According to Google, the population of California is ~39 million and the population of the west coast is ~50 million. The population of Korea is ~50 million. It seems a bit unfair to say that NA's problem is in location and ping. That argument doesn't hold, there are 2 million active ranked accounts in KR, 1.2 million in NA. and there's twice as many diamond+ accounts in KR compared to NA. Look at player base, not country stats, otherwise China would be absolute number 1 in every game they have a player base in. But I do agree, NA and EU have a long way to go before catching up with KR's infrastructure. I'm interested how good it is in China atm actually, some of those teams are swimming in money, wonder if that converts to actual productivity. Same. Sad thing is EU has a lot of talent but no good organizations, and even the solid organizations such as Fnatic and SK don't have the LoL specialization that something like a TSM or even a C9 does. Reading some of the stuff that had leaked out of SK makes me cringe, it's shocking to hear that they don't have a solid coach, that players lack motivation, and there is a general lack of integrity. It's actually surprise they did so well, but you can completely understand why SK fell apart after they started losing. | ||
