In my opinion the risk of getting it wrong is too high. I think most of the models that are in now are really good, just take the carrier for example whích looks amazing or the reaver. There are a few models left that looked very different in broodwar for example the gateway and the hatchery but i dont even think its necessary to change those. One model though that i think could use some minor changes is the dragoon. I dont know how to describe it but i think it needs bigger thighs (is this the right word? sry im german ![]() Fantastic mod, keep it up ![]() | ||

![]() Okay, I'll try to clarify. As an updated version of the colony to fit the SC2 style of buildings I think it's well done, but it doesn't look enough like the original colony. My main qualm is the texturing honestly. I prefer the pink fleshy color to the darker beige color. Also the top of the structure where it goes from that beige to purple--that wasn't in the original. I just feel he's being a little to liberal with the look. I'm not trying to bash gna's modeling skills, because they certainly are superb, I'm just providing critical input for the better of the project. | ||

And I agree with willywonka, the creep colony is nice, but not as nice as the other amazing models :-) | ||

So when you take that into account,it is the first screen that really matters.SC2 zerg employ a different color pallet(less saturated and less contrast,to my displeasure unfortunately) and art design. You just cant have the same building,as it would stand out awkwardly.All we need now,is to see how GNA handles the green goo,or the creep(depending on what hes going for),as well as player coloring. Oh,oh,heres a compromise,how about GNA remodel and retexture all Zerg buildings. ;P | ||

1. Orange in BW is pale purple in SC2.Somewhat like intestines. 2. Cover the damn thing with carapace for animation stuff. Now, I realize, "screw peel-off animations!" ![]() I will return to texturing the Creep colony later after this set. You guys should draw me some concept work. Now, giving me bw art is pointless since one must at least try to make units/structures fit with sc2 ones. And, my god, man! Me? Redo every single thing? What am I chopped liver? Srsly, though, man's got a point. Anyway, here's the goo atm, and stand animation. It's pretty much a test run, and particles/layering might give it some more character. Not sure about the green though. Overlord creep is purple, but hey, I always thought the green goo feeds the creep and so make it spread. + Show Spoiler + | ||

im trying to get protoss warp in effect working so i can fix the warp in animation for the observatory while also making upgrade/powered animations for it aswell. but gah. frustrating. | ||
