Ok, I actually updated all races in the visualizer and added tones of missing icons:

It might be a few bugs, I couldn't verify that the keynames are all up-to-date.

Guys, I want to share my feedback on TheCore 2.0

6 months ago I learned TheCore 1 for terran and was playing a while, just playing with AI and learing terran
as before I played zerg, but wanted to try something new.

But just recently I gave a try to TheCore 2.0 so my experience for TRM:

* keys much more thought-out than in version 1, ergonomics IMHO improved greatly
* Building became much easier
* managing cameras and groups also became more efficient

I just spent one evening in key trainer that played a couple of games with AI,
the feel is very good now with TheCore 2.0, and if you're a newcomer,
so I defenitely very much recommend playing with TheCore 2.0

P.S. Unfortunately I don't have much time playing SC nowadays, but I want to share my feedback.

I'm trying to get back into starcraft, and I am very interested in making the switch to the core. I recently got a Razer Orbweaver, however, and I am wondering if some of the people involved in making the core might have some ideas about the best way to adapt the Core onto an orbweaver, as it only has a 5x4 keypad. (although it additional buttons accessible by the thumb as well as a directional switch that has 8 potential posistions)

I am working on figuring it out myself, but any help or examples would be much appreciated

It seems TheCore Lite is outdated or something. I added it, but it doesn't show some of the keys, like "Zergling morph to Baneling", "Burrow"...

@Toster: I think he refers to the problem, that the visulizer does not show keys that are bound to ö,ä,ü,ß,´,+ (the keys right of 0, P and L). I think the Problem is, that SC2 does not name the ö key ö, but 'Grave'. And the ä key is 'Apostrophe' and ü is 'semicolon'.
Also the ß key is named 'bracketopen' and ´ is 'bracketclose'. And last but not least + is recognized as 'equals'.
So the are most likely not recognized correctly.

It seems TheCore Lite missed keymaps which didn't change from Standard. I fixed that. Updated the about and tutorial. It is becoming increasing boring to keep spending my time on that. I guess it's about all what I wanted to do with the visualizer.

But am I not messing up the other layouts, if I add additional conventions like
Equals: '+'
, because they are already defined?
The keyboard looks fine. I think it is only the conventions that need adjustments.

It seems that Ctrl+Shift+Key isn't that ergonomic for CameraJump hotkey. )
Shift+Key as in TheCore 1.0 is Ok probably. But this setup...
I would like to jump on camera locations more easily - even f7-f11 would be better than this.

You have to add the conversions from starcraft names of keys to the names displayed in the keyboard in visualizer (keyboards.coffee).
Adding different values for the same stacraft keys will probably break other keyboards, but I believe you can add them into different map, like
germanClassKeyMap =
bracketopen: 'ß''
....

you can then add the map to the backwards map:
keyClassMap[v] = k for k, v of germanClassKeyMap

This should probably work. Did I already tell that I don't know the language

Ok, whoever did what, it got (a little) better^^ Last time I clicked for example on the drone icon and then on basic structures, it showed some terran buildings like the cc and ghost academy in the visualizer (ZRM, german). Now it shows at least some zerg structures, but not all. Moreover, for most units not all abilities are shown, like for the queen only inject. But in the USqwerty layout everything seems to be fine and to get an idea this should be enough. Sorry Toster if you were not the correct person to speak to. I thought when you said "Ok, I actually updated all races in the visualizer..." you were doing exactly this kind of stuff.

Heya, I have some generic feedback on the core 2.0 (RRM), now that I've familiarized myself with the layout pretty well.

There's a lot of little things I really like, such as the zerg larva being bound to, well, almost every key it feels like! Being able to double tap the key for a given unit feels great. I adore the fact that create control group now uses shift as a modifier. Awesome idea; splitting off some units to deal with (or instigate some) harass and rebinding the remainder to your main army key is so much easier, you just hold shift down the whole time. I use this sequence all the time, loving it.

The one thing I don't like is the camera hotkeys; I've gotta echo Sufi-1989's post above. Jumping to a camera hotkey is an awkward maneuver, now that the modifier for doing so is Control + Shift. It doesn't feel like I can quickly jump back to base anymore.

But it seems that all the good modifiers are taken already, so I'm not sure what can be done about it.

I'm also trying to get used to camera hotkeys, I think the idea that you supposed to press ctrl+shift with one finger - thumb.
I'm still using camera-inject method and this is harder than v1. I tried to hack it to around to something else, but that didn't go so well, so I'm back to vanilla v2 ZLM with slight tweaks - I moved out hatchers and queens append and assign keys away as I'm still accidentally reassign army on them.

Thanks for you thoughts Yeah I am using the thumb but it still doesn't feel very good :/ I actually just played a couple games, and I often found myself having to rebind cameras and control groups because of only holding down shift when I meant to hold down ctrl + shift. I'm sure I could get better at doing it over time, but I wanted to talk about it and see what other people think.

I'm curious what tweaks you made, since I've been considering making some but haven't got around to doing it yet.

It might be transition from v1, where shift is used for camera. Can it be muscle memory?
