Post anything and everything you want to discuss about the ladder stage!!
I noticed last night the top 2 players were some undefeated guys from Norway, but they fell down and accumulated some losses. As we approach the 24 hour mark, idra and xiaozi and stalife, who all stayed up all night to play, have pulled away in the top 3.
Someone should save the page or take screenshots of the page every 24 hours so we can have a record of the progression at the end of the three weeks.
So far I'm undefeated and in D+ but I'm planning to hit C+ before I go to sleep tonight. Haven't had any really interesting games yet...
anyway gogo give stories and reps, cheer on your fav gosus, talk trash on your sworn enemies, etc etc

I'm saving the whole pages for my own amusement, I'll find a way to make a cool gallery or something as it goes on.

just wondering what everyone thinks it will take to get into top 48? Last night me and a few others were talking about it and we think it will take a minimum rank of 9500 ( mid A- ) now that I see the chinese are coming too it may take 10000+ just to get into the top 48 imo.

I don't think it will be that high, but it's very hard to say I guess. I'd say B+ should be good enough for last few spots though.

GO NONY, play chill and save replay please. =D!

Really? I think #48 will be A.

nah, with this competition haha.. A will be minimum high A- will the very lowest.
If it was B+ i would be VERRYYY suprized.

It depends how many of these gosu Koreans continue to play until the end. There aren't 50 foreigners who can win >50% of their games at B+ right now. But if foreigners flood B-/B/B+ and there are hardly any Koreans to slow the progress, then I could see 50 foreigners getting A- in 3 weeks.
|
South Africa4316 Posts
That's my point Nony, there's seriously not 50 foreigners who can win more than 50% of their games at that level, which is why I suggested B+. ON the other hand, as you say, if we get tons of players playing really hard, we could suddenly have lots of foreigners on a higher level than expected, which might mean more A- players.
We'll have to see.

I'm going to manually save all the pages every 24 hours so we can do something like this, or even go as far to make some compiled stats on progress
|
I was thinking of staying in the top48 the whole while, but maybe I'm being a bit too optimistic. A ranks seem almost unreachable this early on in season for me.
|
Oh my god, so many people have already played 20+ games. I really wish this event happened in June or July, because it's just not possible to compete with people who can throw 5 hours a day into the ladder in the middle of a semester.
The competition looks really fierce, though. It's gonna get a lot tougher, too, since yaoyuan made a post about it. I'd expect all the top Chinese players (and there are quite a few) to take over the top ranks within a few days.
|
Draco will win the entire thing

Ive noticed something strange but funny. I guess all the TSL players have made an impression on the non TSL players. Because now whenever I join a d v d game, they ban me. I guess they think I'm more skilled than they? How wrong they are!

Just some observations on my side: Last night (or roughly 12 hours ago), there were 650+ signed up, and you only had to have played a dozen games (and win almost all of them) to break #48. As of now, there are 930+ signed up and you need about 18 +/- 1 or 2 games to break #48. So its early and still anyones game.
But this has only been one day. The top will probably be defined relatively early on, while the round 1 spots will be the fiercely contested.
|
So when I kicked off laddering for TSL I was thinking "fuck yeah, now I can show my stuff to everyone" and I was having a pretty good time. I played some good people; I played Machine, IdrA, sky (I've been told this is WhistleR), TT1, Worked, and other players also on TSL tags, some good games, some bad games.
I've seen a fuckton of cheese (even from the "top" players I played) however ~~; Like, from all the past seasons and ladders played, I have never seen so much all-in cheese everywhere, it's increadible.
Anyway, how can I complain ;] Money is involved, and alot of it, so it's fair for people to play at any way they please ^^
Oh, and alot of people seem to dodge good record people, which I think is pretty stupid =/
EDIT - And nony just stomped me ; ]
|
Well, by cheesing you can greatly reduce the time played because such games tend to end fairly quick. I try not to cheese too much but... there is no other choice on Blue Storm. Cheese is just too tempting.
I haven't encountered anyone dodging but that might be because my stats are so bad. However, people dodging will most likely be hurt by it in the end. You don't get very far with such an insecure attitude . I see this as an opportunity to play the best foreign players, and I've already had my share (TT1, Goody, Mondragon, Yayba etc). It's been very fun so far.

