Yes it was mentioned during blizzcon, hydras getting a speed boost in the form of an upgrade researchable at hive tech.

Yup! It was mentioned at Blizzcon. In general, when it comes to Zerg unit speed Blizzard said they want to allow upgrades for the Hydralisk (Speed upgrade) and the Ultralisk (Burrowed charge upgrade). To confirm 100%, you'll have to wait for the release.

Hello. I'm new to Starcraft 2. I've been playing mostly single player games against the AI because I suck so much whenever I go online... LOL anyway, I do have lots of questions.

Lets say I have a group of Banelings set to one ctrl group and zerglings set to another. Lets assume I scout an army of marines marauders and medivacs making a b-line to my base.

How long of a delay should there be between my zerglings hitting the mass of marines and my banelings hitting them? Or to put another way, how long should I wait to send in my banelings after sending in an army of zerglings.... assume they start from the same position so you can't dodge the question by saying it's situational or some nonsense like that.

Medivacs. Assuming I went Baneling Speed/Zergling Speed early and I was able to take out all the marines with my bane/ling push, what would be the best way to go about dealing with the left over medivacs... Mutalisks or Infestors? ... I have no idea how to use the infestor lol.

My friends are actually bringing over laptops to play SC2 with me today. My friends set up lame rules like "no rushing until 15 minutes." Is burrowing a bunch of banelings outside my friend's ramp considered a rush? Is it considered cheese? Also, do terran sensor towers detect burrowed units?

When doing a 2v2 with a non-zerg partner, why is it so fun to spread creep into my partners base? I know I shouldn't be doing it but I just can't help myself.

Overseers... when, where, and why?

Fuck Marry Kill. Zerg, Protoss, Terran?

Timing the ling/bane attack: Play more, this will start to come naturally. Ideally you want the lings getting a full surround (extra lings at the retreating side of the surround) at the same time as the banes crash the front. Destiny did a GREAT video about it, Kinda nsfw audio. Here it is:http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=jcQedw7R1zk

Been off-racing as zerg in team games for shits and giggles, had a question about injects. Basically I hotkey all my hatches to 3, and all my queens to 4, and my bases to F keys. So to inject, I simply select '4' for questions, cycle through my bases and inject with each queen there. This works fine in early game, but by late game with 3+ hatches I often get queens running around everywhere and never injecting. How do I combat this, or if I can't, does anybody have any more efficient methods of injecting?

You have a good method of injecting. Gosu players might suggest having your hatches on separate hotkeys but that wouldnt solve your problem. In short you just have to stay aware of where your queens are and move them back to your hatches if you make a mistake. Having all your queens on one hotkey is the way to go. What i do is hotkey my bases to spacebar in options menu to help me do it faster with less button shenanigans.

The easiest fix is just to hit the "stop" hotkey at the end of your inject cycle. Any Queen that you accidentally told to go wandering across the map will only get a couple steps before you tell her to stay put.

I wonder that too. The "Stephano Build" should be quite good to deny an early 3rd of the Protoss. But otherwise I don't recall any solid builds except some roach/ling allin which can be held easily with FF on certain maps -_-

BTW, is there a build order list of LiquidRet? He uses multiple drops in ZvP quite often. Everytime I try that the Protoss attacks me beforethe drop because I'm too late or it's useless/inefficient due him going for a 2 base allin...

Woo...alright I'm going to do my best to answer all of these questions.

The Ling/Baneling thing was already answered, so I'll skip down a bit...

Taking out Medivacs, it's not really a huge deal what you kill it with. If you went for Mutas, kill it with mutas. If you went infestors, kill it with infestors. You have to make the choice whether to go for mutas or infestors of course, but that choice shouldn't be dictated based on medivacs. Both have their ups and downs on killing medivacs but your choice to go whichever unit is better decided for other reasons.

I would suppose putting burrowed banelings outside your opponent's ramp doesn't violate No Rush 15 Minutes if he doesn't walk over them before 15 minutes! trollface.jpg

But seriously, no it shouldn't be a problem, you're not attacking him or anything so...

It's not considered a cheese I believe...I'm not even sure if a REAL baneling bust is considered cheese.

It's fun to spread creep into your allies' base for the same reason Friendly Fire is so fun in any other game. Screwing your teammate over is always fun :D

Overseers are good for detection and scouting. At lair tech, if you really need to scout, you can morph in an overseer rather than waiting for overlord speed, if you really can't wait. Overseers can do a runby, or you can drop a changeling and scout with the changeling. Changelings are kind of dependent on the player though. A really good player might be able to spot it.

