My question is, what should I focus, the queen or the drone `? Depends what your goal is with the drop and where his army is positionned. For the sake of discution here let's assume your opponent has a very good reaction time. If his army is rather close by, if you focus the queen he will be able to kite his queen toward his army and your drop will be innefective. However if his army is rather far you can send 1 zealot on the queen, forcing her to move or die as your zealots get into their mineral lines. Assuming you have charge at that time, zealots will be faster than drones and you will be able to chop a lot of them. Killing a queen will most likely set back the zerg in production by missing injects and it will put him behind, as zerg need every bit of injects they can get. Killing the drones will force the recreation of the drones and hinder their econ for a little while. The way zerg's larvae works, they can remake the lost drone in a single morph so if you do aim for the drones first, make sure you have a follow up push to punish his overdroning. Also focusing on the drones will force you to make attack paths from drone to drones, as attacking the queen then the drones only requires a simple Amove. As a general responce i can,t say which is best because it's all about your final goals. i will say tho that once zergs get on T3 their army become VERY slow!!!! You can then use this fact to make 2-3 warp prisim and drop a 2-3 place at the same time. At your level your opponent will likely have all their core army on 1 hotkey and not a lot of spines to defend that which will cause their demise...

Someone suggested 1 rax FE. I say just go 14 CC Flash style, and experiment with that. 2Rax on 9 supply is something I like to do a lot actually when I practice as T. I don't go into the game intending to win that rush though, it's better if the Z defends and you expand behind it. Sets the tempo, and you can do anything from there. Have you tried Marine/Marauder styles yet? That seems to be the trending thing now. Can hit a faster timing with M+M and use the Marauders to defend your marines as opposed to Tanks which take a longer time to make plenty of. This would go under 1 rax FE though.

As such, it is possible to completely dodge the best player in the group, get wins off the weakest player in the group, and advance by rematching the player you lost to who had to play the best player in the group. To give a highly exaggerated example, say the group looks like: IMMVP Bronze player Diamond player Platinum player Assume, MVP will 2-0 everyone he plays, and the Bronze player will lose 0-2 every set. The focus is on the Diamond and Platinum player who are similarly skilled. Say the first set, the Diamond player wins 2-0 vs the Platinum player. Not a terribly surprising result. He then goes on to play MVP while the Platinum player faces the Bronze player. They now rematch one another with overall scores of 2-2 in games, 1-1 in sets. Now say the Platinum player wins the rematch with a score of 2-1. He advances out of the group, 2-1 in sets and 4-3 in games. The Diamond player is knocked out 1-2 in sets, 3-4 in games. The thing is, their head-to-head record is 1-1 in sets, 3-2 in games favouring the Diamond player. Also, 2 of the 4 overall victories by the Platinum player were essentially free wins, while 2 of the overall 4 losses by the Diamond player were against someone the calibre of MVP. I'm am not proposing a better system, nor do I think the current set up is incredibly imbalanced. Just wondering what other people think.

Is there already a mod like this?: when dark shrine finishes, instead of just making a random sound, the computer actually says: "dark shrine completed" etc (same for other buildings, maybe even units that don't talk etc like lings and probes etc etc) ('cause I know you can replace sc2 sounds with scbw sounds, why not replace some of the sounds so that it actually helps with macro/mechanics etc?)

The cannon and pylons are impossible to take down while building because you can't target them or you can only target them with 1-2 drones. Should I cancel my hatch at the last possible second and grab it at the third? I tried to keep it, but it was basically impossible to take down 2 cannons with only a queen and like 6-8 zerglings. And can't really build up a ling force or something because those cannons kill your natural pretty fast. (if needed I can post a replay, it's played pretty badly... but managed to win anyway, I just busted his front with banelings/lings.)

I keep a drone on the probe all the time, but often enough they still manage to get it. Or I sometimes retreat the drone, when I thought I was out of danger, but again, it's practically impossible to stop him from getting pylon/cannon up with just a drone. The cannon and pylons are impossible to take down while building because you can't target them or you can only target them with 1-2 drones. (if needed I can post a replay, it's played pretty badly... but managed to win anyway, I just busted his front with banelings/lings.) Well that would be considered a cannon rush, the best way is to fight it during morphing. I'm quite sure Pulling 5-8+ drones > Losing Hatchery/Cancelling Hatchery. I usually keep my 9 overlord around my natural to make sure there is nothing tricky, or chase the probe with 1 drone until you get your pool up. In actually dealing with the cannon rush, you have to pull 5-7 shortly to immediately after you see him place a Pylon down. To actually cancel a constructing cannon you need FOUR drones attacking one, so for every cannon building you need 4 drones attacking it. How I defend is I have 1 drone always chasing his probe, 1-2 drones that are on HOLD position in threatening cannon locations. (I.E. a location where 4+ drones are unable to attack a Cannon, that is a very prime location) Get Drones holding in position to deny the cannon from even being placed! If his probe comes too close to my other drones I'll switch quickly to try to snipe it, effectively ending the rush. The probe isn't a priority though, never chase it. Always focus down the constructing cannons with drones. As for responses.... my initial Overlord is usually at the Protoss natural so it depends what he's doing. If he is expanding, I take my 3rd, and place my next Overlord (or my 9 Overlord at my natural) heads over to the 3rd to scout for possible cannons. Credit where its due to CatZ. A great instructional guide on facing and defending cannons. A recommended watch!

1) What is the hotkey to select all idle workers simultaneously 2) How do you assign camera hotkeys (having the camera go to a specific spot on the map by pressing a hotkey)? Thanks in advance.

Now, if you press F5, the camera will move to the location that it was at when you pressed Control-F5.

Just a general question, do you guys normally automatically save all replays? I know there is an option to "save each replay", but I dont tick it. What I do is pick the ones I want to save and do it manually. What about you? I would love to hear. Maybe its better to save every single replay? For educational purpose maybe?

I save all of mine because I use sc2gears to keep track of stuff like winrates vs each race and on each map. You can only do that sort of analysis if you keep all your replays.

In PvZ, if you scout the zerg getting his natural and speedlings, but are denied future scouting of third timing, gases, unit comp, etc., what is the safe proper response if you have FFE'd? Should you full wall-off without pylons to be safe against baneling busts and/or get X number of cannons at the front? How many cannons? In general, is there a "safest" way to play that won't put you very far behind until you can get some form of scouting?

The obvious answer is that you shouldn't let yourself be completely denied scouting of the third going down. If you've seen gas, though, and are totally unable to confirm anything at all, then the safe play is to chrono out Sentries and Stalkers and go up to 3 cannons at your front. I wouldn't necessarily say that a full wall-off is necessary; I'd only do it on a map like Metropolis or Ohana where I want a full wall-off anyhow since I'll be breaking down the rocks to my third and can use that to get out. If it turns out the Zerg was taking a fast third, though, you'll be a bit behind due to the extra cannons.

What does it do other than analyzing replays? What do you mean, "worth it"? It's free software and doesn't use much in the way of system resources -- there is literally no cost for it to be worth. It's just a question of whether you want to use it or not. It doesn't do anything other than analyzing replays. That's what it's for: It's a replay analysis tool. You can use it to keep track of your winrate on maps, vs different races, what your APM/EAPM are and how they change over time, what time of day you perform best, what day of the week you perform best, and so on and so on and so on.
