Thanks to Reddit sleuths, everyone can try the LotV test maps by following instructions here.

Note: This is not a beta key, it is simply access to Vs. AI and a Unit Tester. I have no idea how cool with this Blizzard is or is not, use at your own risk.

I'm pretty glad Blizzard at least seems to be way more open this time regarding community feedback! Want that beta key asap, but I really hope cyclone design will be altered. Still, if this is no premature april fool's, I'm VERY curious how this'll turn out.

Holy shit i didnt see that. It could very possibly mean the end of FFE, which is sad Currently the only way to defend nydus type of allins with FFE is to kill the worm before it spawns

I hope LotV changes many things. I cant see anymore that 200 vs 200 fights only take 2sec and I hope we dont see tenthousend times 200 vs 200 fights in a game (feels like wave into next wave on both sides endless times).

Agreed. A lot of units and their attacks in SC2 don't feel powerful T_T

Also: It does look like it 2 shots an SCV, which gives us some idea of how strong it is in terms of damage.

Am i the only one who feels like the worker change is ridiculous and shows Blizzard has no idea why SC2 isnt as successful as MOBAs?

Like, really, at this point Blizzard thinks what separates SC2 from Moba popularity is the slow early game?

Not the lack of diversity/strategy/buildpaths/options?

Brood War was LOVED for over a decade, and it wasnt because it was a faster paced game..if anything you could argue it was a slower paced game... but thats what made it a more active game IMO. Because the beginning is so slower paced you saw good players trying to use the early game, when they had the spare APM/time... to get something done. Where they could choose to be safe and greedy, or aggressive and hoping to impact enough that their aggro paid off?

Meh... i feel like the worker change is Blizzard openly acknowledging they dont know how to design this game.

That being said... i still am going to play LotV as it seems like Zerg is getting a lot of options with roaches being upgradable.

Protoss is getting options with the Adept unit seeming decent enough to not force a colossus every game..hopefully. or at least have a standing army early that is able to leave the base without Colossus overlords for protection.

Dont really have an opinion on terran..as ive given up on the race that has those ridiculous mines that are the epitome of not fun.

Unless they completely changed the game design from scratch, 200 v 200 fights will always take 2 seconds and decide games. That will never leave SC2

I don't think it's as bad as the other crowd control spells.

iirc, units can't be attacked when under stasis. There is a setup time required for the mine, and afaik it can be destroyed with detection or preemptively detonated like a Window Mine. It might also friendly fire if friendly units are in the area when an enemy detonates it. Unless I'm mistaken about some of this.

The new Viper spell looks SICK ! Love it. A bit afraid about the freeze of the oracle though. And did they remove the other infestor spell that doubled the damage done to the opponent's units ?

I'm a zerg and maybe I shouldn't say this, but perhaps Nydus worms should have very heavy armor while spawning instead of invulnerability? Say, enough armor for the worm to be killed if 2 cannons and a full worker surround are on it from the start?

It would add an interesting strategic opportunity for the Zerg since they could draw fire with the worm while their main army attacks elsewhere. Thoughts?
