I can't though. Also as an AP if I miss 1, 2 or 3 creeps then I can notice that I'm autoattacking them too fast and readjust. As Thresh my ADC doesn't let me have any farm. Also Thresh has a pretty long windup. Also in fucking plat I rarely have ADCs who let me have cannons/melees so I also have to try to hit the minion before he does. Do you ping the minions you're going to go for? With AD marks + E passive you'll do more damage than your ADC early, so at least you should get every cannon minion unless something wacky happens. What I mean is that I get stressed that he'll ignore my claim for that minion and take it from me anyway and thus try to contest it rather than just calmly lasthit, which often makes me attack it too early, or focus too much on it and forget about lane positioning etc. Dunno about pinging, sometimes I try to do that and some ADCs will let me while others won't. Other times adcs will let me without pinging, and I personally hate pings so I try not too use them too much :f Show nested quote +On February 05 2015 11:25 Gahlo wrote:On February 05 2015 11:18 Scip wrote:On February 05 2015 10:49 Mensol wrote:Piglet: I don't like using these headset, It's that it hurts my ears a lot. Whichever team Piglet is in needs to step their shit up It's been a big craze to have separate living and work spaces this year, assuming that is lets players relax more when they aren't scrimming and be more try hard when they are by associating the different areas with different mentalities. That's why this is interesting - it's been the craze among managers, and community was like "oh my god esports are so mature", but apparently there are players who don't like it. I don't really understand myself how it's a big deal, if the players lived by themselves or in groups of 2-3 and had to get to work by themselves then sure it's a pretty clear distinction between living and working environment and perhaps something changes for them. But as Piglet described, it's just that they move out of room with 5 computers, get in a car to drive for 5 minutes (instead of walking for 15) and go to a room with 5 computers. btw what happened to the dog? In the case of Piglet, whom I think is a very regimented player from everything I heard, he's reluctant to do it because it's different. He's knows what he's always done and it's gotten him results. It got him to a WC two years ago and probably would have gotten back to the finals last year if they could have beaten Shield at regionals. So, naturally, I expect there to be pushback from him.

I have heard of such things but I'm not convinced. Can any pro players who are forced to do that actually confirm that it helps them focus better? I know TSM had somewhat the same setup in S3. They all slept and streamed from the house and scrimmed in the poolhouse. That is, outside of Dyrus because he had issues showing up on time due to oversleeping, so he just slept there.
From everything I can gather, they moved away from that setup when they, well, moved sometime in S4 and haven't gone back to it. I know the reason for moving was so they could stay closer to the studio, since they lost about a day a week due to plane flights. Not sure if they didn't move into a similar situation because they weren't fond of it or pure property availability/price.

As someone who wears glasses I can fully agree that a bad headset can be painful not only for your ears but also for the sides of your head. If the headset pushes in the "legs" of the glasses into the sides of your head even if you adjust it then its a bad headset and needs to be replaced. Theres also the problem of finding the right headset thats big enough for your ears and are comfortable.

Sound&Price > comfort though, just need to readjust the headset every 5 minutes and then doesn't hurt as much.

If you need to readjust the headset every 5 minutes then its not a very good headset.
The ones I use I don't have to readjust at all after the first initial adjustment and are pretty damn comfortable, has nice sound, and the price is reasonable.

Headsets sort of blow anyways, I find IEMs far more comfortable, and convenient.

Speakers wherever possible, IEM's next up, and finally headset.
Only reason I use my headset is if I need to use my mic, and even then it's often around my neck rather than my head, and I'm using speakers or IEM's instead.

How would adjusting every 5 minutes help I know what it's like to have a shit headset, I've bled from behind my ears alright. It's not pleasant and if the headset's bad then adjusting won't help shit
yeah, there's no way you can make speakers work, especially when you're all 5 playing in the same room LOL

I wear glasses and have never had a problem with a headset. Right now I'm using a Steelseries one that I got for like $60 and it's perfectly comfortable.
|
No sound -> headphones if using mic
If your headset is free sponsor stuff anyway I'm sure there's some kind of minor DIY mod you can do to adjust the shape to accommodate glasses. Doesn't mean the headset isn't crap, but it can help skirt around sponsorship stuff.

I have like a $25 logitech headset that is damn near perfect for my head. I listen to everything on almost 0 volume anyways. The problem I would have with the ones they show on LCS is they look like they would cause massive overheating unless the room is ~ 0 C/32F, which would then make your hands cold.

Audiophile reporting in.
For median price there are plenty of headsets for people with glasses that fit alright. Over ear is the key. I have several monitor headphones that I use on my laptop and even without a pre-amp the sound quality is so great. The difference between a $60 headset vs a $25 is far larger than the difference between a $300 headset vs $60. That said I have spent over $1k on headphone in the past two years. QQ

Why do you think they constantly have hand warmers?
Studios tend to be kept pretty cold because lighting is hot as fuck.

It's absolutely freezing on-stage at the LCS, yes.

Well, at least they dont have sweaty ears!

I think the real reason is so Balls can't be called Sweaty Balls. Blame him imo.

In Korea they all wear random headphones anyway (except Samsung but they still seem to use IEMs and just have the headphones around their neck).

If I get ahead as Shen and need to carry, what's a good offensive item (better than sunfire / thornmail)?

I have seen folks build triforce for Shen mostly.

Which is hugely problematic since shen usually just aims to go even in lane anyways, rarely does he ever get a lane where he smashes. The time you do get ahead, is usually your midgame ulti contributions, and by then you already have boots + 2 defensive items, and building 3rd item triforce takes forever, and is a huge pain in the ass.
