I would unlikly buy one. In fact, unless there was an option to see ALL units as default (mine and my opponent) I would stop playing. Because just the winged zerglings skin is giving me a hard time counting how many units there is.

I personally wouldn't buy skins (cuz no money and not worth), but I think people who buy skins (who are evidently plentiful, see LoL) would.

With people saying that MOBAs and Counter Strike all have one character for each player, I think it could work better for StarCraft for the skins to be for the town hall building of each race - small addons or alterations on the building that will be seen EVERY game and at the start of every match.
This also transfers to the competitive scene during player introductions. Spectators could get used to seeing a certain CC for their favourite Terran etc.

I feel like posting a poll on team liquid, a site devoted to die hard sc fans at heart, is not the best place to poll people on this issue. I think your polling the wrong people, i think had you posted this poll in bnet forums when the game was fresh before it took a turn for the worst would have been a great place to post a poll. The whole skin idea was to help keep casual fans who probably don't visit teamliquid at this time because they no longer follow sc2.

Basicly my point is that polling people on this site isn't the greatest place to poll. I love team liquid, and me personally i don't think i would pay for skins, its not an issue of money for me its that i don't really care about um, but I have been playing starcraft since sc original came out in 1998. What made me quit playing starcraft was because once hots came out it made the game alot less fun for me(however sc2 in general made the game less fun compared to broodwar but hots killed it and now i have returned to see what happens with lotv.

Any ways what i'm saying is the people who would pay for skins are not going to be voting in this poll that's the point i'm trying to make. The people voting in this poll are not the people who came to check out sc2 played it for a while then got tired of it and left. Your polling the rements of whats left of the die hard sc community that doesn't care about skins.( These people don't need skins to keep the game fresh for them)

I don't really understand comments people send here. What does being a hardcore fan on Team Liquid site has to do with not buying skins for game? I personally think it would revive game a bit, especially if they would make at least multiplayer for free. They really have many options, from unit skins, to buildings skins, voice packs, some favorite team logos etc... Also it would make developers more dedicated to game, and we would have often patching because those people are getting some profit from their work... I would put Dota 2 for example, game where you're not forced to pay for anything, yet those skins and stuff pretty much attract you, that you have to own one! :D

I don't understand why people think skins will solve anything. Casuals don't play Starcraft because it's too difficult, skins will have no effect for them. Hardcore gamers don't play SC2 because it has design flaws which make the game less fun, again skins do nothing. Those things need to be fixed if SC2 is going to survive.

ofc 1 of those 700 mentioned things by the community wont change starcrafts problems. but guess what. every single one will make it a little more enjoyable to play.

Few people spend money on free-to-play games. And very few people spend a lot of money in free-to-play games. But those few people are worth it. At least thats what a last heard about this topic from people who know the numbers of those games.

To makes this work though you need to attract a big player-base. The more people play your game, the more liklely you are to catch a whale. So if SC2 should ever go free to play they need a lot of attractions for players that dont want to pay too. Cant hide everything behind a paywall. People have to be able to earn/ grind them.

I don't actually see skins being that practical for the game. For one, it'd be a major distraction for competitive play, so I'm guessing it'd remain off for pros.

Though, it would be sort of cool if you could turn off skinned units (so you just see the original), but still have the skin setting on. That way, the observers could see the neat skins that players use, and then fans might think "Oh wow, Flash uses such and such skin?! I must get it now!!"

Of course, it's all sort of silly when you have multiple units. Maybe if they cost $1.00 or something inexpensive. I wouldn't mind buying one or two, if they didn't look like shit.

I would really love to have additional bAdass Skins like the Ultralisk's ! But paying additional fees after paying for the game itself is kinda redundant don't you think? I love Sc2 and adding these fabulous features would make the players feel more sense of belongingness and appreciate the units, thus love the game even more. Let's try to achieve that first ! ^__^
