Does draft pick have a different MMR than blind pick?
I have a group of friends and we were thinking of doing ranked 5's, but we decided not to because you play stupidly strong/weak teams in ranked 5's because the matchmaking isn't very good. We kinda want to do draft pick but since none of us usually play it I'm not sure we'll be matched versus reasonable opponents (which is the goal).

I have no clue about draft/blind pick difference but in ranked 5s most important thing is what part of the day you play in.It isn't really as bad as everyone makes it out to be as long as you play when as many as possible teams are playing.

Just play ranked 5s you'll get to your team elo pretty fast

Blind and Draft norms have same MMR, because they both count towards the same W/L. Ranked counts towards ranked W/L, Team Builder counts towards Team Builder W/L, and the other niche maps count towards their respective W/L as well.
Ranked 5's matchmaking is fine. Just don't be fooled by the division system because that doesn't mean anything.

If your team is silver-plat level ranked 5s does not have decent matchmaking at any time of the day. You'll get the placement teams.

dividing by 0 doesn't give you infinity. It's undefined.

IMO (K + A) / (D + 1) makes more sense.
I am thinking something like (xK + yA) / (D + 1) where x and y are scalars that is dependent on the champion. They serve as adjustments for each champion because supports are less likely to get kills, for example.
