Terran players, just 1 rax expo with a wall at the low ground They have to blind counter the marine build. What choice do they have? Okay, really not sure if serious. Protoss has the strongest and widest array of 1 base pushes and you're by no_freaking_means the most vulnerable race against all-ins - that'd be zerg by five thousand miles (at all levels.) And yes, there are several protoss players reaching GM with nothing but timing pushes (IIRC there's even a mid GM toss on EU only doing 4g.)
What is this GM 4 gater's ID ?

LOL ONLY SWEDISH PLAYERS BEAT HIM <3

love when people try this in tvt, if u keep a scout outside there base and see the call down, 1 bunker and 4 marines plus pulling marine stops this pretty easy and free win

I'm not sure placing a forcefield on the ramp is considered "great micro". Yea 1rax FE would be a nice mindgame for Terran. Just have to be sure to prevent a later scout by Toss on whether or not the supply drop was used.
If you read the OP he specifically says that you just wait for FF's to wear off and still win. The only way the toss can stop is "with great micro"

The only way the toss can stop is "with great micro" I did read the OP and he is wrong. As long as you scout it, you will have enough sentries to block him out of your base forever (you will get the 4th sentry before he forces his way through).
If you bothered to read a couple of what people discussed in this thread, you would've seen replays and links to videos on how to stop this as Protoss. It's not very hard.

I was rather annoyed at the lack of progress on the ladder I was just not getting promoted because I only play 4 or 5 games a night, thought this would be fun to switch to Terran and just mass games.
Thought not a certainty, I'm pretty sure that a lot of people are aware of this build, they didn't get into my base to scout as I did wall off properly, but they pretty much hard-countered it. Whenever I hit a player who was unfamiliar with it it annihilated them.

This sounds like a demoralizing all-in that would make me wanna rage quit and stop gaming.. and you just posted it on the internet.. I think i hate you.. grr...
its beautiful but.. GRRR!!!

I believe Terran has far more, since they can access more of their tech tree rapidly. That said, Protoss still has a lot of powerful builds. One basing shouldn't be as powerful as it is. It is not only not really that fun to play, but also it isn't fun to watch, which is why the GSL and such get big macro maps with long rush distances, to discourage 1 basing.
There's nothing wrong with 1 basing...it's part of the game, just like cheesing.
GSL is trying to turn every game into 200/200 deathballs with all these macro-based maps.

There is something wrong, it isn't fun to watch. Watching bunker rushes, proxy 2 gates, cannon rushes, 6 pools... ect simply isn't exciting as a decent macro game.
Tournaments need exciting incredible games. The ending of the TSL3 was awesome, the ending of the Dreamhack invitational (MC vs WhiteRa) was very anti-climatic, and it wasn't fun to watch.
And that is that. If SC2 wants to become a real sport, it needs to be exciting, otherwise it is nothing more than minesweeper, another computer game where winning is the only thing that matters so it can be fun for someone to play, but isn't fun to watch.

Yeah thanks for posting this, you have pretty much ruined sc2 for me, i used to enjoy zvt.

Nothing beats watching players waiting till 200 food and one big clash and gg. Oh my god so exciting.

like i stated before, if u scout this its an easy gg because you know whats coming...

I've seriously played 6 Zergs today (almost in a row). I started getting bored and reverted to this strat. Went 2-0. So apparently it still works (mid-masters).

I skipped most of the posts in this thread, but now that I have read this thread.. if I see the supply call down you know its this build. I think from there you should be able to get out enough lings/prepare appropriately to deal withe pending attack.
|
if no call down its probably not this build made that mistake once lol
|
Wtf this topic is still first on SC2 STRATEGY... Please next time when u'll see an other "YaA's build" don't share it...

So anyway I was kind of tired of all the people saying this build didn't work anymore etc... Especially Diamond and under players ^^ So I took my friend's account and laddered it from diamond to master in about 20 games (17-3) or something. I started losing a bit more at mid masters something like that (but still >50% W/L). I wonder if I could go back in GM league :D Anyway, to all the people saying that it isn't working anymore : you're just not doing right !

How do you live with yourself + Show Spoiler +Jkay =] but that's really surprising... this build is not hard to execute at all -.-' you only need like 40apm lol

Of course that's boring... what IS fun to watch tho is a long macro game with battles throughout. Macro games can have the "1 base excitement" half the people enjoy, while also continuing for a long time. I can assure you that no one likes 20 minutes games where both players sit to themselves content on 2 or 3 bases, that abruptly end with one battle.

Meh, I just put down my (anti hellion) spine crawlers earlier when I don't clearly scout that something is not a marine/scv all in. Spine crawlers and a drone pull hurt this ... a lot.
