TL Attack is back this week with guest FXO.Sheth, aka the nicest human being ever. This is a black tie event, only good manner players please! Last week we had Liquid`TLO on, and he played some pretty fun games, especially on the "SC2BW" custom map. We're definitely going to play on that map again so Sheth can show off his BW skills back when he was "Chosen."
TL Attack will be hosted this weekend by Chill and potentially one other player / personality TBA. They will do everything in their power to make Sheth give up his deepest darkest secrets and potentially even throw some BM insults out. If you want a chance to play against him, just log on to Bnet NA server and we'll be giving instructions on which channel to go to.
If you don't get in, don't worry, we'll be streaming every minute!
TeamLiquid Attack is a fun, casual event where a popular professional StarCraft 2 player plays custom 1v1s against community members. Typically, the player attempts creative or non-serious strategies while sharing friendly banter with the hosts. The show is a great way to get to know the personality of the popular player that might not normally be seen in serious ladder games or in tournaments.
If you're interested in sponsoring TL Attack! or other TeamLiquid events, click here for more information.
I demand burrowed ultra traps, Spine and spore crawlers with queens and lots of creep in enemy bases, multi nydus abuse with hydras, and baneling bombs of course never get old. The biggest possible muta ball would be nice too.
I agree EU would be nice but since the player is on NA I guess it makes sense to do it on NA. Would love to play with/against Sheth as he's my role model but guess that'll be another time. :}

you know TLO is from germany... and he did TWO TL attacks on NA server so your point is invalid.

The one with TLO should've been EU I guess...
I'm kinda saddened, but I'm sure we won't be forgotten .

An interesting question, however as manner as Sheth is I've seen some pretty hilarious bm from Sheth. Hilarious, Polite BM only Sheth could achieve. Can't wait to watch this.
Well this just made me quite happy. I do hope we can watch some fun/interesting games! I really love watching TLA, too bad I never get a chance to play, haha
On May 27 2011 07:35 Vuistgevecht wrote: Will there ever be a TL attack on EU?
There will be, but it really depends on player availability. We probably should have done the TLO one on EU, but it was too late to change it once we announced, our apologies for that.
TLA is pretty much my favorite thing TL does. I'm watching the TLO one now. Pumped that this is a whole new season. Sheth is great too. Pumped for this.
"If you think about it, we pretty good at gaming, back when everything was so hard." SC2BW was pretty dope.
EDIT: TL should have some event where they do SC2 to SC2BW to BW. Like a clash of champions in every medium. I would love to watch that.
BTW, maverck (the creator of sc2bw mod), released an update on his mod, now, after so much wait, he finally managed to bring back the dragoons goo :D
here are a few notes from his update: # New Valkyrie Texture by buhhy # New model for Comsat. has animations now. # Work Animation added to Science Facility (lights flash when upgrading) # Dragoons now make a mess

Europe has a couple different timezones (5 I think?) but I guess it would be great if people started to use UTC (Universal Time Coordinated) or GMT as some still call it 40 years later.
teamliquid.net is usually pretty good about using the [local] feature. Just put your timezone in your profile.
Also yeah i dont know who is nicer TtWhite-ra or Sheth but daaamn sheth collars up nice, very handsome and a stunning smile ;p so a zerg TL attack eh. Lets see some mass queens, or mass banelings!
On May 28 2011 00:38 jerryjohnston wrote: what time is that japan/korea time?
That is 03:00 KST.
Sidenote: By expanding "Upcoming events" on the right side, you can find the event and click on it, and the time will be listed for a handful of common time zones (KST one of them).
That SC2BW map last week, holy crap. I really want to start messing around on that more. I can't wait to see Sheth today, he should make for an awesome TL Attack

I think he means in the stream list? For me, at least, I like to open the stream page even if it's offline just so I can have it ready. It seems like the link for TeamLiquidTV is gone completely from the list of streams. I'm not sure what's going on.
why are you now streaming on justin tv - at least for ustream it worked perfectly fine - justin tv still works not for many europeans :/ - and my connection is more than good enough to handle the amount of data :§ - so iuts not possbile for me to watch tl events anymore
Can you pre-screen the SC2BW players through PMs or something. Kind of disappoint showings. You can check the SC2 player ability vaguely with profiles, but you need something outside of the game to confirm BW ability.
yeahhhh tournament , that would be awesome , BrTalrog tried to make one but due to organisation issue and a lack of visibility it was not really a success
Corsairs get a speed upgrade? Wtf? Isn't that scouts? And for those that don't know corsairs are great not just for fast attack but because they have small splash damage. Also d-web but rarely researched and used.

We need someone who can actually beat Sheth xD Tyler/Mondragon/IdrA around? :p Edit: Or actually Grobyc still streams BW, he's streaming right now maybe could get him to play.
I'm amazed how well that modification has turned out, gj to the designers.
You'll be even more amazed when you'll know that this mod was almost entirely done by a SINGLE guy! ( maverck) Basically he did everything except the custom models like the queen/carrier etc. It's really nice to see his work getting the recognition it deserves .

BW hasn't went anywhere.
Nothing is stopping you from still playing/watching it whenever.
I still watch the odd MSL or ProLeague. And i don't think i could play BW anymore. I was only C- when i played. Now GM at SCII haha. Pretty much sums up the difficulty of the game.
That was epic! So the thing to do now is to organize a SC2BW tourney, with Day9 (as a player), Idra, Chosen... and every sc2 pro that played high level sc:bw... that would be epic!

