This is my first time playing an RTS game. I played WC3 but only for DotA and... have always been an MMO player.
Firstly, I played a little bit in the beta where I got pawned all the time. But before release, I watched a lot of pro-games from husky hd and day9 and made it to gold league at release. It took a long time but eventually I was able to climb to rank 1 gold and from there to platinum. Now, I was able to hold my own pretty well against low platinum/high gold but there seems to be a sudden increase in skill, and I have been performing extremely poorly.
I have included a replay pack of me being noob in ~11 games. Oh, and I play zerg.
Any feedback/comments/criticisms would be greatly appreciated. I find zerg tough to play as I feel as if there are so many things to be done, that, sometimes I forget to set my ovies to generate creep and spread creep tumours. etc.
Thanks.
Edit: Oops, sorry about that. Forgot to add link to replays

i think you forgot to post a link to your reps.

I don't think anyone will help you unless you ask specific question or post replay.

Sorry about that. Link added.

I'm a terran player but some general advice is to learn how to better analyze your replays. I learned a lot of what to look for by watching trump's replay analysis videos.
You may not have watched those since I think he stays to terran commentary but the basic approach he uses is really good, watch a section then rewind and ask yourself what you could have done differently.
Since it appears you forgot the replay link, and you didn't really ask specific questions, you probably won't get specific advice.

Please edit your OP to speculate on why you're losing your games. Do you really think the only reason is your discipline with Creep spread?

Well... if I knew why... I wouldn't be here...

Keep in mind that getting promoted doesn't have any impact on who you'll be playing, as your hidden ranking that is used to match you against people doesn't change at that point. So your opponents didn't suddenly become harder, they're just as good as they were right before you got into Platinum.

Most of the time, if you're not a diamond player and you're losing, then your macro is lacking.
Step 1: Play 2 weeks with the goal of never getting supply blocked. Watch all your replays and note what you were doing when you got supply blocked. Big battles? Didn't make enough ovies before your Roach Warren / Spire popped? Take note, fix. Don't worry about winning or losing, as right now you're getting better at one of the most important aspects of the game.
Step 2: Play 1 month where all you do is keep your money low (and you don't get supply capped). Your minerals need to be under 600 and your gas under 200. Minerals skyrocketing with no gas to spend? Expo / drones / spine crawlers / zerglings. Watch your replays for when you get over 600/200. What were you doing? Watching battles? Stop that for now. Macro, HARDER. Don't worry about winning or losing, right now you're training yourself for the future. Don't worry about army composition that much, just learn HOW to spend.
Step 3: Play 2 weeks where all you're focusing on is effective scouting (AND not getting supply capped AND keeping your money low). Run lings up and down ramps. Suicide overlords at appropriate times, get an overseer or 2 and start doing changeling runs every 90 seconds or so (every second time you inject larva, in other words). When you watch your replays, use ONLY your vision, pause the tape and ask yourself "Do I know what he's doing right now? Do I know where his army is, how big it is, and what composition of units makes it up? No? Why the fuck not? I should be scouting!" Every time you SHOULD know what he's doing, but you don't scout, it's comparable to driving down the highway with your eyes closed. The only way you know if you fuck up is if you hit something (even if it's just the rumble strips). You MIGHT make it to work ok with roach/hydra, but it's silly to do it blind.
Step 4: Play 2 weeks where all you're focusing on is your Queen's energy (AND steps 1,2, and 3). Make sure you're injecting on time, and when you can't inject, you're popping tumors. Are you actively spreading creep? Send an overlord ahead of your active tumors and poop creep at the max range. When the tumor is available to spawn, it can spawn to it's MAX distance in seconds, instead of waiting 30 seconds for the creep to spread that far on it's own.
Step 5: More to come, I gotta get to work!

Step 5: More to come, I gotta get to work! very good post. I can add to the overseers don't changeling so much use the overseer's spell to stop unit production, vs terran starport/factory vs toss stargate robotics. This scout and delay at same time. Also deleying upgrades. As 1st point, I would put : Get good build orders for all the matchups and perfect them. As zerg I use (short map distance) 9 overlord>ext trick>14 gas>13 or 14 pool>15overlord>drone>queen>metabolic boost>2 lings. Scout with drone with the drone u do extractor trick or a bit later(a bit risky if enemy proxy or 6 pool. From this point on you need to learn what build order to do to counter oponent BO. But realy perfect this standard zerg early BO.

theorybiscuit and AcOrp, I will take your advice and use it in my games... Although I have exams coming up so each step may be a bit delayed =/