Yeah no kidding. Out of ten tvps I played today on blue storm, nine of them involved some kind of proxy gate either inside or outside my main, followed up with cannon rush or something like that. I fucking hate blue storm early game.

yeah it's really really lame, i try to submit complaints when shit like that happens (i always get points for it promptly) but people who don't care enough let the dipshits that do that get away with it
does anyone else think it's funny that some people think we're this huge, ridiculously active clan full of really skilled players
|
I've noticed an unfortunate consequence to my "do nothing but cheese" style of play: sometimes the person you cheese manages to spot it and stop it but is too inept to finish you off. Then you spend 30 minutes clawing your way back to victory, which defeats the point of cheesing in the first place.
It's a cruel, cruel world in which we live.

I've put down a little script to monitor the evolution of the standings.
http://catyoul.org/tsl/ranking.py
You won't see much right now because : - it will need 24 hours to compare the rankings from one day to another (currently everyone is in "new entries" since this is the first available ranking) (it will still be updated every 6 hours though) - the TSL iccup page is frozen for now, so no new stats are available anyway
unk there is some tech problem with server and webpage synchronisation. But i ensure you that noone's match list//stats will be lost.
I'll add the ability to sort differently and to compare over a different timespan than a day as well when I have some time and if there is enough interest in this.
I hope nobody minds the shameless steal of the banner for aesthetic purposes :p
edit: iCCup updates fine again, it's working

Nony mentioned this in the OP. Do you think that anyone could speak to the top x players to put up a small replay pack (if they're willing to do that of course). It doesn't even need to be of interesting games, just give us something to watch now while you're still allowed to share replays.
Or is it just me who wants a bunch of reps?

Right now the threshold for top 48 is C rank.
What do you guys predict that the minimum rank required to qualify for the top 48 at the end of the ladder (20 more days, right?) will be?
I'd venture a guess and say B at least will be needed to be in the top 48. Even though right now ICCUP is insanely hard because of Koreans, a lot of people playing TSL will either avoid really good korean players, or play a lot of other TSL people, so I think people's TSL rank will be inflated.

But i ensure you that noone's match list//stats will be lost. I'll add the ability to sort differently and to compare over a different timespan than a day as well when I have some time and if there is enough interest in this. yeah this is an awesome script

The more people play, the more higher ranked players there will be. If they play on forever then won't everyone become A at some point?
I don't like the iccup system in general but maybe they should make more ranks. Add E and F?
So maybe even B+ for top 48? I mean, surely those people wouldn't be able to be B+ right now. But as more and more people play and there is more inflation, maybe B+.
|
well the point is that this season is MUCH more difficult. If you look at the very top ladder ranks, there are probably less than 10 non koreans in the top 100 (last I checked), whereas last season at this same time there were probably 20-30 non koreans. So overall, people are being much lower ranked this season than last.
but since from what I'm seeing is that a lot of TSL players are avoiding playing really good koreans, and playing more non-koreans, people in TSL will have slightly inflated ranks as a result of it. 20 days of laddering probably won't give rise to A ranked players, but there will probably be a plethora in the B to A- range, so I'm assuming that setting a goal of getting B rank will probably be sufficient to get one in the top 48.
|
Im pretty sure there will be not a single B gamer in the top 48. All A- and higher..
|
hmm... there is a TSL channel on iccup?
|
its just like TSL-1 , TSL-2 (I THINK)
|
wait wait wait im kinda confused now. what do you mean korean gamers? i thought korean and chinese gamers were prohibited from playing tsl.. wtff
all this time i thought only people could play against each other that were registered for tsl but they can play anyone from iccup to get their rankings?
|
On April 03 2008 04:41 BlueRoyaL wrote: all this time i thought only people could play against each other that were registered for tsl but they can play anyone from iccup to get their rankings?
You can play anyone on the ladder, not just TSL guys.
|
pretty funny : Mondi plays almost only TSL users. Because for him its win win situation. HE gains tsl players lose..
T_T confidence..
|
that's kinda the point I'm trying to make. if people were playing koreans and such, they wouldnt be able to get higher ranks, but since a lot of people are avoiding koreans, rankings will be inflated.
just like Mistrzzz getting A+ last season, but rarely played Koreans.
|
the sick thing is ..
There are almost no koreans playing anymore.. i cant find any..
this turns more and more into a TSL- Only server.. in the end it will be indeed only TSL vs TSL gamer.. so little koreans or am i going on at the wrong times ? but its a clear tendency isnt it ?

