I'm trying to make a map that me and my friends can play in co-op, I have a few problems which I will list below.
1. Where do I save the map to, if I want to play it using create custom game?
2. If I have created a map with default settings will it matter? or will I have to create a new map and use the custom type?
3. I have made a new unit, but now wish to add all the unit dependencies from the campaign, however when I do this, my new unit dissappears, its still in data, but I can no longer add it to the map.
4. Are some of the units bugged? when I place some of the Hero units on the map they appear as white spheres.

1. You need to "publish" it to Battle.net. Be careful as this basically makes it available for everyone to play. 2. I assume you are talking about "melee map" vs "non-melee map"; it doesn't matter, the map's type will automatically change when you edit something that makes a difference. 3. I've had that disappearing unit problem as well; I can only assume it's a bug... The units still showed up in game but not in the editor any more (and thus you couldn't even move or remove them in the editor!). 4. Haven't tried the hero units yet nor have I seen white spheres.

After much fiddling around I think i've figured out how to do it, you create a new custom type map with dependencies set to Liberty & Liberty (Campaign)(removing Liberty (Multi).
This gives you all the campaign units etc. you can then make it multiplayer by going to Map > Player Properties then changing the other players to User Control.
The units bug out of you have Liberty Multi & Liberty Campaign units at the same time.
