I seem to do fine on 2 base (keeping my minerals low and avoiding supply blocks), but when I hit 3 base economy my resources (particularly my minerals) seem to completely skyrocket. What should I be doing to avoid situations like this? Perhaps add in a lot more production facilities? Secondly, should I even really worry about working on my micro such as trying to do multi-prong drops and what not or should I really just focus on perfecting my macro til I reach the higher leagues? What i did to get to diamond was just play the game however i wanted i didn't solely focus on macro. If i wanted to do a double warp prism drop 1 on nat and 1 main i would try it. Basically my advice is just do what you want. What would you rather? get to diamond and be good at only macro and suck at everything else, or get to diamond and be decent/good all round? The more you do multi pronged drops etc the better and faster you'll get. and yeah when or slightly before you new base econ kicks in add more production. When you flood over 1k minerals what i do is half my minerals into production, so im protoss and i have 2k minerals i'll spend 1k into gateways or ill take a new base and my money generally goes low from there.

I was under the impression they still released replays? It would be nice to muck around with especially given the new resume from replay feature. Alternatively where are the best places for heart of the swarm gm/high master level replays other than replay packs here on tl?

You can find your 2v2 replays, like any other replay, in the replay menu in your client. If you are looking for replays from pro gamers, you'll hardly find any, because competetive sc2 is all about 1v1. If you find replays from pro gamers they'll probably just be trolling and it won't be useful if you want to learn how to play 2v2. There once was a streamer that claimed to be the best 2v2 player, but I don't really remember his name. Since, like I said, competetive sc2 is all about 1v1 there are very few good streamers that stream 2v2 if any.

They are fast and can respond to an attack with better production. Ive triend getting my third base without pressuring the zerg and going for a 200 army. I try to defend from their attacks but Im finding it very hard (Im top plat). Is this possible, or is it the fate of protoss to pressure the zerg or die... Thanks! Zerg will almost always be able to attack first. Protoss units cost more, take longer to build, and it's just sort of natural in the match-up, particularly if you FFE. Towards the mid-game, though, Protoss almost always reaches T2 & T3 tech faster, and has the opportunity to make the first really serious offensive. A lot of people argue this is the only place Protoss has a chance, because once both sides get to T3, Zerg is unbeatable on the remax (build times, etc). I disagree, but I use carriers a lot, so w/e.

i have a question about morphing drones into buildings. I often see pro player streams where they create two vespene extractors in a split-second, selecting multiple drones, where the nearest drone then morphes into the extractor. I tried to replicate this process with several shift-holding methods. But nothing comes close to the "pro technique". When i try to build multiple spincrawlers for example, holding down only the hotkey and not pressing shift at all, it works like a charm. But this works only for spinecrawlers an nothing else. Can anyone explain the right technique?

I believe you can select multiple drones and just build the extractors without having to press shift. As long as number of drones >= equal to the number of gas geysers, drones will automatically morph into them hope i answer your question! have a nice day

thank you very much for your answer, but i already tried it. As is said, when i try your method building multiple spinecrawlers it works, but not with any other building. Here is a video of catZ doing exactly what i mean (@00:09:15) http://www.twitch.tv/rootcatz/b/386814684 I'm using the grid layout, but i dont think that really matters.

Question the first: How long does it take, from warp-in, for a HT to have energy for storm. Question the second: In searching for the answer to that question on liquipedia, I came across this: Patch 1 (version 0.3.0.14093) Phase Shift: Ability was removed from the game. and it made me curious. What was Phase Shift?

What was Phase Shift? It's 45 seconds from warp in to storm. Energy regenerates at 0.5625 per second for most units with energy. Phase Shift made a targetted unit unable to attack or be affected by most abilities, or to attack or use abilities for 8 seconds.

If you have a good endgame skytoss army, you can go ahead and engage. If you're army consists of mostly ground units: don't. Either try to bait him out of position with drops and being active with your army, or if you're far ahead you can start throwing money at him and hope you'll be able to dwindle him down. You'll also need to free up some supply so you can transition over to air, so suiciding a couple of units to harass or trade is generally ok, but never go in and lose your army in an all out battle. That will most likely not yield you enough time to remax before he's either mowed down your bases, or fortified himself so far forward on the map it will be impossible to do anything.

vikings do 14 dmg x2 vs armour. So, 28 total. Colossus has 350 hp including shields. 350/28 = 12.5. Am I correct in assuming that it takes 13 viks to 1 shot a coli and 7 to 2 shot a coli? On April 06 2013 00:32 FirstGear wrote: In a worker (scv/drone) 1v1 just auto attacking eachother how am I most likely to win, is it purely luck or do things like a attack move near the enemy or attacking the specific target give someone an advantage? I think it is whoever attack first. You can tell who will win the fight by looking at the health bars. With drones and probes, you can run away for a second and then attack again. You will win the fight due to regen.
