Udyr has trouble "carrying" because he doesn't really have the run up and fuck people up in two seconds potential that Lee Sin has. He's more sustained and also melee, so you need to be smarter about engages and/or have a competent team with you.

I'm not sure how Slayer feels about that, but when Saint builds Attack Speed on Udyr he dominates very quickly and typically has the most kills on the team.

Attack speed pretty good but it seems like a pretty trolly build because you don't get to attack targets for that long a duration. He doesn't do it in serious games.

But it is a pretty damn good solo queue build. In games where it's all people roaming with no communication, AS Udyr rocks. Dominion too.

In those types of games trinity is far superior because it gives you burst damage/non damage stance damage and chasing power which is 9 times out of 10 what you are really missing when you want more damage on udyr.

Yep triforce is definitely way to go with Udyr, he can utilize all 3 special effects incredibly well and can also use all the stats. I think that the aspd Udyr actually sucks pretty badly in comparison to triforce udyr. Much rather go triforce -> Gunblade -> Rageblade with FoN and Randuins

Although I think rageblade has a super situational niche (against like a full tank team, the aoe on R and shielding on W is going to be used as well the as other stats) I don't see gunblade. Would rather an AP gettig WoTA and just cashing in off whatever you get from that. Gunblade just too expensive, maybe as a last item when they aren't doing any focused damage to you at all, just aoe.

Can we please stop suggesting items like Gunblade or WotA for Udyr as if they're actually legitimate choices?

Your 3 main items on jungle phoenix Udyr are Boots2, Wit's End, and Randuin's. After that it's situational. If you're doing really well and just want to do more damage, get Trinity or Ionic Spark. If you need more armor or MR, buy those.

Saint makes any jungler work.

He takes Volibear and carries the fuck out of games with him. The problem is that the people he plays against are pretty much outclassed and he can fuck them up with the damn bear.

udyr does not need triforce, as its still too expansive overall.
if you have the money and want incredible damage,
paired with good sustain on udyr, just get a bloodthurster and HoG. attackspeed item after that, as well as sustainitems.

(just for the case your early game at top goes incredibly good, otherwise you cant afford a trinity anyways)
you should try that in a custom game with your mates... and you will see, that trinity isnt as nearly as good as raw damage with good LL and hp on tiger udyr.

i mean, WHY would you go for pure utility triforce if you got the opportunity to max out the potential of a 1.6 ratio Q spell, every like 3-4 sec? with bloodthirster only and max q, your first strike hits for ~500+ damage not counting the other hits from bear to close up to an enemy.

dont get my wrong, i would not recommend this build, but trifirce is just too weak for its cost.


at top lane i normally go for:
offensive masterys 21/9/0
teleport+flash
flat amor + flat MR + 15 ad
Q-W-W-E-W-Q-W-...(depending on what you prefer, damage or higher and extended speed bonus)
items are:
boots +3pots -> Q harass is incredibly good.
into Wriggles -> (HoG ->) Boots (depending) ->Wits End -> ...depends on opponents team


i never tryed gunblade though, as i feel udyr just needs sustain after his core.

Tiger has slightly better dueling capabilities. It has stronger "burst" for ganking, and the AS helps take down towers. It's a bit more of an offensive playstyle, but the clear speed is lower and it has much lower pushing/farming power if you're just covering a lane. It can work, and is better than like 90% of other junglers, but Phoenix is even better.

We should just abandon pussy turtle stance and go RQRE -> R > Q > E IMO. Those ganks are so cash and you clear the jangle in no time.

2 Damage stances, only need 1! Having both marginally improves damage compared to the cost of putting 5 points.

Dunno what's unmanly about 5 in turtle and just destroying everyone.
