During a lot of games people will play agressively, what do you mean by "nice"?

I said something earlier but I actually wasn't thinking too hard. I agree with Incog. EDIT: Like this is one game-breaking strategy for town: Cop always claims day 1. Either there's a doctor or a watcher. Scum knows, but it's still pointless. In the case of a watcher the RB/shooter gets caught, in the case of a doctor the cop pretty much just becomes a confirmed townie. Mason>cop IMO. Game-breaking strat #2: Doctor claims toward the end of day 1 after it's obvious no cop will claim, thus he knows the setup because any cop with half a brain would've insta-claimed. With the existence of a watcher, doctor cannot be roleblocked/shot because the watcher will see the action performed. If roleblocker is lynched, watcher can then claim. At that point town just needs to lynch one scum and that won't be hard at all. Once that's done the last scum is pretty much fucked. Doctor protects watcher every night, watcher watches doctor every night. Once they get to 3 players left, scum, doc, watcher, two confirmed town vs one nonconfirmed=dead scum.

The role blocker cannot get caught by the watcher, so effectively A) and B) are the same in the context of your strategy. Mafia perpetually roleblocks the Cop. Your cop isn't even a confirmed townie because of the fact that mafia know the setup, and in the event of C), can fake claim cop, claiming roleblock every day, and town doesn't know the difference until one of the doc/watcher dies and the other speaks up. Even then if the fake cop plays convincingly or the doc/watcher has a bad post history, mafia still have reasonable chances. So actually the cop claim doesn't work. Since this claim doesn't work, then scenario 2 will never happen.

Since this claim doesn't work, then scenario 2 will never happen. Why would a cop ever not claim in this setup? If someone CCs you kill them both. 1 for 1 is greatly beneficial for town. Why can't the roleblocker get caught by the watcher? Town Watcher Every night, you may choose a player other than yourself to watch. You will learn the names of every player that performed an action on your target that night. (Roleblocked players do not perform actions.) You win with the town. It doesn't say the roleblocker doesn't perform an action (as in, the roleblock isn't counted as an action) it just says that roleblocked players don't do actions...which is actually rather trivial.

I would like to note for my players, however, that what wherebugsgo suggests is not actually an optimal strategy. But since this game serves as a learning environment in addition to a place to have a fun, you are welcome to try any strategy that you think is wise, to see how things play out (and if the mafia responds correctly). Please also note that I've updated the opening posts to the game thread in three ways: The deadline for the day/night cycle has been decided, it will be 10:00 KST/TeamLiquid time. As the game will indeed utilize coaches, I have added a new rule in that regards - players should not reveal or hint to the identity of their coach, and should not attribute any ideas, plans, etc. as their coach's advice. Take advantage of your coach's experience to learn about how to play, but remember to make your own decisions. Don't let the coach play the game through you, as you are the player after all! Finally, I have modified the role descriptions to make unambiguously clear exactly what kind of information is generated by night action interaction. (I originally wanted to avoid using "visit" terminology, but in the end, this is one of the ways to make things completely clear.)

- Day 1 - ![]() It was a first, all the students were in attendance early. They were all tense, in every glance was suspicion. It had only taken one little text message, and the usual camaraderie had been shattered. Professor Zona entered at the strike of the hour, and the students silently followed his progress across the room. "Welcome, to Truth 101. I hope everyone has received their instructions. Some among you have been designated as liars, and it is the objective of the rest of you to find them, and vote them out of the exercise. Those voted out fail this class, and will be excused from future lessons." Varpulis, a diligent student in the front row raised his hand, a clever smile on his face. "Professor, we can decide here and now if I fail or not. It´s simple. This statement is a lie!" "Clever, very clever. A paradox. Varpulis, was it? You will still fail this class, though" Varpulis grinned triumphant. "Yes I will!" "Correct, Varpulis! Well done! There is the door." Varpulis made a confused grimace and walked out the door, mumbling to himself. Zona gave the class leave to begin. Few noticed in the heat of debate that one of the older students was being awfully quiet, perpetually drinking form his cup of coffee. After finally emptying his glass he began a drunken rant, and noone could mistake the smell of hard liquor on his breath. "I´m on to you guys, I´ll get you, just wait! I´ve got my little list, and if I find any of your names on it, and BAM! You´re out! You´ll see, I got my sources!" As class looked on bemused, Zona put a stop to his mad ravings. "Flamewheel, are you drunk? Have you been drinking in my class?" "Drunk? Nonononono, just some coffee, see?" *sniff*sniff* "Hunh? Smells odd. Has someone been putting something my morning coffee?" "Yes, yes, a well thought-out excuse. I´m afraid this won´t stand. You are dismissed!" Flamewheel left class in anger, but not long after a small bottle of Jack Daniels, empty, was found in the trashcan. It was clear that not everyone played by the book... Varpulis, the 3rd Party Planar Dragon was fatally disproven. Flamewheel, the Forum Moderator has been excused for drinking in class. Chaoser, the Village Idiot missed the first lesson and failed the class. GMarshal, the Unicorn Fashionista was sent to greener pastures. Day 1 ends in 47.5 hours, at exactly 10.00 KST the 6th of December.
