Ok So I have played about 10 customs with my zerg friend on this map as protoss, and, It NEEDS 2 xel naga in the middle, and The 3 openings into the natural should be lowered to 2, there is no need for that 3rd ramp. Static defense = macro, macro= long games, long games = more interesting e-sports.

The one thing I love about the GSL maps is that they always have great scenery. With a GSL map, you don't just get a generic space station or volcanic theme, you get beaches. With the new graphics of starcraft2, that map themes become that much more amazing. That being said, this map reminds me of Jungle Basin, just with three bases at each base instead of two. The middle bases seem excedingly hard to take and hold which would make macro games difficult. The circular center will make for some very interesting tactical decisions. Overall, my opinion of the map is that it will be a fun map for any matchup and could create unique situations that wouldn't be seen on other maps due to the circular center.

I honestly just paid $5 to watch people play on this map. I was considering not watching because of the whole issue with IM -- I like watching Zergs play, and the only good Zerg left is July -- but this map is a beauty and I want to see how it plays; a $5 investment isn't too much and I should see some good games I suppose.

On another note, this map would crash my computer with all that water.

So there are three entrances into the natural right? I personally think this map would benefit from rocks between the 2nd and the 3rd, but eh, what do I know?

Why is it that all the maps are perfectly mirrored?

Doesn't it break a bit of the immersion that every stone and tree is exactly the same on the other side of the map... At least the scenery should be possible to vary without changing the balance.

i think symmetry isn't really a problem because it isn't hardly noticable on the other side of the map.
only along the mirror axis you need to alter the visuals to hide it.

If you have the memory of a goldfish, then it might not be a problem. I, however, do notice this when seeing different parts of the map.

played a game on this with my protoss buddy and I have to say I absolutely love it, however he hated it! He complained about a lack of ramp, too many entrances into his base blah blah but I have to say, from a real person's perspective, a great map and I hope this makes its way onto the ladder rotation because its so damn beautiful!

Lol, Protoss aren't real people

Haha just kidding. I think he has a point that the natural is very hard to defend, coming from a protoss and terran perspective. However, I don't think its a bad thing to experiment.

Protoss can abuse space at Natural with 2 pylons and cannon rush+ block entrance of main(=bunker rush contain)

this seems pretty nasty on this map o.o
