I found that playing Stalkers / Zealots against Marauders always fails and does not feel good ;p. I tried Immortals recently and I found they have, after upgrade, 65 DMG against Marauders who are Armored. Seem to be counter units, don't they?

Pic and more details in case I didn't make myself clear: + Show Spoiler + In this Sheth v KawaiiRice game, KawaiiRice kept doing small marine drops behind Sheth's minerals. He would drop 8 marines, pick off some drones, and then either pull back or let them die when Sheth's lings came in to clean it up. Each time, Sheth's lings would attack the marines from the other side of the minerals (near the hatch), which kept funneling them between minerals. It seems like it would be extremely simple to just select a handful of lings and order them to move behind the marines to the side. ![]()

Immortals counter marauders almost directly, they literally melt them. Never build stalkers if he is going pure marauder it takes something like 30 shots for one marauder to kill a zealot. If you see marauder heavy you know to go zealot heavy preferably with charge and start pumping immortals especially with the recent buff.

Is the tiny bit of extra APM just not worth it to save a handful of lings? I'm a top 8 Plat player but I have a horrible win-rate (like 15%) against Terran that's preventing me from moving up. Can anyone recommend any specific strategies or videos? I've read some PvT build orders and strategy discussion on here but I'm looking for a more well-rounded "how to play against Terran" guide. Day9 has a PvT video but it's over a year old, and I'm not sure how relevant it will be with all the patches. Thanks! sounds like the kind of thing where you should post a replay with an in-depth analysis from yourself and ask for help. consider making an [H] thread or stopping by the protoss one: http://www.teamliquid.net/forum/viewmessage.php?topic_id=251528

(fungal does reveal i assume) -does emp do anything to changelings/hallucinations (i know it doesn't reveal creep tumors) -if you lift a cloaked unit with phoenix, and then detection expires (e.g. observer is killed), will phoenix release the target (or will it hold it but it'll be untargetable? =)) so, i actually tested it, and if anybody is interested... 1)pdd can intercept bouncing attack from muta. 2)emp does uncloak units affected by mothership's cloaking field. 3)emp does nothing to changelings/hallucinations. 4)a target lifted by a phoenix will remain revealed for the duration of graviton beam no matter wether detection available or not.

Has anyone faced this? I have lost to it twice today. I don't usually get roaches unless I see some hellion and either way all of my overlords die because 2 queens do not deal sufficient damage. Spore/roach? You should be able to scout for an early starport (probably reactored) with your first ovie sac. If you see more than 2 vikings that should be a big enough tip off. Most players get an early evo anyway. An early factory with not many units is also an indicator of some starport play, though you'll need additional scouting to be sure it's viking and not banshee On September 20 2011 09:46 boon2537 wrote: Since hellion is getting nerfed, TvT mech play will definitely be affected. Do you guys think it's a good idea to stick with an inferior and old gas first to fast banshee and blue flame drop build?, or Should I change up my build and playstyle in general? If I were to change my build, can you guys recommend a good marine tank build or at least tell me a player who consistently plays this style? Thanks in advance ![]() tbh I don't think gas first to fast banshee and blue flame drop build is really that viable; it's kind of like saying 4 gate into dt build. Quite gimmicky. That being said, 4 hellions are still 4 hellions. You should test play it a bit and find out if it's still working for you. If the hellions are too much, you can try a fast banshee and just expand after it. Common marine tanks builds have been around forever. Common ones are probably 2 tank expands and fast pushing, which aren't that complicated to execute, since you essentially open standard 1/1/1 getting 2nd gas at 20ish food (a little before factory is half done, basically as soon as you can after factory has started, and get seige and tanks as money allows for it

Your first one should be in place by 5:00, you should have a supply surplus when you send him in, and you should do it against Protoss at least at about 5:00 to 5:30. 6:00 is good but could come a little late in some situations, but just do it everytime with those 3 parameters above being met.

Use spore crawlers and roach/ling to defend until you can get mutalisks, then pump out as many mutas as possible. Vikings are terrible against Mutas because of the splash damage and landed vikings cant shoot air units.
