Normally a Terran monster for root gaming, QXC has decided to play protoss for the games. A good friend and practice partner of Artosis, he claims that they have a Protoss + Zerg strategy that will have Americans once again declaring "Mission Accomplished."
Artosis
An American who many believe defected to Korea, Artosis has been secretly gathering intelligence on how the Asians play. He now returns home to fight for Red, White, & Blue, commanding the dominant Korean race: Zerg. Will his Swarm training on the Asian servers and synergy with friend, QXC, be enough to overcome Team Europe?

Let me guess, proxi gates + lings banelings? Whenever a player goes offrace for a game like this I expect him to end it soon or his macro will be lacking. It is rush 99%. And zerg is pretty much bad in in 2v2 in any stage beyond mass speedling early aggression.

This has made me so pumped, I was wondering when there would be some 2v2 tourneys, but I wasn't expecting there to be ones with such well known players (let alone 2 of my favourite players on the same team!!).
I'm hoping TLO gets a few games as zerg, just so I can see some awesome TZ builds

I am so excited about this match, I love watching any game that has even one of these players. I don't care who wins I just hope it goes to the last round. Playing 2v2 is quite a bit different from playing 1v1, your team work can make up for slightly lower level of play, which makes these games impossible to call.

This is going to be great. Definitely interesting to see how the players meshed. It sounds like Artosis and QXC have done this before though, so I'll give them the slight upper-hand going into this. A strategy the two of them have concocted, with QXC off-racing sounds very menacing!

I'm impressed with HDH's self-restraint with this stuff. If I was sitting on two epic show matches I would have been like a little kid wanting to show off my new toys to everyone! Good foresight by these guys to hold onto them and spread them out to lessen the (relative) wait time.

qxc and artosis have been playing ladder 2v2 together, I don't know how much though... so they have done this before, and I'm just kind of assuming qxc has been playing protoss in those...

2v2 seems pretty fun in SC2. I would love to see more of that in the future.

I thought games 1 and 5 were great and very entertaining. The technical difficulties really ruined the series though, which is unfortunate. Game 1 was cut off right when it was getting good, game 5 was spoiled, and of course game 3 didn't even finish. I do like 2v2 though, its something different and can be a lot of fun to watch particularly if it gets to late game. I would definitely love to see more of it in the future!

Fun games. I think a well played 2v2 is more fun to watch than 1v1.
The shared mineral/control thing is kind of cheap tho IMO.
There should be some sort of tax on the shared minerals (i.e. only 75% of what you transfers goes through) or a limit to the amount that can be shared each game.
Artosis cost them the series by going mutas on those 2 occasions.

What's wrong with sharing minerals? It's just another tactic. Not like it's imbalanced or anything, you're just using the fact that terran can get fast cash and protoss can produce stuff at the frontline
