Nah we got that covered there's gonna be a limit for certain roles. So say only 3-4 detective/investigative type roles, if more are picked the extras default to vanilla. Stuff like a JOAT would count as 1/2 a role.

I call Ace's imba Unkillable Unlynchable role.

Also if someone tries to pick an OP role it will default to vanilla as well.

We are allowed to do 1 normal and 1 mini. Does orgah mafia count as normal or mini?

1. What do you define as an investigative role? Does a weak medic count? 2. How are you defining imbalanced roles? Is Bad Santa imbalanced? What about Silencer? Or CPR Doctor? What about 3 night life veterans? Or Bus Drivers? 3. Do players know when they make their selections that you consider their role choice to be imbalanced? 4. Will players be allowed to communicate with each other during the phase where they are picking powers for each other?

1. Tracker/watcher/rolecheck/alignment check. Weak medic wouldn't count as even if he finds someone of opposite alignment he can't communicate this to anyone as he is dead
2. One of the things we want to iron out I'd welcome your help/advice to balance. Roles like bad santa/cpr doc etc. could be limited to one only for example.
3. I will hopefully have clear rules on balance by the time the post is up. Considering how far down the list this game will be there should be plenty of time. If someone still picks an unbalanced role it will either be nerfed somewhat or default to vanilla. Not too sure which is better yet.
4. Preferably not though this might be difficult to do. I'd like the game to be more about people coming up with interesting/unusual powers rather than making a master picking plan a la PYP2/3. That's also the reason alignments won't be given out until the powers are all picked.

That's also the reason alignments won't be given out until the powers are all picked. 1. There was an idea to get around this. Every night everyone announces a medic protection. If there are more people dead that night than the KP, then the weak medic protected a mafia. Go back to their post where they protection claimed and learn who they protected.
2. PM me about this.
4. How is this difficult? Just disallow PMs or people talking about the roles they are creating during the first cycle.

Its been suggested I do an advertisement in this sub-forum, I believe.
Is there anyone I need to contact to gain permission, or is it simply just go ahead and post.

And no, you don't need permission. The mods usually allow this forum to recruit every now and then as long as we aren't too obnoxious about it.

I honestly had no idea what to say to these people. Normally the recruitment I do is just former players, who already know what mafia is.
Here it is

I hate to double post, but can I get a name or link to who new people should talk to, to gain access to this sub-forum?
I figure I may as well do some off site recruiting.

Maybe throw in your Orgrah OP in spoilers? Or even the generic Updated OP

Request forum permission If we make a separate game for a thread, then the mods prefer people just ask for permission in that thread. That way they can go through and just give everyone there permission.
pevergreen, I made a post in your sports and games thread. Feel free to copy as much of it into your OP as you see fit.

Orgah mafia should start within a few days. My offsite recruitment post will probably bring in quite a few, already two requesting access, most haven't read it yet. Up to 16 sign ups.
TL members will be given priority though.

I updated the OP of the active list thread so it looks shiny! If anyone thinks I should add anything or implement new features just let me know.
I decided to remove the point system altogether. Since the hosting queue operates on a first come first serve basis, the point system is rather useless. We may need it in the future should our forum continue to grow, but until that time we don't need to bother with it.
