"1 Mafia Role Blocker, 1 Mafia Goon, 5 Townie, 1 Medic, 1 Detective 1 Mafia Role Blocker, 1 Mafia Goon, 7 Townie" To me this seems a little odd. I assume they are both in there because they are supposedly equally balanced but how can you have the same number of mafia in both but one has two blues whilst the other has none. Surely the setup with the blues is either overpowered or the one without is under-powered? Maybe I am having a logic fail but it just looks weird to me.

Town is weaker in the one with no blues, but scum have to account for the possibility of there being two blues for the entire game, which sort of makes up for it. Town is a little weak in that setup, but its not a crippling "weaker" thanks to the variable setups its still ok. Basically, its due to the fact that there isn't so much an exact point of balance in the game as a "sweetspot" where the game is balanced, and any of the setups that comes up (thanks to the semi-open nature of the game) is going to be balanced, even though some setups slightly favor one team.

If only one of the setups was there then mafia would know which power roles to expect. You're right in that between the two town is more powerful in one over the other but mafia don't know which one is the one they're playing if the two exist like that. That issue is why I prefer the C9++-esque randomization of a setup, since in theory all the setups are equally balanced and almost anything (by way of power roles) is possible. Also ET I'm willing to coach for either side. that was my /in ![]() + Show Spoiler + but no really I wanna play too ![]()

The point stands though, that as an information game, having the RBer there makes the mafia team have to consider the possibility of two blues against them. Thus they have to consider who to RB, if they should RB and shoot, etc. But if they end up RBing someone who looks quite townie, and that townie claims the RB, then they might gain more cred. Additionally, if the mafia team realizes there is no blue, they can fake claim the RB N2 or N3, lending some cred. Short answer: it introduces more possibilities, and forces the scum team to think more. The questions are good; it's important to consider these things ahead of time. ^^ I am considering the setup's balance, so I may change the setup pending discussion.

This game will be Prince of Persia themed, because PoP is the best. Currently 1 slot remaining! I may consider expanding the game to 10 players, depending on interest. The deadline is going to be set at 23:00 GMT (+00:00). Please let me know if this time will be an issue for you. The game will start this Friday.

There will be more newbie games to be had, so don't feel a need to rush into this game unless you are sure you will have time to play in both.
