I assume that it's because of long build times and that both shields and hp are counted for the total health. so for voidray it's 150/60 = appr. 2.5 hp/s per scv, is it correct? the same question for cost, is it resource cost/ hp (without shields)/4? so for voidray 250/150/4 = 0.42 m/hp and 150/150/4= 0.25 g/hp? edited: math ![]() please answer if you know!

I'd say 3 is too much. 2 is probably the right amount (equal resource-wise). You should strive to a number that will allow you to kill a colossus in 2 volleys (8-9 corruptors), or even in 1 volley if there are too many colossi. it is indeed dangerous to overbuild corruptors, these things are not cheap (just like vikings).

I never see a pro do this, usually opting for the 2. Is a 3 rax expand non viable? and if so, why? I dont play terran but I assume it is because you cannot do all of the below at the same time: * constantly produce units out of 3 barracks (with appropriate add-ons) * constantly produce workers out of 1 orbital command * build supply-depots to be able to not be supply-blocked while building previously mentioned units * save up for a brand new command center doing just the first 3 points but not the fourth is an all-in, since you cannot afford to expand, or if you can, that means you did not play optimally, which means you probably could have gotten away with just 2 barracks and still have the same amount of units doing just the last three points and doing the first point "halfway" is unoptimal play. doing just point 1, 3, 4 but not 2 is an allin since your economy will be lower than your opponents doing just points 1, 2, 4 but not 3 is just plain stupid since that will interrupt the progress of point 1 and 2. all 4 points cost money, and assuming that you have 3 barracks (and appropriate addons) and plan to expand, you must do all 4. but you cant afford it. thats why I think 3rax on 1base is an allin.

1. Why is it that many many people call Protoss the "noob race"? Is it because they are strong as individuals? Am I right in saying that in lower level plays, some may be considered weaker then other races (in this case P is always being called noob race), however in high level/professional plays, ALL races, are difficult to master? Is it also because of Force Fields? But doesnt FF require nice placement, hence not all noobs can do it? Noobs only spam them, but pros actually think about positioning? 2. How to deal with Ghosts? I know there are lots of topics on this, but as a Protoss, isn't it difficult when HT is countered by EMP? Not only HT lol your whole P army is countered by EMP. It is hard even more if they cloak. Observer is sniped since they are light, and vikings can kill them too. Then you have no detection and bam, HT energy gone. What is a strategy that you have used that works vs a ghost-heavy terran?

But can you still target and contaminate it? Then it seems to be a bug.

If you let a protoss sit inside his base and build up the perfect army, while you sit in your one base trying to do the same, then protoss is most likely to win. Because this is 90% of games below gold, I guess this would make protoss the easiest race to play there. In top lvl play, in this patch with this metgame, protoss seems to be the race struggling the most to win anything, zerg in a good second with terran dominating absolutely everything. But yes, all races are difficult to master. There is no "shortcut" race to get good at this game.

For instance, contaminating a dark shrine does not prevent the toss player from warping in Dark templars. And contaminating supply depots does not temporarily lower the supply count. I think contaminating pylons to stop the warp field would be a tad too strong, as you could shut down every building that pylon was powering way too easily. EDIT: Contaminating a Nydus worm does not stop that from puking out units either ![]()

This is not a normal 1-1-1 build (no tanks, hits around 11-12 min). Thanks in advance.

Without having been banned myself, I believe you get the same privileges as someone who's not logged in. You can view the forum, but you can't post or reply. I'm unsure about PM, as I've heard stories about people lessening their bans by appealing to the mods.