there are still lots of koreans that own me day and night!
a lot of the TSL players seem to avoid them on purpose.

Catyoul's script is so cool.
Cloud making a powerful entry in the top 48, rising 44 ranks in 6 hrs. Also TemujiN, ZpuX, Zazu and Notforu climbing about 20 spots. White-Ra plowing his way in too.
Is anyone saving this every 24 hours? Or is there a way to also have a daily report too? (like a different tab where it saves a shot of every day) Because it's just too cool to watch.
Anyway awesome script. Good job.
|
It would be cool to have a screenshot every 8-12 hours. I would see Nony jump up, but then while hes off or sleeping, others would overtake his spot, but he'll jump back up when he gets on again, etc. Its a see-saw, so screenshotting it 2-3 times would be quite dynamic.
|
Well you already have a 6 hours refresh rate, so you can just check it now and then. But after 3 weeks you won't want to go through ~60 screenshots just to see minor jumps. I believe daily shots would do great though, a 21-step program on getting into the TSL.
|
Omg I went 1-5 in my first batch of games. I'm so bad at this game, it's not faaaair

Before checking the thread, I added a new functionality in the script, you can now decide over which period you want it, not just for the last 6 hours. I believe you'll like it CubEdIn
I am saving all the rankings too, so previous data will not be lost, if you want to look at it later on.
edit : It also only displays the top 100 changes for the category you selected by default to serve lighter pages. You can still see more if you select the option.

Where's Advokate and Androide or Ex? I hope they're all playing

Just got off an intense PvT game. Anyway, Im done for the night. I think Im getting it again, although my macro could still use work.
I used to Random back in the day, but I find that I dont want to play Zerg much anymore.
edit: Also, what does it mean when theres no change in points? Its empty, and in details for the game, the races are X'd and the scores are all 0. Also, my anti-hack score is 22-0-1.
|
How do you find games for this? I was in the tsl ladder channel but there were like 8 people there and they were all afk so I just went back onto my non tsl account and played some random games.
|
You dont have to play other TSL players. I see many other TSL'ers hanging out in Ladder D, where many players are asking for games. And if you just make a game, someone will definitely join.

someone should make a smurf detection thread ~
Who is: Boxerz and Slughworth ? C+ USA people (obviously smurfs)
|
Both are approved smurfs.
If you feel that not smurfing gives you an unfair disadvantage, you must appeal to Mani. We will then give you a predetermined smurf name.
|
I'm not asking you to divulge the smurfs' identities, but I was just wondering. What possible reason would people knowing your name work as a disadvantage? And for how long will the names be hidden? 48? 16? What if a smurf wins?

