Pardon me if this is a repeat post or if this is more common knowledge than I think it is. Might be because I'm a Zerg player.

In like patch 3 or 4 I filed a bug report that terrans could repair their protoss ally, and at least back then they really did repair. I'd be surprised if they fixed the repair part but not the animation part

I'd be surprised if they fixed the repair part but not the animation part lolz, the nice thing is ..... if you can't repair the protoss allies, and just the animation is there as a distraction, do you still lose resources for repairing the protoss unit ? or the animation is doing nothing at all but keep the SCV busy. i want to note that making the SCV animation the same while disabling the repair is not a good workaround

I've seen a lot of diversity between the races, you can even have your medivacs following zerg units and heal them like Medivac healing Mutalisks, or even Medivac/Ultralisks combos.

It's a bug. this not being true is not true You can repair toss "mechanical UNITS" (not building, cuz they're not mechanical), albeit in a slower rate

Note: this only restores the health, not the shields. This means a strong shield unit like Archon can't be supported efficiently by healing allies.

For everything else - SCVs. (Archons are neither bio, nor mech, so no help for their health, but they are mostly shields anyway)

Protoss units are expensive and strong so it would be smart to.

What's worse is if your SCVs repair the protoss units instead of the terran units during a smaller skirmish since the healing actually makes a difference in who comes out on top. It is nice to repair things like Collossus though, I find myself repairing an allie's collosus quite often.

Also, on a similar note, i think if you grant your partner control they can chronoboost some of your stuff. I only heard that from someone though, it could be wrong. But yeah, each race seems to have mechanics that work on the others

Shields regen quickly enough we don't need a "repair" function for shields lol. Also I don't believe archons are mechanical.

We tried mass scv-stalker+immortal oriented pushes with me going hidden banshee and stuff like that. Didn't work well. The best usage so far is just randomly repair stuff like immortals etc.

And having like 10 scvs repairing a mothership is hilarious.