I'd personally donate $50 to the prize pool if this happened.

The game is only as difficult as your opponents are good at the game. It doesn't make sense to argue that the game is easy because you are Grand Master and didn't get further than C in BW. Your opponents determine the level difficulty and your performance relative to the competition, not the game. ICCup attracted the hard core of Brood War. Casual players probably didn't even know about it. SC2 has a lot of casual players. It only makes sense for a hard core player like you to be ranked among the top when the entire spectrum of players are ranked in a single ladder.
Brilliant Brilliant! Love this map big props to you Maverck and well played by all the players so entertaining! The tourni idea has to happen no question! <3 to all :-)
Really good cast! Sheth being very nice and Chill and Hot_Bid make an excellent duo.
Also loved the SC2BW games. Some nice nostalgic moments there! I found it hilarious that you forgot quite a bit about BW even though you watched and played it for so long!
Maybe you could organize a small friendly SC2BW-tourney with old legends battling against each other to see who hasn't forgotten their skills? That way the newer people could better understand how giants like Mondragon etc. became popular.

It was super fun to watch, ty for the broadcast TL + Sheth + FXO. Also, Thanks for the game Sheth, you beat me into the ground but I still went at the end.
Sorry for the delay in the VODs, our encoding / streaming PC is out of operation for the time being so I'm having to do everything on very non-optimal hardware.
Great episode, it was really great getting to hear Sheth chat, especially about the upcoming trip to Korea. This is a great way to get to know more about the players -- it's laid back and fun to watch even when they're not talking about anything in particular. Looking forward to the next cast! GL to Sheth in Korea and thanks for taking the time to play :-)

hate to correct you again but "Australians" is a nationality, Australia is a multi-ethnic nation.
Maan.. Sheth vs morrow was soooo fucking epic.. Why am i feeling like this mod is 10times better than sc2...? Its a kinda strange mix between sc2 and bw...

How sure are you about that? Nah but seriously i might go insane with all this talk about how awesome the sc2bw game was.
It's weird, the cast was still available on JustinTV when I got home last night, I was very happy and started watching it. Got about 1/3 of the way through when it stopped streaming, when I refreshed the page the video had gone and I can no longer find it. Guess it expired or something :< Still pretty gutting, can't wait for the VOD

As the old saying goes, "better to have watched and lost, than to never have watched at all."
Thank you very much for the evening with TL attack. It's a nice concept, not as stressed as tournaments and the casters sound like they're enjoying themselves. I'll be looking forward to the next one, hoping the star will be as nice and funny as Sheth.
PS: Chill is perfect for this kind of thing, someone give him a hug! ^^
I so want a "NO SPOILING OF THE GAMES UNTIL THE VODS ARE UP" on the top of this. I hate seeing posts about bits of the games when I couldn't see them because I was busy in an epic PvZ >.>

OMG ITS BEEN @$ HOURS +, did something happen to VODS? I've heard good reviews and I've been dying to watch this. Are there legal issues with Sheth's roommate or something?

In a thread dedicated to a series of joke / show matches, how could there be any discussion that doesn't spoil something?
It's just stupid to read this thread and not expect spoilers.
Thanks Zappymong been waiting since Saturday cause I couldn't watch it live. LOL @ 1h:25m into the game with the 10 minute 4 gate strategy and then the Jaedong ee han timing clip over it. Priceless ^^

I'll go follow TL.Net on Youtube with my blimey account. Haha I'm loving these sc2bw maps on sc2 so awesome. Time to get my 2010 D+ up in this. Also for people wanting to hear the most epic GG in the history of GG's right down there. Superfight, Boxer vs Yellow ^^
start at 1 minute in.
*edit* even had the buffer into GG right in the end. <3
okay I am very sad now. I thought sheth was a hardcore competitor but he seems to be apprehensive about facing "the hardest competition" in Korea and thus he wouldn't even take a Code S spot! I mean I can understand the reason of not going due to lifestyle changes and the growth of Esports in the NA scene (like Idra), but he seems reluctant because of the fierce competition in Korea and his chances of winning.
This is why I respect Jinro and Huk. Sure, they can bask in the good old USA and have an easier time "winning", but they chose Korea because they want to face the best. They don't care about winning every battle, they care only about winning the hardest ones.

Sheth is being realistic, competition is extremely tough there and his team overall are very weak in comparasin to Korean teams. It's already showing that they do want to play against the best by making the commitment to go to the team league.
The thing is none of this matters if you can't support yourself comfortably in Korea long term, or if you simply don't want to be away from friends and family. Sure a lot of these guys want to be pro gamers, but they can do that outside of Korea and be a lot happier in life.
OMG! My heart skipped a beat when I read this. I'm so happy right now! Sheth is easily one of my favorite people in the world. I cannot wait for this. And for some sick sc2bw

Golgotha was disappointed because Sheth said he wouldn't take a code S spot if he wasn't moving to Korea, because the competition is too tough. I agree with Golgotha, that is strange, you would think a SC2 pro would want to go to the mecca of starcraft and test themselves against the best. If nothing else in Code S you could treat it just like a normal (albeit very long) tournament and go home after it. You wouldn't have to be in Korea for more than a month, and would most likely improve as a player which would help further your career afterwards as well. Not to mention the extra fans you would get and PR you would give your team for representing foreigners in the greatest SC2 tournament in the world.
I really hope when the Code S spot is given at Anaheim and later MLGs it's won by those who want to go to Korea and prove themselves against the best.
