Don't have time tonight to make a full post on Foolishness; mainly posts like this seem really made of troll. I feel that his posts are only increasing disorder in town. Will post more tomorrow.
Meapak is my favorite candidate atm; posts decent reasoning on all of the other candidates, as well as a running mate. Presents good reason why "middling" town players are not as good for mayor. First post is motivating/pressuring a couple pretty well.
Candidates who need to post more or make better case IMO: risk.nuke - one post sandroba - one post CC - I don't trust him BM - isn't really saying why he should be mayor/what would he do, other than the fact that he has a scumtell and a towntell.
50+% of people haven't posted yet, let's get ball rolling ![](/mirror/smilies/smile.gif)

Welp. Not sure if Zona will let me play this and Purgatory at the same time, so I might get replaced early.
My first thoughts are that I want to vote BC/Meapak, since they seem to be making the most sense right now.

Echelon, Foolishness already made a post for me I was definitely going to be typing a wall based upon my intent to scumhunt would you rather trust it with Meapak? I mean, he attacks my ability to scumhunt, and he hasn't ever played with me, or seen me play in a non-PM game.
Speaking of Meapak, I am really getting a village idiot vibe from him. His criticism of Nissani has me wondering if he is a VI or if he is scum trying to push an easy lynch. Nissani's complaining about the mayoral candidates is actually my strongest towntell from the thread so far. I'm also like Adam. Recently, I've been vibing Cyber_Cheese as town. I like his attacking Mr.Wiggles for setup speculation.
|
How is meapak criticizing Nissani, an easy lynch, a characteristic of a VI? This is an honest question because I just don't see it.
Regardless, I don't think there are any 3rd party roles. Yeah, there aren't, I checked.
I actually agree with your assessment on Nissani... I don't think it's a super strong town tell, but yah.
|
If you're reading it the same way as I am, and Meapak isn't understanding it, he's either scum or dumb
|
the one thing we need to find out is whether or not nissani is the type of guy to fake something like that

Unless I'm mistaken, he can't be Village Idiot. So let's stop this discussion now before it spirals out of control.

Ok, disregard what I said about the third party nonsense, mistook VI for a Jester. Still wondering though, about how meapak looks like a VI.

This hasn't been mentioned yet and I think it deserves to be:

Electing our best scum hunters so they can use the bodyguards as shields is just inviting the scum to wipe out both of our elected officials after they replace our bodyguards with their own. If they kill both officials on night 1, we'll never know who the scummy bodyguards were and we'll be down 2 of our best scum hunters and both of our elected roles.
Id prefer if our best scum hunters didn't run for election, and left their protection in the hands of the sheriff/medic.

i know there isn't a fool in this game
Adam, they get a list of who the BGs end up being, that would be giving a 1 for 1 trade, or 1 for 2 at best we can take that all day long

The officials do, sure. But if they're dead, how will they tell us who the bodyguards were that failed to protect them?

There are ways around this. Remember the elected roles know who the bodyguards are. If one is killed at night and one of them survives, we'll know who 2 of the mafia are.
As long as everyone is on the ball and put some thought into their play, we'll come out on top.

I dont understand how a random one line criticism of all candidates followed by a one liner explanation is a good town tell.

I still think it's a big risk to use mafia as bodyguards. If the elected are protted and still get shot at and survives, we know the bodyguards are mafia. So this rule just forces the medics to prot the elected roles.
is it possible to add the filter of the players to the player list, akin to link?

adam, you might be right after all i forgot this was a no PM game we should make the BGs public knowledge, and let the medic WIFOM

Hmm... I think provisions can be made against a bodyguard coup like that; I'll refrain from theorycrafting too much, but remember that the elected roles know who are elected as bodyguard.
There are enough good scumhunters in this game (presumably) that having some in the powerful/relatively protected positions is a good thing. Saying that they might be shot doesn't really matter when if not mayor/sheriff they also can easily be shot.
When killed, do Bodyguards flip as Bodyguard(red or blue), or just Townie/Mafia Role?
Sleeping, see you guys later.

alright, need to sleep after this.
However, minimal reasoning follows:
in every game I've ever played with Palmar that has a mayoral election, he has cared greatly about it. He has run for office. He has run strongly. The exception is PYP:I, where he was just smurfing (so that's understandable) but he still cared who got elected.
In this game, he's doing his standard scum shit. I.E. being bad. Kill him.
Also Erandorr if you continue to be worthless I'd probably consider killing you too.

After some consideration, I think it might be best for the Bodyguards to be made public. The Town will fall behind quickly if the mafia take both Bodyguard roles and the elected roles are killed without divulging the names of the Bodyguards.
Here's my analysis on this: Case 1) 2 x Town Bodyguard As long as one of the Bodyguards is alive, our elected officials are protected. They will not require protection before the Bodyguards are killed thus freeing a Medic to do something else. If a player dedicates themselves to protecting a Bodyguard until they die, then the elected officials are protected as well.
Case 2) 1 x Town Bodyguard If the mafia kills the Town Bodyguard then the elected officials are vulnerable. However, if the elected officials are targetted we will have learned that the other Bodyguard is mafia. Not a good trade, but at least we don't come away with nothing.
Case 3) 0 x Town Bodyguard Here, if either of the elected officials are killed before the Bodyguards are both lynched, we'll have confirmed mafia.

ok I'm back and I've scrolled through the pages looking at the pictures ( :p ) and found that one post as well. I got to agree with wbg here. There's basicly two options imo. 1) Palmar is mafia and doesn't care about the thread 2) Palmar is doing another trick to get something happening.
Neither do I like option 1 nor do I like option 2 given how that turned out last game. Take into consideration I really only just scrolled through very fast and I found that strange as well. I'm only starting to catch up right now and will probably post something about it in a couple of hours.