See the previous poll winner for a reason someone might want to smurf.
Real IDs will be divulged after the ladder (for the top 48 at least, I think we can let the rest hide in shame).
|
Mondragon said he nine pools to avoid 4 pools. If you guys picked a T/P instead of Mondragon then they'd have to worry about 4 pools.
Is Testie back into TSL? Anyone know? He probably wants to play again before he goes on TL.net attack. Doesn't want to get ownt by noobies.
|
i dont understand how someone will have a disadvantage by not smurfing !? If anyone has it should be famous people like testie/mondi/draco/idra because people know there style or dodge them.. but dunno..
its looking kinda wrong to see unknown names in this ladder.. and.. on the other hand.. so many known gamers with their real accs..
|
Yeah that's what I was saying too. Any reason invoked by any player could probably be generalized, and REAL top tier players are not hiding their accounts. So then the reasons are not that good in the first place.
And as you can see, the previous poll is just fun, since Mondragon stated himself that he didn't get 4pooled ONCE. So I really don't think that's a threat.
But anyway, if it will be revealed after ladder stage then I guess it's ok. Since there are bound to be some lesser-known good players in there anyway. Who cares about one-two smurfs more.
|
XiaOzI could probably up higher if he werent playing so many games against koreans. Mondi has a good strat going by sticking to foreigners.
|
If players like Idra, Mondragon, and Draco are NOT smurfing, then what reason would anyone else have ?
also, there's nothing in the rules that permits us from finding out who smurfs are and posting it on the forums are there?
so someone should make a who's who smurfing on TSL thread

Nah I think xiaozi is doing better than everyone else. He's in the top 16, and he manages to stay there while practicing with koreans too. This way, if he starts slipping down the ranks later on he can just filter his opponents and get better results. It's not just about being in the top 16/48, it's also about getting a good spot in the final tourney for them. So if he's got no worries (yet) about finishing top 16/48, then why not train with better opponents?
|
well skew is definitely boxerz (rep was posted) and i'd be froz or nyoken is slugworth
|
Thanks iCCup.Raelcun. I'd Testie shit too if I were Mondragon. But I'm not, so I don't. I bet it's funny, too.
CubEdln brings up a good point. If Xiaozi is practicing against Koreans and doing well, it's not like he's really endangering his spot in the top 16. I'm sure he can optimize his spot later on depending how he wants to end up in the group stages.

Secondly, if he bug-drop abused, I think the banning from TSL is warranted (anyone that does this should be banned), but it would be nice, almost necessary, to legitimize the TSL staff's decision to ban him through providing proof to the community. Otherwise, it looks like there is some sort of vendetta against him and looks unprofessional in an otherwise extremely well put-together league. I know I have disconnected in the past and had no control over it, and in the end I wasn't even sure if I was the one that disconnected or if it was my opponent. How is the TSL staff sure that the drop was done on purpose or that it was even MistrZZZ that disconnected?

I've noticed a few people saying (over all of the forums) that the staff have a vendetta against him.
Can someone please explain to me, firstly, who he is? secondly (and most importantly) why anyone on the staff would care about who he is?
Is there something i dont know about?
This isnt a put down on mrZ or whoever. And can be applied in general. TL is hosting a tourney for the community, why would we then hold a vendetta vs player XYZ and prohibit them from participating, doesn't that defeat the point about holding it for the community ?
I'm going on a limb here and guessing that lots of people dont like him, which split the support for him and so anything bad which happens against him must be a high level conspiracy? -
But if thats the case, people are forgetting one main point. TL staff are gods, and as such are above such petty worldly concerns!

He's been found hacking multiples times. I don't like him nor hate him but what amazes me is not his records in the past nor his hacking skills but more the vods. You can tell by judging the vods that even without hacks he'd be really really good. There's must some ppl who are jealous or something to say that they don't like him but well... Who care ?
|
Stop with all this hackerchat already. Hacking doesn't deserve it. Either somebody gets caught and banned or not. End of discussion.
Let's get back to topic (the one NonY intended) : He just took #1 from Idra btw! Though Idra might make lots of points in the tournament today.
How do you think the top ranks will develop? Will they actually start pushing into the Korean owned top200 of iccup? Who's gonna be the first A-? And who will be responsible for Mondragon's third loss?
Btw start posting replays plz!

I second that, please start posting replays ( long shot considering they want to save up their strats and what they would do against the competition..).

