So essentially I quit a long time ago... I played in CB, I played in OB, I played for a few months after that.
This is what it was like after I quit:
I had an 800 Rating when the pros were at like 1100 Terran is insanely OP Reapers raped Zerg ZvP was considered balanced, but the games went the same exact way every time, 2gate -> Roaches/Speedlings -> Stalkers/Zealots -> Hydras -> Collosi -> Mass Roaches ZvZ was all Ling Baneling
So I ask you, community of TeamLiquid.NET:
A) What has changed?
B) What is something I can do to get back to my former level of gameplay, because right now- I suck, and I keep viewing my replays, I see what im doing wrong, I just encounter something new every game and it screws me.
C) What is pro level rating now?
D) For those who dont believe me, I currently have a 1700 point bonus pool.
EDIT: Right before I quit, I played random, with my win rates being Terran > Zerg > Protoss (I was a better zerg player, but Terran was just imba beyond belief) but now I just want to get at least decent with one race. Which is the easiest to learn? Im not asking easiest to master, but easiest for me to re-learn.

TvZ has changed a lot. It is a lot more Bio/Marine-Tank oriented, heavy meching seems less popular. Roaches don't suck anymore. No more mass Reapers. 2rax Marine/SCV all in is pretty strong. Zerg generally goes Muta/Ling/Bling.
TvP is pretty much MMM, MMViking, or MMGhost. Toss is usually Gateway/Colossi or Gateway/Templar. There are some newer timing pushes and all ins that are strong. Void Rays are also less of a cheese unit.
TvT is still Tank/Viking oriented. Although there is a lot more Bio play and some people rely on Marines for AA instead of Vikings.
ZvZ, from what I have seen, is less of a ling/bling 1base coin flip. Roach/Hydra and Roach/Infestor are common mid-game unit comps.
ZvP is sometimes Roach/Hydra although I don't follow it closely. Corruptors to deal with Colossi as they can no longer be Feedbacked.
Highest ladder points are ~4k as of right now.

Good news for you, ladder is reseting next week, likely Tuesday morning.
I would play 24/7 until then :D

You're kidding me.... does that mean that I will have to place myself again? yay ill probably be in gold =P
I just need to know how to stop sucking... I know all the right things to do I just cant get my brain to do all of them at the same time...
Which race do you guys suggest I pick up?

ladder isnt resetting that soon, blizzard even said that the werent resetting it with 1.2, but at al later time probably with a new patch.
also just pick whichever race you enjoy playing as the most, nothing else should be of concern when picking it.

TvZ changed dramatically once Foxer came in in GSL2 and showed everyone that marines can be great against everything zerg has if they have tank support. Most matches consist of Marine+Tank against Ling+Baneling+Muta. Reapers suck now.
PvT is similar to how it used to be, but starport all-ins are becoming more popular. Stargate openins are also becoming popular, and a lategame transition to HT is almost mandatory now.
ZvP is the most interesting matchup in my opinion, each side has recently developed a wealth of new builds, strategies, and timing pushes. Zerg will typically go with roach hydra or just mass roach, although mutas are still very popular. Protoss can really follow any tech path and have a good strategy.
ZvZ changes like three times a week, it's hard to put a finger on what's going on. As far as I can tell, there are a ton of different strategies all through the game. Ling/Bling is still present, but roaches are probably a more popular opening. People are also experimenting with very early hatcheries.
TvT has a lot more bio than it used to, and banshees are used very commonly, but it's still tank/viking at its core. The bio has made it a lot more interesting, in my opinion.
PvP is the most retarded matchup in any RTS ever. 4gate rush is the ONLY viable build pretty much; you can either 4gate, or try something creative, lose, and decide you should have 4gated instead.
As far as what race you should learn, Terran is probably the easiest to learn. It has less of the funny macro mechanics the other races have, and is the most 'standard' as far as the standard RTS race goes.

I think I want to get into Protoss because its the only race none of my IRL friends play. I hate mirror matchups =P

Ehh I don't think PvP is ONLY 4 gate. Adelscott has a nice delayed gas fe opener that works well against 4 gate. Also I've done some alright 3 gate robo builds (which involve getting 4 sentries, ff the ramp so they can't attack till i get a collo or two). Don't forget cannon rush -> 4 gate
Also I've seen some stuff work with 3 gate blinkstalkers vs 4 gate.. but I've never done it.

Race balance is in my opinion pretty fine. IF there is a problem, zerg may have problems holding off very, very early rushes/cheeses/all-ins but that's pretty much it. Terrans are not broken, if Zergs survive early game they become very strong and protosses need to learn how to play and they do well (and by that I mean, knowledge is power).
Humm, pros are somewhere at just below 4000 diamond at the moment I'd say.
Matchups from protoss (and my own) point of view: PvP - the ultimate cheese/all-in survival test. If you can survive the initial cheese/all-in attempt, you'll most likely win. Note, some protosses do actually play "normally", meaning I have seen fast expanding protosses etc. As default tho you should expect something to come your way within first 7-8 minutes. Longer games turn usually into a "War of the Worlds" -thing with colossus vs colossus as the standard atm.
PvT - Balance on the razors edge. Make enough units to survive (or do enough damage to keep his army size low), tech up before terran bio balls get too big/strong to survive with basic units and do enough economy to not fall behind.
PvZ - Your goal is to prevent a zerg economy explosion from happening. Keep Zerg economy in check with whatever means necessary.
I'm happy with the current balance.
What can you do to get back to your old levels? Well, play I guess. I'd choose one race you'll stick with, unless you really want to go random. Sticking with one race makes you learn faster.
