Guys I was the best recruit. I came with a list of the people we needed to kill. Literally.

That's why the game ended.

For the most part big games don't exist anymore I think. This one was never going to start without Koshi and his mass recruitment.

Pretty much this. Both ShiaoPi and I had large themed games, this game and Infernal Affairs respectively, that just didn't start. It was around that time that Fool pretty much killed large themed games because no one played in them. Until this game, Catastrophe Mafia was going to be the last large themed game for a while, though I am glad that this game got revived even though it ended like this T_T.

How did foolishness kill them? I thought it was just that people didn't like them much anymore overall.

Yeah, that's poorly worded by me. I meant it more like that was the final nail in the coffin. Now that Foolish has acknowledged that no one wants to play them, the large themed queue is effectively dead.

I dunno I think there's a point to see if an idea can generate hype or interest BEFORE making the setup now, ie catastrophe.

So for example if ver's setup (responsibility) generates interest it could work.

In theory that can work, but for me it doesn't work. I basically have to create most of my setup to feel comfortable enough to put it out there for people to play. If not I might not have thought of everything and the game might be broken, or the game just doesn't seem fun, etc.

But you don't have to reveal your setup in its entirety, you just give the people A general idea of the game or theme and see if people appear to want to play it/ are excited by it. You can make any changes and tweaks and finish your setup anytime after.

I know what you're saying but I've had game ideas I thought were good, but after spending some time on them I realize they actually weren't, so I didn't put them on the queue. I guess I could just put out the idea and if there's interest, work on it, but if the idea actually sucks, just cancel it. Eh, sure that could work. I guess I don't like cancelling games, so that's why I'm hesitant.

well....gg?

SHIAOPI I REALLY LIKE THE IDEA AND I DON'T KNOW THAT A 4 RECRUITER SETUP IS SUPER DUPER BALANCEABLE ANYWAY, YOU JUST GOTTA HOPE WE KILL EACH OTHER AND MAYBE WE DO SO WHO KNOWS. BUT IT WAS FUN EVEN THOUGH I GOT KILLED EARLY AND SPENT HALF MY TIME PLAYING THE GAME, HALF MY TIME ASKING YOU EVERY QUESTION IMAGINABLE

I FULLY AGREE WITH THIS

You should just host a second one starting right now to make up for it. Idk.

Poofter's QT got some nasty anti-ABBA bias.

And HF, this here's 'murica. In 'murica, ABBA recruits you. I dunno what kind of Soviet mafia you think you're playing where you can just go around recruiting me and my love for ABBA all willy-nilly.

I will admit that I 100% did not think about it being a failed recruit. There was a chance in my head you were faking it, but I SHOULD have thought about the fake recruiting, coulda tried to poop on your claim.

I was so excited to get revived in a game though that I figured I'd just try to spam stuff and avoid lynch, and then just keep getting revived.

big games have to have a specific catch that makes people want to play, like LoL in wave's game.

It's true. Either that or you have to go out and do the recruiting for it. Honestly I feel that some of Ver's games only filled up because he went out of his way to personally ask people (not saying his setup was bad or anything, just that I thought he'd have trouble finding enough people). And Koshi asking around to get this game going is how it got started. Sending out PMs goes a long way.

Thanks to ShiaoPi and company for hosting!

There were definitely some interesting concepts, even if they didn't work out in practice.

Funny enough, with four single person factions on day one, a RNG lynch isn't so bad after all

I think my enjoyment of this game increased significantly after deciding to put less effort in and go with the flow. Like layabout was saying, the thread was pretty unbearable due to the size. 250 pages in two cycles is just too much.
I'm better than dirt. Well, most kinds of dirt. I mean not that fancy store bought dirt. That stuffs loaded with nutrients. I... I can't compete with that stuff.

I would like to note that despite Odin flipping town, in this particular game RNG lynch remained the right choice. Honestly, with all the recruitment going on it would have been a fine choice D3 also

Woo I didn't realize this game ended.
But I noted this in the obs when I was trying playing catch up.
I'm not even mad for your case!~
I don't understand enough to say if RNG is worth it in any setup. So I'll just trust you on that ;p.

Sorry for playing bad guys! I had some major time restraints making this game super hard for me to remain active in!

Fast edit: But your case on me is bad BH! You should feel bad!

Ye that was my bad. In my defense the day BH posted his case..

I had come home, read like 60 pages, noted BH wasn't going to get lynched so I just dropped him on a backburner, and then woke up lynched.

Edit: Rip 70 hr work weeks xD!
