I'm not sure I understand the question, but I think it is: "if you're going for a 1 rax gasless FE, I feel you can't react well to nexus first. How about making a gas, then not mining out of it unless you need to"
Well, I'd have to say it's because against certain builds, you want to quickly get up to 3 rax and a bunker, and losing 75 minerals + mining time earlier than you need to hurts your economy-- it delays your CC, and the quicker you get mules, the quicker you can recover. Terran usually tries to go for the fastest expand possible against Protoss, and inability to effectively pressure a 15 nexus is one of the implicit prices of a gasless FE.
If you expand with a gas, you might as well mine some of it and make a tech lab ->reaper or a reactor-- it won't delay your expo that much and will give you more flexibility.

What time should I scan my opponent's base for each matchup?

14cc
Do you go 14rax or 15rax? I find when I go 15rax I have to cut an SCV so when my first barracks finishes I can make a marine. Am I doing it wrong?
For reference: (I'm lagging the whole game) drop.sc/196376

It's amazing how broken roach bling ling timing push is. Obviously nothing happens and meanwhile Z's get free wins. Feels like TvZ when WoL came out except now Terran is getting fucked.

Can someone give me the mkp build where he makes a timing attack with bio and blue flame hellions? Its such a cool build and i wanna play a hyper aggressive style vs zerg. Oh and replays are nice too

I literally have no idea how to beat infestors. Recently swapped to terran, got placed into masters (Was a high masters protoss for a bit).
I go marine tank, but I just lose all my bio to infestors. I don't know how to combat this, as when I add medivacs they still die.

About stimpack.
On wiki teamliquid site it says that it takes 10 hp off marines and 20 for marauders, which is correct.
Lasts 15 seconds, I think its correct too.
However, it says movement+attack speed increased by 50%. Well, marines initial speed is 0.86 sec. Then when I use stim why does it say -0.29? If its 50% shouldn't it say 0.43, which is half of 0.86?
Same goes for marauders. Their attack speed is 1.5. When stim is used, it becomes -0.5, why not -0.75?
So its not really 50% is it?
Thanks everyone

Thanks everyone No you are wrong. It says they move and shoot 50% faster. 100%+50%=150%. Nuff said.
EDIT: EZPZ example. Marauder shoot 1.5. In 3 seconds regular marauder shoots 2 times, stimmed marauder shoots 3 times. 3/2=1.5=150%

Increased attack speed means 100% -> 150%. Attack speed that's displayed is the time interval, i.e. period. Not frequency. To achieve half the period, you would have to double the frequency, i.e. 100% -> 200%, that would be 100% increase in attack speed.

I'm not gonna watch your reps, but this pack contains almost exclusively mech replays of top masters t (except for ~50% of the tvp games) that you can maybe learn from: http://drop.sc/packs/1052

Build a lot of Tanks and focus fire the infestors. Some ghosts can also help aggainst a lot of infestors.

It's hard indeed. Especially when attacking into infestors. If you know he's gonna attack you, just siege your tanks slightly in front of your marines and target the infestors. If you're gonna attack into him, leap frog with your tanks(unsiege like 1/3 of them at a time).

I'm making the push from platinum to diamond, and I have a couple of questions:
- If playing bio vs marine-tank, should I use pure mass marine and medivac, or have marauders as well?
- Can a forge fast expand vs Terran be punished? If so, what's the best way?

Bio vs biomech is sub par but if you must, mixing in marauders is the right choice.
Pvt 15 nexus forge can typically be punished only if you took a 13 gas or blind cheesed him ie 11/11. Otherwise just take an earlier third and don't worry about him pressuring you early-- he can't.

I really wish Blizz would fix our late game.
Trying to get back into the game after I quit for a couple months due to a lack do wanting to deal BL/Infestor HT/Collsi. Its so enfuriating microing your ass of the whole game only to watch the game timer hit 15 minutes and know your fucked.

I disagree. I've punished lots of nexus first forge by bunker rushing, and/or engineering block if you get there early. The bunker rush is pretty big though. When the Nexus is building, you can't actually have a large enough vision (usually for zerg bunker rushes, there's OL's that'll spot the bunker), so you can put it out of the range of the vision. Also, I like to do a 5 rax opener if I've taken no gas. If the toss gets greedy, with 1-2 gates, even with 2-3 cannons, you can break it pretty easily.