If you only play MOTW (map of the week) you get reworded with more points after a victory and you lose less after a defeat.

well, you should lose the same amount whether or not youre playing MOTW, but youll gain 30% more points for winning on a MOTW. thats why youll see so many people playing blue storm

i had a question that i felt needed some clarification. when all past hackers were banned, why was haypro allowed to continue to play? was it because he did not intend to hack maliciously? i know that there was a lot of strange circumstances in his case, so i was just wondering.

On April 04 2008 02:15 RaGe interviewed Mondragon: It seems like you have a clear goal. How hard will it be to reach it? Did you already have to surpass some difficulties? Mondi: No, everything going smoothly so far. I decided to concentrate on only playing against foreigners since in my opinion it is now kinda useless to try my luck against Koreans, who beat me badly and would only make me lose points in the end. So I think I'll stick to play foreigners only, since the aim is to get top 16 and not to get owned by Koreans.

So what? he openly admitted in his interview that he was gonna dodge Koreans, in a tournament where Koreans are not even allowed to play why would anyone risk losing a bunch of games when you don't have to? especially when there is so much money at stake.

Mondi the noob just lost another game; his stats are in decline 60-3

Testie finally started playing; he's 12-0 (all vs. the same guy )
|
|
draco played like 5 games straight vs a C rank polish player when he was D+ all known players get breaks on that kinda stuff because everyone knows they can qualify anyway.
|
I thought there was a rule that you could only play 5 games against one opponent. But maybe it only affects higher ranks, I don't know.
|
He kept asking for a rematch at the end of each game, what am I supposed to do? Say no?
He asked if we could play more tomorrow. I said sure, gladly, if I am not already playing or if I am online. If i'm not supposed to, I guess i'll tell him no. But otherwise it's not like anyone else at that rank isn't just a free win anyway, so what's the point?
It's completely different if it's against the rules. But if it isn't, who cares?
|
I am fairly sure that you are only allowed to play the same player five times consecutively to prevent abuse... :O
|
Braavos36372 Posts
yeah, it actually IS against the rules to play that many games in a day vs one opponent. it's scaled by rank, so you can play more vs someone if both of you are A or B, but at D i think it's quite limited--i'm not sure of the exact rule, maybe one of the iccup admins can clear it up for us.

Hey Testie, can we play a Bo3 before you climb too far up and I never get the chance to play you?

Seems like Mondragon's nemesis Chosen managed to take 3 games from him today.

Competition is still pretty fierce. 1600 pts separate #1 and #16, and 1000 pts from #16 to #48

#11 on pl TSL-Draco 7241 51 - 6

Yeah why are TSL admins reseting unknown peoples stats for playing the same guy x amount of times and not known people like Testie?
There are no rules regarding this issue in the Official rules thread here on TL.net so i don't really understand why you are applying a non-existant rule on some random players but ignore the famous ones for doing the same thing?
Really taking the term biased to a whole new level.

hes got no choice to play koreans now, or he could just be gay and stop playing .... A- makes him top 48 for sure, I dont know how you dodge koreans, what do you do ask them if their korean before playing them? doesnt that take to much time? i cant host games, so i have to take what i can get.... he plays the other TSL players who are recognized easily, at least most of them And of course all the foreigners at that level are known anyway, so everyone he doesn't know is probably korean.
And I wouldn't be so sure that his A- with 9008 points will be enough for the top16. There is still more than half of the time left and there are quite a few gamers who are capable of winning one game over B+. But i guess he will stop playing and wait till he has more foreign B+ enemys.

Pfft ZvZ losses don't even count what a worthless matchup I shouldn't random against low caliber zergs, just pick T or P and auto win.

lol =d
there are exactly 2 weeks until the end of the ladder (from today.. it ends on the 22nd right??). that should be quite a lot of time for many more people to get A-, but I think Mondi could probably just stop playing and qualify.

