So I am brand new to this website. Been playing SC2 since it came out though. I am trying to step up my game and came here looking for help. First off really simple question. How do I post in the strategy forum? I cant find where to create a new thread. Granted I have gotten most of the answers I wanted just by searching the threads. But it would be nice to know how to create a thread. And its bugging me that I cant find it.
Hi, welcome to TL!
I'm not aware of any restriction of posting threads in the strategy forum, there should be a 'create new topic' button in the header row of the page.

If it's not there I guess there is a requirement, though I can't find any reference to one if there is.
Before making a thread though, you do need to do some reading or it'll just be closed, as there're quite a few guidelines to make sure that the strat forum isn't filled with threads which will take up the time of those trying to help, without the user first trying to put in their own effort.
The first thread you should read before creating your own (and definately check out the link Excludos posted ) is the SC2 Strategy Forum Guidelines. If you don't follow the rules in that thread any post you make will likely not be up to the standards and be closed. After that I'd adive checking other threads to get an idea of how they meet the guidelines if you're unsure.
Next port of call should be the The HotS Zerg Help Me Thread which unfortunately has a very lacking OP at the moment but is still very useful for getting help.
Before posting though I'd strongly advise you narrow your question down, because otherwise those who can help you will find it more challenging to actually identify what you need help with, and maybe the answers they give won't actually help. For instance, in this thread you mentioned you've mentioned you die to MMM and struggle with cost efficiency. If you could narrow that down you'd maybe get better answers.
For instance:
When in the game do you struggle - Hive tech, getting stuck in lair tech? What composition(s) are you trying? MMM but what exactly - drops, with WMs, early pushes, late game max, turtling? What exactly do you think is the cause of your issue? Don't say balance, lol.
So an example issue (would need replays and a bit more analysis for it's own thread) would be 'Against MMM I'm struggling to reach my hive tech, as ling/bling/muta doesn't seem to be able to deal with the Terran push and I have to spend my resources trying to stay alive instead of getting to Ultralisks.'
Sorry if this sounds kind of daunting, I know it's not a simple reply but I hope it helps.

Standard worker AI. Nothing you can do except babysit them. Protoss workers seems to be the worst in this regard

How do you control your units when there are loads of medivacs/ overlords/ other flying units all over them?
Thanks.
EDIT: I should point out that I know about control groups. I mean if you wanted to split because banelings were coming towards your bio and you hadn't pre set control groups for tiny splits, for example.

Box then ctrl+shift the Medivacs etc.

Hey guys, I have a question regarding when and how to grab gases. say your goal is to stay on two base for a little while and you want to fully saturate them and grab all 4 gas geysers, i play zerg btw. would you first get 16 in your main and than 16 in your natural and than grab all four geysers? i am lost in that i don't know the timing or order in when to grab gases. do you guys drone up to complete drone saturation on 2 bases so that when you grab your geysers, you dont have to rally the eggs to the extractors?
im not sure if im doing it wrong but when i want to grab gases it usually depends on how much larva i have and if i have enough for say 2 geysers i just rally the drone eggs to the extractors and leave it at that. but this also limits to how many geysers i can grab at one time. so do you players just drone up past 16 on each mineral line to get that extra little mineral boost until you grab your geysers? or would it take too long for that. i usually grab my first geyser pretty early to get speed and than take out from gas and only put them back on gas when speed is done to get lair and once i grab my lair i try to saturate my other 3 geysers before lair is finished but i find that i can only saturate 2 and than i have to wait for another spawn larva to pop, what do you guys think?

It largely depends on what build you're doing (i.e. 2 base muta into a third or fast 3 base) and what build your opponent is doing (playing macro or rushing). Rallying into geysers sounds inefficient unless you have the timings worked out exactly. Whatever you're doing, you should note down your gas timings so they aren't random. If you aren't doing the same thing every game, it will be much harder to spot where you can improve your build. Also, I would use bullet points because your post is all over the place.
I don't main zerg so I'll leave the specifics for someone who does...

Question on Hallucinations...
When I go into a replay and watch my hallucinated units from the opponent's camera view, there is a gray timer bar (the same as the Broodling or Locust timer) under the HP bar, despite the absence of nearby detection. Can the opponent see this in the game? No player would be fooled by a Colossus with a timer under its health bar, even if it wasn't translucent.
I've been through many replays in HotS and the "opponent cam" always shows a timer under the HP bar of hallucinated units, detection or not.

I've been through many replays in HotS and the "opponent cam" always shows a timer under the HP bar of hallucinated units, detection or not. Unless this change happened in last 24 hours, nope. It appears exactly like the unit. If you're looking from their cam you can also see the status of your upgrades, but this would be impossible for them to see in game.

What are people talking about when they say "I'm 1250 point Masters Protoss" Is this not a reference to their MMR? If so, is this not disengeous because you can't actually see your MMR?

They're talking about how many points they have in their ladder.

Any advice for how to deal with Protoss blink stalkers blinking into your basis via the side/back as terran? They totally bypass my force and cause havoc!
Thanks.

Does GM open tomorrow or next week?

You have to keep track of where his army is, spread the supply depots across your base so you see everything. When you see his army, you can simply catch it.

Matchmaking -> View Ladder.

It's always 1 week after the ladder resets. So I'm pretty sure it's tomorrow.

When you're playing multiplayer you're put in to a division inside a league, a set of 100 players in either Bronze, Silver, Gold, Platinum, Diamond, Master or Grandmaster - this system is known as the ladder. Inside each division you will have points, which you gain for winning and lose for losing, this isn't your MMR but rather just a way to compete in your division and a rough guide to how well you're doing that season.
So, when someone says a 1250 point masters protoss they mean they have 1250 points this season in their division, and that their MMR has placed them in the master league. Additionally, a higher point score tends to mean you win a lot, so you're probably higher in the MMR range for that league than someone with a lower score (though that isn't certain, it's just a rough guide).
For a comprehensive explanation of the ladder system, check out this thread. It's awesome.

Maybe I am communicating poorly here. I know how the ladder works. What I am asking is; if someone wanted to find this point rating, where do they look?
EDIT: Nevermind, answered above. For some reason I had never actually seen it on the ladder itself, but there it is.

Where can I get some up to date hots versions of some safe builds for PvP/PvZ? I'm thinking I am forced stargate in PvZ to prevent them from just massing muta so I was thinking maybe a version of the Naniwa pressure into stargate and PvP I am thinking going into 3 stalker rush followed up with stargate on smaller maps and 2gate robo expand into stargate on bigger maps.
Again I'm not really sure if these are even a good option since everything is fairly out of date for the meta game currently.
Any help with up to date builds would be amazing as a lack of solid build order for each match up is really really hurting my play.
