When a game gives me hundreds or thousands of entertaining hours over many years I don't see why I wouldn't spend more than 50 bucks on it. I have spend less money on Starcraft than I have spend on basically all f2p games that I played thus far. When I enjoy something for a long period of time I will spend an appropriate amount of money on it - if I have the option to do so. In order to not impede this on other players of professional gameplay you can just make them not show up when using the team-color option (green-red-yellow). This way you can play with the standard skins and watch replays or observe with the custom skins in place. Those individual player/team colors work the same way, why not skins and stuff aswell? Professional players could show their fans their individual skins without it having any consequences on their play. Everything that sets players apart from each other or somehow show their personality would be very beneficial imho. There're so many ways to do this and make stupid amounts of money from it while also making the game more accessible to players who don't like to spend a lot of money upfront on a game that they're not sure of whether they like it or not. Integrate a proper streaming service into the game client to watch tournaments together while being able to chat in your custom lobby/chat. So many awesome things one could do with the game, makes me wonder why they haven't done that yet. Dota and CS:GO are such great examples of this done well, sad to see Blizzard sleeping in this regard.

I already bought the game 3 times (1 Vanilla WoL, 1 WoL CE, 1 HotS CE) so where is the point of Starcraft as a free to play thing? Money has been already put into it. I say no, to payment for skins, but i would do it anyways probably... I dont know.
