In general, you have worker scout, then first unit poke, then full scouting unit. In the case of protoss, this is usually probe, then stalker poke, then observer or phoenix (depending on robo or stargate).
With the worker scout, check timing of first production facility (early pool, rax, etc), check for gasses, or check for fast expand. The first unit poke should give you an idea of a follow-up expansion if there wasn't a fast expand, and/or initial unit composition. Occasionally you will get lucky and see tech choice, but rarely. The full scout should reveal everything you don't know up until that point, and should patrol to give you warning of when your opponent moves out.
For Terran, scv scout, marine poke, and then scan usually, sometimes viking. For Zerg, drone scout, zergling poke, and then overseer.

Hey all. This one has been bothering me for a while now.
When you want to remove a specific unit from a control group...
I know if you left click its portrait you can remove it that way, but I want to remove a specific unit on screen (so it will stay on xlnaga tower and not follow in control group).
Is this possible?

Shift click it and quickly hit ctrl 1 again (or whatever control group you have it on). There is no "remove from group" hotkey like there is "add to group".

Ive seen on streams overlords with 3 eyes instead of 2, and strange looking supply depos... what are these from?

Those are rewards from levelling up with the new experience system. To see all the rewards go in to your profile, click rewards and then the skins tab. It's worth just noting for clarity, they don't do anything different.

Early harassment and aggression is a huge part of playing terran (and by "early", I mean in the first 5-6 minutes of the game), and my playstyle is more a macro 10 minute timing push with less harass and more army building, should I switch to Toss? As I understand it, my tendency to go for the 110 supply push and quick tech up is far more in line with a Toss mentality than Bio Terran (I hate seige play, so I go early game bio into mid game Thor). Plus, unlike Terran where I hate the seige tanks, I actually like all the Toss units... thoughts? I could really use some advice here

Provided your pc could manage it, you could probably run it from a virtual machine but I've not tried it. Did just test running two straight up and you can't do that.

Anyone know of the new spawning position rules for the 1v1 maps?
For example, in WoL, they made Antiga Shipyard cross spawn only. Would like to know how the spawn locations for all the 1v1 maps in HotS.

No, your unranked mmr starts at whatever your ranked one is at the time, then it begins to diverge from there. No separate mmr's for different races unfortunately. As for the weird match history, I have no idea.
So if your unranked mmr starts at masters (because your ranked one is at masters), and you play a different race in unranked and drop your mmr to plat for example, does that make your ranked mmr plat as well or does your ranked mmr stay masters?
