@ArakisX
A changelog is something we've wanted for a long time, unfortunately there are far to many other important things for me to do (like getting 1.0 out) and I don't have the time to work on it. If someone would volunteer their time to create a changelog and keep it updated that would be awesome.
As far as version numbers on the files, it doesn't make sense to do. It fucks things up in github (because it has to delete and create a shit-ton of files) which sometimes leads to a few hours of work trying to fix it. Again we're trying to cut down on time so we can make progress. JDub knows the specifics on github/why we chose to not include version numbers, so if anyone wants to take a crack at a solution, definitely hit him up for the details.
Concerning the new Hatchery Setup, I am inclined to agreed that having the upgrades a bit closer does not overcome the delay of having to look at your larva and decide how much to build every time. I know that Ninjury disagrees, if he, and anyone else that disagrees with this would voice their concerns it would go a long way into figuring out the best possible scenario.
EDIT: also, it's ma birf-day :D

WRT version numbers in files, is there a way to add a comment in a .sc2hotkeys file? If so, the version could be added there.

The answer to your Ctrl-Shift-0 problem is in the FAQ.

Hello again. Got another question. Haven't been playing SC recently but just started it up today and, having just switched to random, I had a question about Zerg.
What I do is when I play Zerg and I'm waiting for larvae, I hold down the key for "select larvae" so I can get to the next screen as soon as I get one and select what I want to build next. The problem with this is that, because select larvae is i (for RRM), and i is the key for spawn drone, it automatically makes a drone when as soon as I get a larvae.
Is there any way to stop it from automatically producing whatever is on the next screen (doubtful) when I'm holding down a key from the first screen? If not, are there any suggestions as to what I should change "select larvae" to? I'd probably change it to a key that a unit on the next screen currently has for this hotkey layout, and then change a control group to that unit build key.
Right now I'm thinking of moving zergling (currently J) to left bracket "[", and switching spawn larvae to J so that I can hold J and then get to the next screen as soon as possible without automatically producing any units. Are there any problems here that I'm not thinking about?
Also, with left bracket off a control group, that would leave me free to mess around with it and assign it to other hotkeys as a pretty easy to reach for key.

I strongly suggest rebinding here. The solution for this issue is simple. Instead of holding down the spawn larva key, just spam 2 keys 1 for spawn larva and one for the unit you want to make. So instead of holding down "I" you would spam "IJIJIJIJIJ" This way you do not lose efficiency in the layout or speed in making your unit. Keep in mind that this is much faster than waiting to react to the fact that you have larva.

I don't know if this has been answered before, I'm a right handed person, but for some reason my ctrl key on the right does not work. So I can't hotkey my control groups, is there a fix to this or alt key to replace the right ctrl key?
|
@waga I don't know what this is. Does Ctrl function properly in other applications (like changing windows in google chrome).?

It does nothing in windows as well. So sad, I don't know how to fix it as well. Googled but can't find the problem

Do you have another keyboard you can test with? Maybe it is just a dead key on your keyboard.

Rename and modify files in separate commits. otherwise you can lose the history of a file (can happen when the renamed file was changed too much)

if possible I would prefer the solution with the comment

Version: The Core TRM Beta German Layout
Placing main abilities on - (next to shift) so that they can be quickly used by the thumb is indeed a good idea on paper. However i do not feel this is optimal when used in combination with shift, because the index finger has to come down to aid, making this not only slower but increasing the possibility of mistakes.
Here are a couple examples for you to try:
1-Telling your ghost to move to a location and shift queueing some emps, now try the same but instead shift queieng some snipes. 2-Another one is to make your marines reach a certain location and stim attack from there, 3-Try to make your medivacs use the afterburners rigth when they start droping.
Not so pretty is it?
Imo it is more efficient if the ability is on I or elsewhere where it is not triggered by the thumb, since hitting shift will be done with the thumb, making it faster, easier, and less prone to errors.

I am pretty sure we moved snipe off of the thumb, but let me double check for you.

That has been fixed in the most recent version. Re-download and you should be fine

Hey, you mentioned a video explaining the latest changes. Is that coming?
I really think writing a changelog as you go is easier, creates something that can be published right away, easily edited in case of errors and that's what many programmers do. But it's up to you of course

I will write up a changelog! Got sidetracked with some irl stuffs and forgot about it.
