I just want to observe that all semifinalists in LPL have 2/5 Koreans.
The imports did not necessarily put China above Korea given what Deft and Pawn said in the interview, but it did pay dividends, albeit with 9/12 teams doing it, it came down to who had the best import+local synergy.
In LoL, communication looks to be less important than raw individual skill. Of course, a team with both communication and individual skill is bound to outperform, but when picking between the two, individual skill trumps communication.

So much for that superteam
Imp confirmed realest carry of SSW

All semifinalists have 2/5 KR is not that surprising, especially considering those teams who have the money to import elite Koreans tend to have better Chinese players as well. They most likely also have better infrastructure and management thanks to the substantial funding.

Props to LGD, they dominated the series, it wasn't even a competition. TBQ was never actually the weak link, he was just easier to scapegoat than Flame (who IS the actual weak link) because fans/netizens love Flame.
TBQ could better be described as "invisible"--never good nor bad enough to stand out.

He used to be real bad and the perception just carried over. He went from negative impact to slight negative/no impact. So net gain~

How is Wieless/GodV seemingly never punished for Ori picks?

Why should Weiless be punished for Orianna pick, rofl. It's not like he picks Janna mid or something in 2015.

Base damages, mobility, poke are all ways people have been punishing her since the AD and windup changes.

Orianna is fine after athenes buff...

At worst it's a farm lane, I don't see how ori pick is exploitable.

I guess its true, they were banning Leblanc and Ez/Zed/Xerath/Corki aren't great picks right now. Surprised no last pick Ahri from Cool in g2, but who knows.

Snake vs. LGD who should I be betting on?

Going back and watching the VoDs atm
So let me get this straight:
In game 1 OMG sets up for a heavy scaling comp with Lulu, Janna, Hec They see that LGD has an excellent team for midgame teamfighting and early jungle skirmishes with Kennen, Kalista, Nunu, Gnar They then pick Rengar, a hero who likes to do early skirmishes and midgame teamfights and Tristana, a heavy scaling hero with a massive midgame power trough
Then they try to skirmish against LGD
????????????????????????????????????
FIRE EVERYONE
Edit: they also did this with Gragas and Kog'maw being open
FIRE EVEN MORE PEOPLE
Edit2: the fucking 2 item Trist jumps into the 2 item Kalista
nice
go farm an open side lane Uzi, its the only thing you're good at

Eh, King was hyped up higher than Snake going into the split. Hindsight is 20/20 especially when you consider how the communication issues were said to be a huge variable for how well these teams are going to perform.
Besides, just the fact that all the successful LPL and LSPL teams imported 2/5 Koreans says a lot in and of itself.
Now we just have to see whether the Korea Koreans are still able to monopolize these 2/5 teams. In theory, the exodus ought to have weakened them a lot, and we ought to see other regions be competitive eg what we saw at IEM. But in the event that SKT, CJ, etc. still end up roflstomping through MSI and Worlds, then League outside of Korea is literally hopeless.