That's your point. Do the math, calculate the risks, manage to win every little game with reasonable and solid formulae, calculate more probabilities, then you're top48. Great. Can't imagine something more exciting than this.
Anyway, this is just my point. I really don't see any "magic" in this. And since we are talking about a *star* league, with all the hype, prizes, "determination", and all that ideological talking, it seems just like the attitude from the koreans losing games on purpose at WCG just to not face other koreans at elimination stage. Attitude strongly disaproved by the foreign community.

Attitude strongly disaproved by the foreign community. In a ladder with a choice of which opponents to play there will always be strategy in selecting your opponents. That is just the reality of any ladder where you can pick who you play.
However, there are only so many "weak" players to play before you find yourself among only strong ones. I'm not saying Mondragon's game list is only weak players, but the only reason he's able to be selective and play so few games is precisely because of his ridiculous winrate. While ICCup favors massgaming up until around the B+/A- range, he doesn't have to go to massgame because he wins so many. If he can qualify at 70-6 while someone else needs 130-70 (and play Koreans because of lack of foreigner games) then that's just a solid strategy and level difference.
The goal of the qualifier isn't to show what you can do against the top Korean players, it's to qualify for the TSL.
That said, there is something of a positive in playing many games on the ladder against all opponents to practice (look at XiaoZi's game list) to be in better shape for when the qualifiers come.

Mondragon is currently #30 on all of ICCup, and every game he plays with an equal ranked opponent, even with MOTW, is going to +/- same points win or lose. The 29 guys above him are littered with progamers, semipros, and practice partners, and several of the guys below him too.
It's way, way harder to climb once you are B+ or above, especially this season. I wouldn't project the same rates of growth we've seen in the first week or so out for the rest of the ladder. If you check people's match lists, many of the top 16 and most of the top 48 have a hard time maintaining 2:1 or even 1:1 winrates at B+. It'll slowdown considerably.
|
I see...
But even so, Aren't there at least 20 players besides him who'll get A- in 11 days? I doubt this position secures him a place in the top16. But you are right about top48, if you win/lose the same amount of points, climbing will be extremely difficult.
...but there's also the element of choosing opponents. As time goes on people will be clinging for a spot in the top48 and some may pick to play against lower-ranked opponents. And then there are the tournaments, and who knows what. I really think there will be way more people in the A/A- ranks than it looks like from this point. We'll see in about 6 days.
|
not to mention that clans that have some very good players can lift their best to a ridiculously high level. just have the B+ guys milk the points out of the system and have them play their top player to which they all lose consistently. A- should be absolutely no problem to get...
|

edit: i also think tarson will drop out of the top 16, and unless testie gets to work, he wont make it
|
On April 09 2008 03:40 ReadyRok wrote: hes got no choice to play koreans now, or he could just be gay and stop playing ....
Wtf would be gay about that? If he would hover around at #17-#48 doing the absolute minimum i'd agree but he's on #1 right now. This is the ladder stage, the bottom of this starleague, the only important thing here is to qualify. Even if he would play koreans, nothing would change, he would still qualify.
Some use the ladder stage for practice, others just to get a spot. As soon as we're in the qualifiers round it won't matter anyway.
|
Now that we're at the A/B level, it's going to be very interesting to see how each player's individual records bottom out with relation to the competition. Should be good.
|
The TSL ladder page takes like 5 mins to load, maybe admins could divide it into pages or something?

I don't have anything against Testie but it would seem pretty biased to condone 12 games in a row against the same person.
|
should efinitely be a reset !
|
Well if they reset me for it, they'd better do it now and not wait until the end of the season. I have no problem with being reset. But in my defense, I didn't know I broke the rules, those were iccups rules, not TSL's rules to my knowledge. And I'm not playing for the sake of iccup.
But if it's their decision, that's cool too and i'll just start over.

