Welcome to this patch's General Discussion thread for the League of Legends subforum. This thread is for discussion around League of Legends. Free feel to talk about anything LoL related here that does not already have its own thread.
i like most of the new changes this patch. the ryze change is a joke though because mana cost is like the least worrying thing for him. the damage numbers on mythics being nerfed is really good because there was just too much damage in everything. also is that archangel change a buff or a nerf? seems like a nerf
No Graves or Nunu nerf, random Yone/Yasuo buffs and Riot still dont know what to do with Ryze. Seems like we can trust Riot to remain the same in 2021.
The extra duration to GW is hilarious. How about they address what caused the issue - the new runes and items. Now champions like Soraka are being caught in the crossfire because they stubbornly refuse to admit their mistake?

The AA change is pretty odd, occasionally a buff before you complete it but a small nerf after you complete it. Not really sure what they intended here. IMO the item need one of the three passives they dropped from it back: CDR, Shield or mana refund.
EDIT: Nevermind. Thought they nerfed Seraph's passive too, they didn't it now just have 5 more AP. It's a decent buff since AA no longer has the horrible awkward Sapphire component.
I'm going to jump straight into the placements at the start of the season to participate in that legendary madness.
It's quite hilarious the "QUEUE UP" button they placed in the "RANKED" part of our profiles doesn't work. Feels like a prophecy of what to expect in season 2021.
He might be the hardest champ to play in soloQ, how many players know all champions' abilities and more importantly how to use them - you incarnate into riven or katarina body and then what? do a perfect combo? If this passive is a critical part of Botk's power budget then we should expect a lot of fuck ups and sub optimal plays
The question is whether Riot will balance him around what he can do and what most players will do. I think they'll do the latter and just accept he might be extremely powerful in some configurations, just like Sylas. They might even overtune him after his winrate will take a dive due to people suiciding on possessed Yasuos and Fioras thinking they totally can 1v5 on those "broken" champions they hate so much.
Today I found out that Yone's ult cancels Malph's ult and applies itself while Malph's one neither does damage nor knock up. He actually takes Malph's body and brings with the rest in the center. The 1st time I threw my Malph ult on purpose over his to cancel it, however, it went the other way and later on since the guy had fast hands he was able to react to my ults and calcel them. I guess the 200 years are stronger lately than in the beginning :-)
Got the league bug again after barely playing any ranked last year (basically just played placements to gold and stopped). I'm super bad now but having fun being a silver surfer :D

Another case of Riot's very unclear CC interactions. Malphite's ultimate gives him displacement immunity, and Yone ult apparently does not stun champions that have displacement immunity, but your description makes it sound like it will still displace Malphite. Also, displacement immunity is supposed to cancel the airborne part of Yone's CC. So displacement immunity gives stun immunity here, but does not actually make you immune to displacement effects. What is this.

yeah he is displacing malph in ult the same way it would displace him if not in ult, he gets his body and carries it to the end of his (yone's) ult where everything clumps together in the air, meanwhile malph's ult goes on cd and neither does damage nor knock up
p.s there is another interesting interaction with yone;s ult. If he gets ulted by Morde when his body is separated, the moment he gets back into his body or soul whichever is the one that stays in the back, it breaks morde's ult like qss will but without morde keeping the stats. Riot said that this is a bug, unintended interaction but they are actually fine with it. So I wonder why these "bugs" are always in yone's favor and why riot do not have a problem with that xD
Been super addicted to LoL again so here is my 50 game review of solo queue and stuff:
Barely played any soloq last year so playing on a basically fresh account to regain skill. First things I noticed about this year. FINALLY. Division promos removed. Fuck yes. How this ever took so long is beyond me. Riot was out here trying to fix non-existent issues with their stupid dynamic queue while letting shit like this go on for 7+ seasons.
Another big bonus. The rollover of LP. It used to feel so shitty being at 99LP but since LP rolls over and there aren't as many promos, I'm fine with that.
Items: In general, I like most of the items. I quite like the impactfulness of them and while there are some outliers, I mostly enjoy all of the items, particularly the bruiser ones (nerf goredrinker tho rito plz). Some of the ADC items are rather uninspired and I still think some need some balancing work and some are rather useless and need changing.
SoloQ experience: Almost all my games are 30min or less. What irks me most about the Dragon stuff (this is an older change but I spent most of 2020 playing ARAM lol) is how the game becomes almost impossible if you get bad RNG against your comp (divers/assassins vs Mountain soul) for example. I might be in the minority here but I kinda miss those games that bordered around one hour epics which basically can't exist anymore as Riot has placed a timer on the game through Elder dragon.
Champion experience: Basically all my games except a handful have been jg. I think Yone is so fucking godawful except in the hands of the elite and anybody below Challenger should have the champ disabled. Every Yone I've seen has ran it down every single game. Rell surprisingly hasn't appeared as much. She seems pretty strong but not overly strong. Samira snowball is still super cancer. I would like that champ nerfed into the ground :D. Maokai support needs a nerf like yesterday.
Overall, still super addicted and can't wait to play 50 more games of LoL ASAP haha.
whats with the maokai support, I dont play a lot lately but still I do play and I never seen it my games neither on streams that I watch from time to time. I think he actually was in one game, but it was a maokai like maokai, nothing to draw the attention

Insane damage, good poke, free vision and bush control, immense zoning and area+crowd control. It's borderline gg when he get Mandate+Demonic; their synergy with his kit is actually insane.
He can do basically everything except shielding and healing allies.
Huh, interesting. I've basically been on the complete opposite side playing almost 0 LoL despite playing quite a bit last season. I just feel like the game is so burst-based nowadays, and ADCs die to everything despite not doing as much damage as before. Actually, everyone dies to everything these days due to the absurd damage in LoL.
Yone is so fucking godawful except in the hands of the elite and anybody below Challenger should have the champ disabled.
Watching Challenger streams, he seems garbage for most players there too. But if he gets ahead, he becomes pretty oppressive in certain matchups, some champs have very little counterplay to his kit. Basically a Yasuo 2.0, so at least Riot got that right.

Watch T1 vs HLE yesterday for some Maokai support legends. There were team fights were Keira was outputting the most damage on his team. He is oppressively strong when he gets ahead around objectives.

But then again maybe scrims don't matter :D
Kaisa is indeed completely gigabusted. Any small advantage means she insta shreds everyone. Having 3 different options for escapes and the chase potential is so potent.
My AD Tier List: S+ Tier: Kaisa S Tier: Jhin/Samira A Tier: Aphelios
Everything else isn't even worth playing. I think Aphelios is sleeper OP but it seems that in my elo no AD players play him.
I really havent been convinced yet by Samira and Aphelios, they tend to get blown up a lot. For me it's Kaisa > Jhin >> Samira/Aphelios/(AP Twitch) >>> the rest.