Then, if you scout that he's going for some kind of cloak or burrow attack...you can use the overseer as mobile detection.

...hmm fuck marry kill...

Fuck Terran, they're humans of course so I don't think this needs much explanation.
I would marry zerg, or more specifically, Kerrigan. I would pick for fuck but I don't think I can settle for just once :D Being the King of Blades would be pretty cool too.
I'd have to kill the Protoss, but it's no big deal. It'd be how they want to go out anyways.
Done with Team Liquid for a while. Don't expect to find me here.

Any tips for learning to use location hotkeys? I suck at them and I think it might improve my gameplay

A good way to practice is think of what situations and key sequences you need in game, and practice them a bunch in yabot or custom. Because having to think is too slow

lets say you have your new CC as hot key 4 and you main/natura/third bases as f1 f2 f3

situation 1: landing your new inbase cc at your natural..... 4+D+f2+D+leftclick (your liftland key may not be D)
situation 2: just scouted mutas.....f1+selectscv+F+R+f2+scv+F+R+f3+scv+F+R (or whtever your turret hotkeys are)
situation 3: dude dropping marines at your third f3+ctrlclickscv+f2+rightclickmins

etcetc just practice the keysequence a bunch of times, forexample build 1 turret at each base continously untill u have 10 turrets each, next time you scout mutas, your three turrets at 3 bases will go up instantly

Hey!
Well I just bought Starcraft a few months ago and it seems like I'm barely improving. I'm a little better than before that' for sure but I still tend to lose a lot.
I play toss and was wondering how can I improve? The other team always seems to have more of an army than me. :'(

Making supply depots!!!!!
Supply depots are easy to forget because they have no real important uses once you are done with wall off. Pylons are always one your mind because you are constantly looking for warpin locations, overlords same cuz youre thinking man be nice if i had more overlords spotting here, and it doesnt require you to take your vision off main battle to make ovies.

I recommend the ragequit method for training, every time you hear needmoresupply ragequit obviously except for the first supply depot, youll learn to check constantly in no time, and not like ladder points matter anyways

Unfortunately that as a question might be a bit big for the simple questions thread, but addressing specifically why your army might always be smaller is something I can at least begin to cover. I'm going to assume you're Bronze league with no history of RTS and no real understanding of Starcraft as you've not posted otherwise, so don't take anything I say as condescending.

First, the issue with "having stuff" basically comes down to macro. Probes and Pylons as Day 9 would put it. In order to have stuff, you first need to have an economy, which essentially comes down to having workers gather resources for you. You need to focus on constantly producing workers until your bases are saturated optimally, 16 on minerals and 3 in each gas. You also need to ensure you're securing new resource locations at least on par with your opponent (if it is Terran or Protoss, a little different vs Zerg but that shouldn't matter so much yet), or they will have more economy, and so be able to produce more stuff than you.

The other side of this is producing Pylons regularly, while you're supply blocked your opponent may not be and so can be using their production facilties whilst yours are essentially idle. Because of this it's important to both try to ensure that you're making Pylons, sometimes 2 or 3 at a time to ensure that you always have space to keep your buildings working.

The final part of this, which is slightly more in depth, is ensuring that you have enough buildings to produce from. If your money is building up then you need to be using it in either upgrades, tech buildings or more buildings for producing an army. Money sitting around or queued up in production buildings aren't actually helping you at all.

I believe this episode of Day 9 daily is the one that covers this in more detail, but I'm going to be watching it to double check and will edit if needed:

http://blip.tv/day9tv/day-9-daily-184-newbie-tuesday-1-4171700

Edit: Quite an old episode and audio and video are out of sync a bit sadly but so far I think it is the one I was thinking of. Might be worth using two tabs to line up the sound and the video.

Which server are you on? If you have an EU account I will coach you a little bit. When I started playing that was the way to improve quickest, playing with people and talking about the game.

Sadly I'm on the NA servers.
Yes I've bene getting some tips and what not from people and that's what helped me the most but I always encounter new situations where I do not know how to respond too. :'(

Question: In a 2v2, is there a way to share control of a single structure (i.e.: In ZT v PP, can I (as Zerg) control my Terran teammate's supply depot to open and close the makeshift door we have placed in our choke)?

Shared control in team games is all or nothing unfortunately, just have to make sure you trust eachother not to abuse it.