I hope your quote isn't a Janice quote ;p
It's my opinion that Testie shouldn't be reset, and I've said so in the appropriate fora. The other staff are largely of the same mind, as long as he doesn't do anything similar in the future.
Hm.. as for Mondragon dodging, I think that's by far a more sensible course of action than going off and challenging GGPlay, GoRush, SlayerS_'BoxeR', Jangbi, and whatever other Korean pros are running around ICCUP at the time.
|
It's not like Testie would have trouble at D/D+ rank anyway, it would just be a waste of time to reset him imo.
|

Resetting him for a thing like that is only gonna force him to rape his way to C rank again in a couple of hours. It has nothing to do with the fact that it's THE TESTIE it's just that he never purposely tried to cheat his way to a better rank. If some random newbie were to do this in order to gain rank he would get reset because he abused the system to gain a rank he should never have been able to reach in the first place.

Also, with lesser known players, its unfeasible to ask all of them to supply replays to assure the other player was not throwing the game. Although I think its awesome that Eri is playing, why do you write someone with a 8-0 record as "rising" ? and then someone with 28-8 as also rising ? It seems like you just picked 2 random names on the ladder and said "hey look at these guys!"
|

There's no need to be a stickler about semantics. I'm pretty sure what he meant was "Look at the two old school players who are coming back and playing TSL". Eriador and Asmodey are hardly considered random names.
Asmoooo... I wonder if oTTeR is playing too. :>

There's also another asmodey that is pretty active lately which is not the old famous player. I guess it's that one By the way gratz chosen he deserves it ^^
|
Well seeing as how those 11 games have absolutely no reflection on his ability to get into the top 48, it really doesnt matter that much. As he said he's not playing for iccup, against it;whatever. It's rather over the rules but warnings are as reasonable as not knowing the rules and doing something that doesn't really harm anyone in any way. He won't be reset but perhaps next time the punishment will be a bit extreme.

Well pvz on troy is all about going cors reav into carriers. It's so easy to do on that map that zerg can't just counter it decently.

for such an event with people practicing the maps announced its quite unfair to remove a map from the pool. Its the risk you take when picking a relatively untested map.

Out of curiosity, is there a map stats page with how all the matchups are shaping up in the TSL?

Troy was not the MotW for week one. Thus it's only been ~5 days where it could be "exclusively" practiced. I do not see ~5-6 days of laddering as a significant handicap since everyone had the same information, and especially given that the first day of qualifiers is still over 14 days away. You have even longer to practice--over 21 days--if you are top 16.
Formal announcement on maps coming later today.

30-19 C!!! 4104 or so... Yeah, I noticed that C- level was easier than D+ level was for me lol! Cuz all of the B or A level TSL people are up at the top not D level anymore. Dunno... if I can get C+ this season or B-!
Cool new map of the weeks, Python Zodiac Troy
oh yeah... and 'faoi' -_-

gogogo Smuft + Leg + Nazgul !
|
Peaked at like 4450 and now back down to like 4299 so that wraps up this week cuz I can't play on weekdays Hope I can get in top 150 by the 21st
|
Mondi is 44-1 ZvP. That is pretty amazing.
|
1100 pt difference between #1 and #16 1600 pt difference between #16 and #48 1000 pt difference between #48 and #100
this shows that the difference between qualifying and missing out are only a dozen or so games, or a good days work.
|
its going to be a massacre at the very end of the time :D

The great thing about this is that there'll be (ideally/hopefully) multiple Starleagues It's not a one-time event!

Question: What happens when the deadline passes and there are outstanding complaints outstanding? For example I made a complaint 4 days ago and haven't received a reply yet.
|
admins are really slacking when it comes to plaints...... they should have cat admins helping out the ladder admins cuz sometimes u have to wait 1 week for a plaint.... there is no excuse for that

Man imho Whitet-Ra is sorta underatted. People know that he's good, but he's so "XellOs-like" underfanned among tl.netters. When he IS the best non-kor protoss. White-Ra fighting !~

|
when they are supporting something with $10,000 prize money, you expect them to do a good job.
|
thats the point.... this is for money, 1 week for 1 comlaint is insane cuz then you need to wait anyother week for the other plaint lol
|
They don't get the money calm down. Your one unanswered complaint won't keep you out of the top 1500.
|
im not thinking of it from just my point of view, think the end of the season is going to be very close and things like this could affect who does and does not qualify. I also find it hard to believe that TSL admins arent reading this to provide an answer.
|
IM SUCKING SO BAD AT TSL ITS SAD,but I would disagree with JoMaL I would say JF is the best foreign protoss now considering all his good results he always puts up

When Mondragon wins you can use that as an excuse.

