I don't like the Guardian model in hots at all. It looks fat and cartoon. The ideal figure of Guardian should be like this:

my plan is to modify the model when i can (right now i can't. not properly/easily anyway).

i dont think it needs to be changed much, it simply needs it's crab hands removed and replaced with the curved spine thing.

i like the devourer model, its wings look more like a beetles than anything else, i also like the queen model as its representative of the portrait.

I was just commenting on the devourer model. I never meant to generalize all sc2 assets and brood war at all, and I can't see how anyone would interpret it like you would. By randomly asserting that notion out of nowhere, I'm just going to assume you strongly dislike sc2 as a whole.

opinions vary, like said. some people's opinion depend on previous versions, some not. It's quite logical and not really worth pointing out, since I think its obvious that many people have different opinions... so umm...yea. not sure if troll or... just trying to get at something... hmm. I'm really starting to think you might think that I don't realize some people just plainly dislike the model. Yeah, I get that. Some people just like it plainly too. Those are two options that are a given, and I don't really know what more to say about that...

Also, back to the devourer model. I think if you're squinting or looking at the model from far away, it still look like scary heads. So if devourer art was liked because of that or its 'monster' look, then I think the hotS model adds to that too.

bump for previous post, not sure how much work new maps would be, just curious.

(also, I do realize there's a pretty good amount of maps out atm...but these are the same ones most people already played to death in BW, so that's pretty much the only reason they already seem worn out. great job on everything ^.^)

For what its worth, I dont think the crab claws are that bad. Their consistent with what I feel is the flavor of the unit.

Also although the devourer looked like a floating head in the pixel sprite form its concept art shows it is more of a beefy mutalisk.

You're comparing an animated sprite with a static pose, that might be a frame from the attack animation in the picture or something, in fact, it almost certainly is.

? Im not following what you said. My point is that the devourer is not a flying head even if it looks like it in the scbw sprite.

Are these new models in SC2BW?

I played for a bit, but the models were still Corruptor and Brood Lord. May have been an old version though.

i've only updated NA right now. if all goes well with the tournament and no major bugs i'll update the rest of the servers.

Why not go for just the single blade DT instead of randomly doublescythe or single blade. Easy to change that.

i wanna try change DT eventually, i always saw the DT weapon in BW as more like a psi blade that acted like a whip. it sort of bent and curve from movement. i'd like to recreate that effect.

It defiantly looks like a zealots psi blade. The whipping looks just like a movement effect similar to a light saber if you know what I mean.

He keeps the psi blade at his side pointing down. When he attacks he winds up the swing to the side, possibly upwards as well and then swings.

What is actually amusing which I just noticed, the DT actually switches between left hand psi blade, and right hand psi blade. It depends on if the DT is facing left or right, it'll switch.



I think my fondest asthetics from Brood War is the way hydras move and attack (second to zealot punching animation). They kinda glide along in SC2 animation. They shamble forwards, which just looks awesome. SC2 hydra looks like it is on ice. Not to mention the acid ejection attack graphic is awesome.

BTW been searching. since been away for some time. where to find the BW mod for SC2. latest version. if possible. pm. prefer... as i work i wont be online. ¿¿¿ awsome work u guys.
