Personally I think 3 reds/blue/yellow is the way to go with people grabbing a ward or 2 when they can but that will never happen in soloq ^^.

It also is relevant whether you need to save some reds for stealth champs in fights obviously.

Lee sin is my go-to- atm as there always seems to be way to improve your execution, which I enjoy very much. How is Shaco in that regard? Is he also a champion that has a pretty high skill ceiling? I'm not sure about Shaco. Nidalee is a jungler with a lot of execution and a high skill ceiling though.

Maybe if Scip makes her the next challenge we'll see something more nuanced than that, but once you get the rhythm of her reset abuse it's pretty rote.

That's not really true for Nidalee. Her optimal jungling skill use is exactly as stated with only minor variation (e.g. when you get extra pounce resets). It's not mechanically difficult beyond aiming Spears/Pounce/Swipe properly (which isn't hard, although it's lulzworthy when you throw a spear to nowhere). It is fun since it's lots and lots of button presses. In theory you can sacrifice jungling speed for reduced damage incurred by taking advantage of Hunt's root effect, but I haven't found that particularly useful compared to just diving into the rotation.

It's just so good for so little gold, especially when it reaches the point where nobody has inventory room for wards. Yet in most games I play, I asked people repeatedly to buy them, and people just don't respond. Come on. if it comes down to it, i'd still rather have the ability to kill 2+ wards with an oracle than place 1 additional ward

Shaco is due for a remake soon™ so you may want to hold off on the purchase.

Nida played by TCC in the LCS now LCS spoiler + Show Spoiler + 1st blood on invade on Elise and stealing most of opponents jungle

Components are kinda useless on Shen, noone will in good mind start him with sheen, for example, because when you compare someone like Malphite with casual sheen and Shen, Shen loses a lot there. Phage sounds cool on paper but you won't buy casual phage in beginning of game either, ultying somewhere just to die sounds bad. Zeal is even worse. Frozen mallet might be good on Shen, but it's so freaking expensive for so little profit that it sucks as well. Trinity force is the best and probably only good damage item on him post wits nerf (wits or botrk work if you really need them are okay for a 2nd item) You don't compare items to how good they are on other champions that's absurd. You don't say "oh don't get sunfire on anyone because it's better on garen" A Shen with sheen probably destroys a malph with sheen because his kit with the sheen damage outlasts malphite. Malphite runs oom very quickly and his passive regens much slower than shens Q. Shens W and Q can stop him getting low from E//Q harass before he runs out of mana. Shen usually has lots of health because of his W and Q healing and good harass so he lacks burst damage, the sheen provides that nicely. Zeal and phage aren't to be underestimated, movement speed is very good on shen because he relies on mobility to hit his ki strikes and taunts and thats all he does post ult. You normally want sunfire first of course and full tank is a more normal route but absolutely all my dominating shen games have involved wrecking with trinity wits end has always been a bit underwhelming. Botrk wouldn't be muchbetter, the ki strike as scaling sounds good on paper but realistically melees cant stick to squishies for a long time so the speed and burst of trinity is far better I've started sheen on shen anytime I'm doing really well, its the best item to punish people in lane sunfire is obviously the usual item to get