Don't speak of things you know nothing about.

what, you think theyre not doing anything? of course theyre gonna address this, at least for the top 100 who have a chance of qualifying. i dont know how many complaints there are on a daily basis, but remember that there are only few iccup admins for the thousands of players, and fewer (if not only one) admin for TSL. theyre already securing personal info from the potential qualifiers, and theyll probably see to the few where a few extra points might boost their ratings.
|
top 30-48 sure is a hot spot! advocat, artosis, smuft, reason, cloud, incontrol, idra are in. Legionaire, nazgul, testie, zelotITO, day9, g5 are really close. And whos this individual: TSL-HOLL 46-5. (88 as of now)
|
|
what i like about TSL is that im becoming more familiar with a lot of these foreign players. i mightve seen them if i were quickly browsing through results and standings, but i wouldnt pay any mind. but now that theyre constantly near the top of the ladder and im seeing their reps in the top 10, it just generates more interest

woa hshit white ra droppde to from 1 to 38 -_- got owned by koreans

hes 200 points away from not qualifying... and all he had to do is stop playing after he got 1st...

second to last one 1600 pt difference between #1 and #16 1000 pt difference between #16 and #48 1400 pt difference between #48 and #100
so while the spread is still fairly consistent, the difference between qualifying for round 2 is only a thousand points atm. for whitera, this means just over half a dozen good wins. and with his practicing on korean beasts, we could see him securing a top 16 spot. itll be hard to predict who will reside in ranks 17-48, so the competition is so close.

Testie started playing again. I love you Testie <3
|
Man i wish i didnt get sick all last week. Between being pretty inactive lately and only having 6 days to get to what looks to be B+ for top 48.. yikes: [ so hard
and does anyone else get people who are dodging you because you have a TSL id? Today has been smooth but yesterday i had no less than 5 people say "no game" and it sucked cuz no one was on, i was prob averaging 20 minutes between games:[
|
seriously TSL ladder is becoming ridicolous I've never seen such a dodge festival in my whole life =[ takes hours to find a game.
|
wasnt that obvious.. in order to succeed in this ladder u had to 1) Start early 2) be active all the time 3) be skilled at the end of the season
if u didnt do one of the 3 steps it was obvious it would be very very hard
|
Testie <3 If you make it to the 48 i would be super happy

there have been some notable wins over progamers in tsl ladder
I'm talking about iefnaij>boxer, Dreiven > GoRush, G5 > GoRush with scouts and FT.aCt)Love > GoRush, FT.aCt)Love > OverSky twice, Chosen > OverSky
and probably a bit more
so nice that they can beat them, even on lan latency
|
I'm surprised to see that Draco plays more ZvP than PvP, did he do so before his break?

Okay we now have 20 A- in top 48, the rest of them being only B+. I can't believe how crucial the final hours will be. It will most likely be a photo-finish for the last 8 or so people, as well as for the ones going for top 16. In fact, the only one that can rest assured right now is Mondragon. He's got a huge margin of almost 600 points between him and #2, and with a large number of games played from now on it's not very likely he'll drop out of top16.
|
Anyone knows why Lamer resetted and stopped playing, he was going very strong.

900 pt difference between #1 and #16 900 pt difference between #16 and #48 2100 pt difference between #48 and #100
So while the score for rank 1 hasnt changed in a week, the difference between 1 and 100 slowly grew larger, while the competitors clamored to get into the top 48 (as evident in the 900 pt differences between qualifying for either round)
