i mean i am not one to pass up a free win but what the hell is this matchmaking, it's all anecdotal at this point but the goofy parts of it definitely still stick out like a sore thumb compared to before dynamic queue was a thing

You can't really yolo in, she's a bruiser (not a tank) and has no hard CC/ damage mitigation. All she has is the heal. If you're super ahead feel free to dive in and blow up squishies and get more ahead, but otherwise you have to remember that you're actually pretty fragile if the enemy team focuses you. Once you get like cleaver, visage, sterak's you can go ham tho

If you were exploding but not preventing the AD from staying in the fight you should probably have been killing Irelia for your AD. Edit: because death is the best CC and every amount of damage you can do to the person killing your AD is better than nothing This is not specific advise to the champion as I have never played her but just the general question you should ask yourself if you're in the front line

She has total AD ratios and shit AS, so your damage comes from tentacles and you're not going to double it or anything like that. Putting it another way: it's easier to live twice as long than to deal twice as much damage. You'll get focused: you build tanky enough to survive their burst, then rely on the tentacles healing you (~20% missing HP every 2s is pretty good). If you get 2-3 swings, someone's likely to die, so between their stuff on cooldown and less people hitting you, it becomes progressively easier. I prefer a Gauntlet+Sterak's core because it gives you tankiness, CDR, the slow field to make dodging tentacles harder, and Sterak's passive makes you even more resilient to the initial burst. Then SV for MR+healing. I rarely even build BC before 5th item (I'll just build thornmail or DMP in-between usually). As for focusing, you want to hit a bunch of people with your ult since 5 tentacles hitting 5 people is a lot more "single-target" damage than 1 tentacle hitting 1 person anyway. Plus if you do that, you usually don't have to worry about the vessel: it doesn't move, it's gonna get squashed fast and that'll mean more tentacles. I often get ahead so people don't try to engage on us, but if someone were to dive, I think I'd let the rest of their team step forward, try to catch a vessel of the diver, then ult to hit the vessel+several enemy champions. This way you can deal with their frontline/hit their squishies, while helping your own backline. Otherwise I'd say have someone who's good at initiating on your team, or a longer ranged carry so the enemy team is the one that'll need to go on you (it's more or less the same with Galio since it's easier to get good Idols on counter-initiation with him). You don't go in first. For surprise factor, note that you can ult-flash instead of the other way around, it doesn't give people as much time to run away.

kindred is a very strong dueler because she takes minimal damage during her clear and also does tons of dps so you can counterjungle real hard with good ward management

I do Gromp -> Blue -> Red and end with barely any health left. It's easier later on but I couldn't see myself fighting anywhere before like my second full clear.

Kindred has some neat stuff she can do because she is ranged and can kite pretty well. start W as well.

W start, go for the hunter's talisman instead. sounds weird not going machete but I saw a few pros go for it and after testing it myself (tried both) the clear does seem a bit easier. I was able to do a no leash full clear with just 2 refillable potions. and I'm not even a good PvE (old scip challenge attempts can attest to that) make sure you're constantly moving even against gromp/raptor because you get more stacks for your W heal I did gromp -> blue -> wolves -> raptors -> red -> krugs and was fine. with a leash I should be plenty healthy at any given time.

So when i came back I was super rusty and could not get anywhere near where i was before. i wish i didnt have anger problems because i could've possibly been playing in masters/challenger right now. but i just couldnt keep playing, i was literally hurting myself physically whenever i played badly or lost games.

I remember getting out of plat with like 50% winrate and I ended the season with 56% winrate. you don't improve if you just mindlessly spam games. it's why you see those bronze 5 players with 2k ranked games per season. this game isn't like broodwar where 2 weeks off instantly drops you like a full rank.
