Toss here, every single time I stop a 6 pool, it just seems super easy for the zerg to catch back up and beat me. I stop it by putting a canon in my mineral line and stopping him from there, but afterwards ill do a 3 or 4 gate attack, and he always has spines or roaches to defend it, if I play a macro game, they just get back up to 70 drones and its an even game. What should the follow up be when stopping a 6 pool?

Im a platinum zerg, and when i was bronze/silver and six pooled and, obviously failed, I always found 2gate zealot follow ups to always defeat me, even 3 gates just streaming zealots while chrono'ing to hurry it up a bit.

Alternatively a +1 zealot timing to 2 shot lings because the last ting Z worries about after failing at cheesing is their +1 carapace upgrade prevent them being 2 shotted - very powerful.

It's not worth it unless you're getting other units that benefit from it i.e. mass zerglings / ultras.

Why is it necessary to hold shift for the backspace inject method? Shouldn't it be sufficient just to hold down the inject button because this should normally count as multipley hits on the key?

When I watch a replay of MC I see him hotkey all his gateways to 3,4,5,6,7,8. Alot of pros I see them hotkey stuff like that. Why is that? Is it a habit from BW?

Well if it is necessary its because it wouldn't work if you didn't?


It probably means that you don't have to reselect your queens after bouncing to the next base. I know i hold down shift ... if i do it its probably because not doing it doesn't work ...

I press control group 1 with ring, 2 with middle and 3-5 with index finger. I have seen people using 1-2 with ring, 3-4 with middle and 5-6 with index. Which is better? Or is there some other way I should press hotkies? How pros do it? With my method I can't really press numbers 6-0.

When does a "normal" HT come out with storm in PvT? When does a "fast" HT come out with storm? I saw a thread with a ton of timings but I seem to have misplaced it, anyone know what I'm talking about?

mass muta always crushing me, i wanna ask about upgrades.
should i aim to get 3-3 for my blink stalker before shield upgrade? or 1 shield upgrade is more important?

The idea with blink stalkers is that they, in a perfect world, take zero health-damage and only shield-damage, so if you can micro like that you should always go for shield-upgrade. The reason for most pro-gamers going for armor is that especially zealots (which are like the most used unit) have a greater health-then-shield ratio, and therefor benefit more from armor. But, if you are going for blink-stalker+archon then shield is alot better.
tl:dr If only stalkers (or archon) = shield+attack. If normal army (stalkers AND zealot, sentry, HT, colossi or whatever) = armor+weapon .

Let's assume a pack of hellions invade your base. A lot of people seem to be pulling harvesters them off mining, but in my experience, that just lines them up and makes them even easier to roast (even in very high level games this happens), whereas a mineral line that's just left mining will move around all the time, and virtually never line up more than 1-2 harvesters.

So I ask, what's the rationale for pulling workers? Wouldn't just leaving them be more cost-effective?

Basic Opening/Timings Guide is my go-to reference for timings, but there aren't explicit HT timings given. I'll defer on that to someone with a better game sense.

If you're always getting crushed, I HIGHLY recommend col.RSVP's guide to defending muta is pvz... I thought it was an excellent guide, so I casted some of the replays in it, highlighting the things he said.

Hi guys, I am a zerg player and I have a GSL ticket for S1 and S2 (2012), but I only see the Zerg games.

I want to find PvT games where the Terran goes 1/1/1 strategy, whatever variation, so I can watch, analyse and help some friends (or at least convince them it isn't OP, just really hard, as 4 gate is hard etc), but for that I want a game at GSL because at the korean level I think players do everything better, specially defending, and I want some game from this year because I only have 2012 tickets and also because the metagame changes so often, no point on analysing an old strategy.

So, the more the better, I am not sure there was one game with such strategy this year, but I'd think some Protoss/terran that follows GSL would at least know that at S1 Code A player X did it against someone? Or maybe you can affirm that no one used this strategy this year at GSL, it will help as well, so I don't even dig it through the VODs.

Hi, protoss here, i'd say im pretty good at PvT but i have a big problem defending drops when i get to 3+ bases, especially if they drop more than one location at once, does anyone have any tips to help me deal with this? Thanks!

It varies a lot depending on what build they open. Really fast HT's with storm come out at 9:30-9:45 though. Pretty much the same as fast colossus.

If you're a terran going gasless FE, what's the proper reaction to scouting a 4gate? It's already too late to get gas and make marauders right?
