I like the player skill level on TL but hate the standard rules here. One other rule I hate about big games on TL (didnt effect this game obv) is the scum kill point system. Everywhere else I play the scum get 1 kill per night. Thats it. Doesnt matter if its 22 player game with 5 scum or 7 player game with 2 scum or whatever. 1 scum team = 1 kill. It makes roles like SK more scarey or a 2nd night kill more a point of interest (was it a one time night action, is there a sk, is there a weirdness going on like a 2nd scum team, etc). It also makes it so that the game feels more stable from a VT perspective. /soapbox on mafia rules

Alot of it was marv just getting unlucky though - making a case on two blues. that after his approach to day 1 was a really tough spot to be in. I personally don't agree with the self hammer but I can also see the gambit that was being attempted. Just not something I would do or want a scum team mate to do. I think my balls dropped like 5 feet when marv self-hammered. I thought he just got sick of the game as town. Even had this fail-gif prepared: + Show Spoiler + Having played alot of hammer games, I knew exactly how marv was going to flip the second I saw it happen. Marv has played enough games to think of small advantages and there is small advantages to scum self hammer (stops conversation for 1) and huge disadvantages to town self hammer. You can make a very good argument that town self hammering is actually playing vs your win condition (especially with this setup of no deadline).

Of course, as soon as I say that it becomes less true, but it still applies. Hammering is usually not something you want to do as scum. Even done well, you naturally stick out in people's minds as the hammerer. Just because a guy hammers a townie doesn't make him scum. A good and powerful scum move can be to be that leader that is discussing things and leading things. You can reach a point where its like close to deadline anyways and then drop the hammer in a way that seems to be agreed upon. At that point its just wifom to judge that hammer and you have to find other facts to support a case against that hammerer. @ Zbo- I understand the mindset you had when you hammered me, just realize that feeling inpatient in a game with no deadline might be a mind set that benefits scum way more than town. Hammer should make the town patient as fuck in all cases. Putting someone at -1 hammer can be dangerous even. The extreme case is when scum have a read or found a crumb and decide to sac a player to hammer a player that might be a power role. I also found it very scummy how you hammered me and made a very weak case around it. You would have been better off saying, "Fuck this guy, he has had enough time ##vote vaderseven." The way you did it seemed very contrived to me and because of that you became the #1 scum suspect on my list. Town players only hammer with strong good reasons. Hence why it can be so awesome if you are scum and you pull off a good hammer. Its like an amazing play to gain town cred... if you can pull it off.
