You know, this game is actually pretty easy now that I think about it, if we follow this:
Get everybody except me+another townie to like 2 HP. After that, kill everybody except the townie. Win
That's it, we only need to find 1 more townie (I think WBG is the most likely one) to win us the game.
The total HP of everybody except me and WBG is 114. If everybody is at 2 HP, that means we'd need 100 damage
We have 48 potential damage right now, and if we get 12 points of damage total with the new creatures in play, we can do that in 2 turns.
This turn, people summon creatures up to 12 power total, and use the 48 damage on everybody except me and WBG. We'd need 52 damage to get to the "ideal" situation above. Next turn I die and lose 8 damage, dropping it to 40, however if we get at least creatures with 12 power total, we can deal 52 damage. Next WBG gets hit for 14 points However, the next turn everybody will be at 2 HP, and WBG will be at 14. Everybody then just attack each other in a circle to take their 2 HP away, and WBG will be the sole survivor. If WBG is town we win the game.
So yeah, we only need to find 1 townie to win this. I think WBG is most likely townie and the only one I'm not paranoid right now, so it can work with him.
This is an incredibly bad idea

If I recall all attacks are done simultaneously, so if everybody is dropped to 0 HP at the same time, then scum won't be alive "1 second before" and win by outnumbering the remaining townies and shit.

You are willing to base everything on the bolded section above? As well as gamble that Scum will do absolutly nothing with their cards to combat this plan?

of course this is only if your scum. if your not scum then the town would eventually eventually kill everyone else except you guys from the mafia manipulation and the fact that anyone who was suspicious of anyone could just kill whoever they are suspicious about. then the mafia beast would kill you

Just note as I run a mono red burn deck, this idea would be awesome for me, I'd simply kill everyone on 2 health, and win it solo as town.
But I'm alot more with the traditional find a scum or someone who will give us enormous amount of info if flipped and kill him. Carefully and methodically 1by1.
This everyone dead except 1 person is all boils down to luck and is very risky. In the end who can we all trust except ourselves?

If I'm not town then I won't be killed by scum next turn, so obviously the plan wouldn't work at all (since it hinges on me dying next turn).

No, I didn't say WBG HAD to be the one and nobody else, I said "a townie" had to be chosen (and I said IMO the most likely townie was WBG).
If you think someone else is "obvious town" then pick that one. Finding townies in games is easier than finding scum. Finding 1 townie out of 6 townies and 2 scum is easier than finding 2 scum out of 8 players (I'm excluding myself here).
Hmm, scum could try to shoot/kill the "townie" we choose instead of killing me....but then the only thing they could do is argumentate I'm scum and get everybody against me. Hmm...I guess some of you guys may not believe me at that point so it wouldn't be a great idea in the end.
On July 01 2012 08:20 strongandbig wrote: I would really rather not bet the whole game on one particular person being town rather than on traditional scumhunting.
You can't really have "traditional scumhunting" this game though, because the mechanics differ GREATLY from any mafia game (even bastard ones and stuff), mostly because there are almost no flips whatsoever until late-game.
If you want to find someone's alignment and kill him (which you would do via lynch or vig shot in a normal game) you need to basically tunnel the guy for like 2 or 3 turns to get him killed alone; and in the mean time scum would be able to deal more than 20 damage with their beast. So basically in this game you have to catch all scum without any flip whatsoever, which would be like being in a normal mafia game whose D1 lasted 2 weeks. You can't see if someone is scum by how they interacted with a confirmed flipped town/scum for instance. Well that should be left for Post-Game anyways.
What do you guys think of Mattchew? Would anybody be willing to kill him/reduce his HP today?

Yes, not attacking anyone is just a waste as attacking me (but attacking me is a waste nonetheless).
...actually, yeah they could have attacked me instead (for instance if Nova was scum, they could have avoided the "They will attack Nova tonight if he's town" deal by attacking me). Maybe they did just forget about it? Or maybe they just planned it but didn't figure out they could have attacked me as well.
Well...they could have always planned to "waste" their attack but create some more suspicion on me by not attacking, but meh.

Matt doesn't post anything, just pops up now and then accuses me, zealos or whomever and disappears again. I don't know is this scummy behaviour?
From previous games have 1 of the scum done this frequently?
I'm not experienced enough to know if lurking = highly likely scum.

No he is saying why he personally wasn't attacked and what he said is true. We shouldn't focus on this no attack, scum clearly wants to distract us with it. We should actually work to find scum not work to find out why scum did something that seems so offbeat to us. I do look forward to reading the scum qt in the postgame so I can figure out what the hell they were thinking but for now it is enough to know that they want to mislead us with their lack of attack. We should move on and continue scum hunting.

Okay, other than Zealos who do you think is scum? What about Nova? What are your thoughts on him?

wtf happened? oO Is this supposed to be some wifom because they couldn't kill gonzaw and didn't want to attack me / Nova because that'd confirm me or because it would confirm nova (either way lol)? I can't think of this being effective unless we screw up big time. I'd say either way, this is supposed to confuse us SOMEHOW. Therefore I'd say we don't talk / think about that at all. Surely mafia wants us to talk / think about it for some reason. We're given a free circle. Let's use that circle without even getting into wifom.
If someone else already said something like that sorry. I'm just now catching up. Also I have to kill one of my monsters... I'm still not drawing lands and if I kill one I can draw to more cards.

How does the mafia attack work?
Do both players need to agree? Or or is only one designated at the controller? That person but pm you?G

Do both players need to agree? Or or is only one designated at the controller? That person but pm you?G usually it's "one of mafia has to PM a host" and it's enough. At least that's how KP in normal games work, you don't need to get to the same conclusion as mafia. So even if they would argue and have different opinions on their target they would have send in something and that way someone would have get shot. Probably Artanis would have made some call to decide it like "whoever pm'ed me first get's to make the decision" but as we don't have KP noone pm'ed something at all. Either Mafia is retarded and forgot about it although they had full 24hours or they did that on purpose to confuse us.
Either way we don't get something out of it because if they forgot about it that's a nulltell (could be something like "duuuude. I thought you send the kill in like you did last night"). Or they did it on purpose and want us to talk about it. Therefore I'd say we drop it and be happy about it. I have two different explanations for it as well but it's feeling incredible paranoid at this time and as mentioned I don't think it's wise to talk wifom when there's roughly a 50% chance they want us to talk wifom in the first place.
