At 6 items Jax will have BotRK and Triforce. If you stun him and he jumps to you then he doesn't need E, he'll just use the Rage passive to keep up with you (because you want to run, remember? So you have less MS since you're not hitting him).
If you just auto him with 150 AD when he has just as much armour he'll shrug it off after hitting a minion twice.

People make me sad. Riven rages at me all game saying he wrote in champ select that he'd need a lot of help against Maokai (no shit, you take a runepage with CDR blues and 0 MR). But then why didn't he read my warning that Rammus would camp, and never bought any wards?
Then again noone read it and I need smite/TP and urf mode on to be able to help when all 3 lanes are getting their poo-poo shoved in.
Rammus wouldn't work nearly as well if people had some kind of common sense, that game's warding was not even what I saw in Silver. ._. Holidays power.

I play Irelia but I wouldn't trust myself to duel a Jax late in the game on equal gold. Damage is more mixed, Counter-Strike is godly for duelling, after Hiten Style ends you won't really hurt much... but Jax keeps trucking the same.

Depends how your consider the builds too. If you just want to tailor a 1v1 build, Jax can go Triforce/BotRK/Tabi (or mercs to reduce the stun duration)/Warmogs/FH/Randuin's, maybe sub in a thornmail somewhere. He wouldn't do that unless against an all-physical team, in a normal game.

Yeah but you're just opening yourself up to criticism on your own play rather than the limitations of certain characters. Like, what if you 1v1ed someone much better than you? How would it look? What if you fought someone much worse? Practical applications don't happen as cleanly as you think they might.

TBH I don't find it hard at all to envisage scenarios where Teemo duels Pantheon on even gold. As long as you don't die to initial burst while stunned, you can kite the shit out of him with good mushrooms and Gunblade/BotRK usage.

Jax doesn't need to outplay to win this matchup. Right click, mash q and w and use e whenever irelia uses w. Irelia can juke her ass off, but the damage is dealt in melee and unless we're talking a 6 item 800 stack nasus jax is gonna win that every time.

Ofc this is in a scenario where it's kill or lose, and that's not really how this game works.
