by criticism.

Part of the problem is ablocking/dvrs/tivo etc that allow consumers to skip ads. That way you actually need to use people to plug products inline. Who watches these innovative commercials anymore, not the target audience for sure! Just take a look at the oldspice debacle. Super viral ad, huge drop in sales.

Great, next time Razor will not sponsor any of this and there is no more 3k prize pool. If day9 could have gotten a better deal he would have.

Super viral ad, huge drop in sales. i understand it's effectiveness i just think this should be illegal just like 25th frame or whatnot. Also i already offered a way to add more variety- just interchange between pluggin then in and running a proper commercial before a game.

It's far better than the same ad coming over and over during a sport match, less debilitating actually. Then we can't complain about sponsorships if we want an eSport scene... players won't spend 6 to 12hours a day to play the game if there is no money involved. And there is only 3 ways get money rewards : - Make ads (sponsors or random ads) - Make the viewers pay - Make the player play, the organizer... The last one is ridiculous, the second one is a possibility but the eSport community is not ready to accept paying to watch games. So you have to get a sponsorship, and if you want them to invest more in the future you must make it rewarding. Then you can't like every 10 second say the name of the sponsor because then you will lose audience... so you have to find a balance between viewer comfort and sponsor time. Day9 is still very viewer friendly in that regard. Now if you want to complain about advertising in a general perspective, like there is far too much of it on TV (especially here in america compared to europe), most of them or debilitating and such... yeah I agree with you, the line where it becomes a plague has been crossed over and over.

I dare them to not sponsor any more starcraft II events. They're making money off you and your peers, if anything they owe you gratitude for being a customer, not the other way around.

I bet you the 3k invested by razer into this have already been turned into profit. Thats only 60 people buying a mid-range mouse.

Turltle Terran has been a valid strategy in BW for years why not in sc2? I swear these forums are turning into sherdog with everyone bitching just to bitch. in game 2, TLO outplayed Tester in a straight end game, macro and control oriented game which was very reminiscent of the BW predecessor. This is what I found to be ironic since artosis and other elitist claim the new breed of players like TLO specifically won't find success because all they do is exploit fast push, and gimmick strats to win that don't do anything to improve mechanics or their game in the long run. Well, TLO simply beat tester at the one game that really showcased mechanics and decision making. While Tester the korean pro won via gimmicky VR rush, it's just ironic and if you can't see that well.. I don't know what to tell you.

I agree the sponsors for the tournaments we had so far certainly have paid over and over the investment. Now this is something that will change as it becomes more popular... because of the competition (the organizer will get the sponsor that pay the most). Right now it's too rare to really make much of a bargain.

Yes I dont have a screen or anything but I was looking in match histories and actually made a post asking people not to spoil games via match history once i realized the games were already played without thinking which was quickly (and rightfully) deleted but Huk and Tester did play 3 games and Huk won one of them. I don't know anything about the game just saw the match histroy that huk and tester played 3 games and huk won one. Im assuming its ok to say this now that no one can look up and spoil results via match histroy even if they wanted to
