Well, obviously Nadal and Djokovic are legitimate rivals. Del Potro's just a cut beneath. But it seems that every time Federer is about to achieve a major milestone, Del Potro is there to stymie him. Remains to see what will happen this time, of course.

15-15, 3rd set.

Del Potro serving.

2nd serve. Federer changes it up midway through the rally, and gets the upper hand. Her follows up with a hard forehand, which Del Potro can't get back into play. 0-15.

2nd serve. Ball was called ace, but Federer challanged. A long rally follows on the second serve, with Federer having some luck with a ball landing on the line of Del potro giving Federer the upper hand. He pressures Del Potro, who can only fire a ball long. 0-30.

Ace, Federer challanges again, but the ball is good. 15-30.

A bad bad rally for both players. Ending with Federer hitting the ball long. 30-30

Del Potro is pushing Federer on the back hand. Hits a heavy backhand to Federers backhand and comes to the net. It is way open down the line, but Federer barely misses. 40-30.

2nd serve. Another backhand cross duel. Ending with Federer sending a lofty ball just out. 16-15 Del Potro now.

I guess so. I can only recall USO 2009 though. And Federer still went through him in the 2009 FO semis five-setter when it looked like all was lost, and his big chance to get the career slam was shot.

Hope he can do the same today and get the career golden slam ._.

Partly the result of the wind. I think Federer's style partly accounts for that: he's a bit more about finesse over power, compared to the other top players, so the wind affects him more.

Ahh I see. ^^

Hope Fed's signature quick hold then long service game for his opponent will build up the pressure until Del Potro cracks...

I wish Del Potro would just end it already. Federer's serve is just too good Great tennis!

I think we see the silve medalist and the fourth place finisher in this match, regardless of who wins. Unless something similar happends to Djokovic and Murray, they will have a huge advantage.

Baby's been crying for several minutes now. Parents don't seem to be able or willing to do something about it.
